@Ikarosus It's completely and totally about Christmas. All John Mclaine wanted was to be with his family. He just had to kill a bunch of Germans, and Snape to get it, and isn't that what Christmas is about? Family?
YouTube these 90's movies,Heavywieghts, Blank Check, Good Burger,The Meteor Man, Dennis The Menace, RichieRich, Home Alone1&2, Matilda, First Kid, Angels In The Outfield, The Little Rascals, Brink, Hook,Casper,3 ninjas, Little Monsters, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, The Santa Clause, Jingle All The Way, Childs Play, The Mask, Ms.Doubtfire, Jumanji, The Grinch,JurassicPark, Addams Family, Cool Runnings, Free Willy,Kazaam, Last Action Hero,DropDeadFred, Don't Tell Mom The BabysittersDead
It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite movie of all time! I am 20 years old and my sister is 25. Ever since I was 7, my parents made us watch this movie every Christmas Eve. And every year we would piss and moan about it. It wasn't until I was about 15 that I started to not mind it so much. When I was about 17 I started to cry at the end, and now, I find myself watching it all throughout the year! TREMENDOUS MOVIE! If you are an adult and you don't like it, you're clearly missing something
@05:09 it is obviously the bed inttruder that delivers the presents and th parents dont know it so they go along with it...the ghetto whitness told me
I remember going to see "A CHRISTMAS STORY" at its theatrical release in 1983. I still love it today (and I haven't watched the 24 hour marathons, so not overexposed to it .. thank goodness).
.
In regards to "IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE" .. it used to be a great favorite of mine for the first few times I watched it. But I quickly lost interest in it because, quite frankly, at two-plus hours .... it's much too long and drawn out!
There actually was a remake of It's a Wonderful Life. In 1977 and it was called It Happened One Christmas starring Marlo Thomas and Wayne Rogers (Guy from MASH)
My favorite is a Disney animated movie called Small One, about the little donkey that eventually carries Mary to Bethleham. Tear jerker. (you can find it on YouTube)
@blowshimselfupdude But you haven't been overexposed to Charlie Brown? Which is also on multiple times every year,or a Christmas Carol, due to all the versions, which are the same core idea/story?
But aren't you getting the same effect with Charlie Brown? And for me,Christmas Story has a better story,I notice more things about it,don't laugh at some jokes, laugh ridiculously hard at other, more subtle jokes.
Hey, the only people I know who hated Jingle all the Way were the sheep who'd seen the NC review.
Personally, I didn't think it was a great movie as such but it was one I loved regardless. I thought Arnie was great in it.
I actually went through a similar experience to him one year when I when I went out to get my mum Professor Layton (the 1st one), going into the game shops and some of the clerks literally laughing at me because they'd sold out pretty much straight away. It was surreal.
I was in a christmas carol at my highschool when i was about twelve years old. I was the boy who buys the turkey for scrooge at the end of the show. It was a good memory
sinbad made jingle all the way a great movie. click is sort of a remake of wonderful life and its also been ripped off numerouse times in tv sitcoms and tv specials
A top ten christmas movie ranking without reindeer games, scrooged (well, it IS a christmas carol version, to be honest) and 78 fragmente einer chronologie (because depression and suicidal thoughts DEFINITELY suits the christmas spirit) in it? I'm rather shocked. :D
I just love the way you americans pronounce "schwarzenegger", it always gives me the willies. And I love Jingle All The Way as well. :)
you know what would be great if seth mcfarlene make kiss saves christmas
and if mysteries present were given to you and you did not buy an new it something you wanted inside by history as a parent would you question it i like the question who is the batman, flash, james bond, hellsing, you dont ask it not look into it cause do so would serve no good purpose?
I'll see your 'It's a Wonderfull life' and raise you an 'Arcenic and Old lace'with Cary Grant! The only version of themovie ever commited to film.I'malso with you on the muppets and disney versionsof C.Carol: despite the alterations alluding to the characters in the muppet and disney universes, they were both pure version of the story:if any thing they enhanced the essence of the Carol story. Abou the new movie: sucks, yes. But, I will give them this: theyhad Ignorance and Want make anappearance.
Wait'll you see the new one with Jim.A third of it (the first half) is amazing, it's very accurate (except debatably Scrooge's nephew, because personally I think he should always be a young, really bouyant, almost campy-but very grounded and earnest guy)__the guy in the new movie isn't that at all. He's stubborn and defensive, and loud. Did Scrooge have problems with his father in the book?Because they tried to make it out that Scroogehad a turbulent childhood rather than just an isolated one.
Also, the ghost ofChristmas Present....yeah...He....I'll just say it: he comes off as psychotic about half way in. He wasn't jovial, he wasjust creepy. And he gets worse. You'll seewhat I mean. It felt like Rob Zombie wrote this script: Christmas Carol is a ghost story (hence the beginning phrase 'the marleys were deadto begin with. As deadas a doornail'__but it'ssupposedto be afun, engaging kind of scary to tell circles of kids__which is whatDickens used todo! The story was intended forchildren.
Great list and you make a great point about the over exposure of A Christmas Story though I'm going to nitpick one thing. Vincent Price did not narrarate How the Grinch Stole Christmas? That was actually Boris Karlof.
