POGO BALL!!!!! I remember that, I had the exact same one, and my sister had a pink one. We'd be out all night trying to get the highest "jump" scores and who could stay on the longest... haha. I miss my pogo ball :( :(
Marketing took a strange turn around 1999, the later half of the 90's. Its like some new techniques were employeed and no one understands what a toll its taken on our society. It has taken complete control over everything that people think. Its gotten to the point where people are so insecure about themselves that its sucked the joy, totally, out of everything. The only thing that gives someone pleasure is their bullshit ego. That was all caused by marketing, not only commercials, ratings, sales
I didn't have simon, but I had Merlin wich played multiple games. I didnt have hungry hungry hippos, but i had mr. big mouth, which had you flipping tiddly wink type discs into a pac man looking face which moved clockwise and opened and shut his mouth. It seemed I always had the knock offs or not so popular games. I also had a game like operation but it was a sunken ship you had to pull treasure out of.
I was born in 78 so I totally agree. Sometimes I do wish a was born earlier so I could've enjoyed going out in the 80's but I would never change the "being a kid in the 80's" experience.
@ImixmaniK I was born in 1977, right in the middle of your range! I went out at 12 in 1989, with other junior high kids, but we really just went to the arcade and movies, or malls, pretty much like other teenagers.
@jtadpoll I agree, I'm a 1978'er, and we had the best toys. Kids don't even play with toys today, it's all video games. Notice all the toys on the shelves today are just updates of toys we had (Transformers, GI Joe, etc...). No one's got imagination today
@jtadpoll I agree. I was born in 77 so I was a little one all through the 80s, but wish I would have been born earlier so I could have been a teenager during that time period.
lol..4 real the 80's were a blast yo,i did hate dat damn simon to hard when ur a child to keep up wit that shit.lolbut all the other games i had.i miss my atari and nintindo(sigh)i feel old
80's had better music, better TV,better toys, better economy! Some one hurry up with the time machine already!!! I am sick of only hearing rap on the radio!!!!
we were so priviliged in the 80's i always say i feel bad for kids that didnt grow up during that time. it was such a good time to be a kid. some of the best toys ever came from that decade.
I still got my simon and diecast voltron and commodore 128D god back in the days again, just love it, I hope they come out with some dvd that shows the 80's commericals and news and sports, and toys and movies, game shows, and more, that would be neat!
this is the coolest video ever i love seeing all those cool toys it takes me right back to being a kid. I think at one point i owned everything your video showed
Pogo balls were awesome! But I seem to remember they just didn't last very long. What was that thing where you had to pivot on the seat to get the thing to go?
The only ones I didn't have was the Talking Simon (had an imitation version), the Atari game system (we had the desk-top computer instead) and Nintendo.

One thing you can say about the 80's is that all in all it was fun and no one pretended otherwise to be introspective or deep ---- just good fun.
