Yup. I really love some of his earlier concerts because they showcased a broad range of Gackt's talents. This song, Last Song, Kimi ga Matteiru Kara, Lu:na really are amazing and they show Gackt's versatility.

Usually he doesn't stress his voice that much, at least in the concerts I've seen (this one - diabolos - rr2). But it's not just him, I've seen other singers using lower pitches, also because it's easier to control your voice than using your whole range(I think)

why is he singing this so much lower than on the record... the chorus of oasis sounds better higher :( but other wise a terrific performance

Probably because he couldn't get that high anymore. (: He increased his range and control, but I think he lost the higher ranges and went lower. Or, so I assume. d:

You are probably right plus the fact that he was not feeling well on the day this concert was recorded. So he was forced to drop his voice lower though same key & his nasal sounded a bit stronger. The entire concert was very powerful despite him being unwell. Guess he used up every last ounce of energy he could muster.

In an interview he said that Utakata and Oasis where part of a new storyline that he wanted to eventually persue. I honestly think this would be interesting to see and i hope he takes this storyline further. The moon saga was great but this could surpass it from the looks of it.

I found this performence of Oasis really strange.. what with the weird backing dancers and whatnot. Although its a good thing though. An epic opening to a great concert XD

This is a different song; Utakata no Yume is the opening with the traditional drums and Shamisen. :) Kimi ga Oikaketa Yume is later on in the concert. ^-^

I never heard Gackt sound so good. He said it himself too that this was the best he ever sound when singing, and Chacha agreed. He really "found his voice" during this concert. It's his best concert in my opinion. It was well put together. Love Oasis and I think he should perform it more often.
