It's not bad, but it's nothing in comparison to the tones used during the 13th century and before. The organ as well does nothing for me. Some would say the change in tone was in an effort to modernize, but while this might be true, I highly doubt the spiritual value of such decision making.

Le garçon de 8 ans que j'étais ne comprenait pas tout l'office, mais ma grand-mère était étonnée de m'entendre lui demander : "c'est quand qu'ils vont parler de pharaon et de son armée et quand ils ont passé le fleuve à pieds secs." J'avais bien retenu le texte des psaumes et j'étais fasciné par l'Egypte.
