  • One of my favorite lost gems from the 90's

  • Ha Ha - Pauley Perrette. I remember when she used to be in tons of commercials and things like this back in the 90's before she was famous.

  • I always think of this song and Counting Blue Cars by Dishwalla together, cause the lyrics are very deep about meeting GOD or trying to meet her... LOL

  • i love his smile!

  • he should have got gods autograph

  • The guy at 1:25 on the left totally looks like Max Payne.

  • I wish I could "like" this video 1,000,000,000,000 times. How many times is that?

  • @SuperGaleford That's 1,000,000,000,000 times.

  • not me?

  • that dude is like flapping a lot. is that a counting crows move?

  • @kautle It's more of an REM move. Stipe started the flap dance, and nobody does it better!

  • After 1999, most good music fell apart. Now we have JB and ''the autotune generation''. I made that up, lol.

  • So many songs in the 90's used the phrase "everything falls apart" or "all falls apart" "falls apart..." was a big thing back then...irony is things are really falling apart now and nobody's really got much to say about it lol

  • I met God this afternoon riding on an Uptown train; I said, "Don't you have better things to do?" He said, "If I do my job, what would you complain about? So I let it go to Hell; now I'll have something to do." He said, "I let it go to Hell...does that sound familiar to you?"

  • @MsAzureLight it sounds vaguely familiar to me

  • Forgot this song til I heard a clip on Extra. :)

  • Why the hell does this song only have 145,000 views?!!??!!? Crazy..

  • @Spe3dFr3akz

People who grew up around the internet probably wouldn't know about this song. Or vice versa.

  • @Ogknav damned webbernet

  • Takes make back!!

  • @AshleyJones711 Me too!

  • pauley perrette!!!!!!!

  • @stauroula16karra yes!! You're so right! I didn't even notice! I feel blind >.<

  • love the part at 2:48 :)

  • Pauley sent me! But I've known the song.

  • Thumbs up if the lovely Pauley Perette sent you here!

  • how old is the singer now??

  • @PauleyP sent me here too!!!

  • Good song. Cool concept for a video. Pauley Perrette - hot, as always.

  • like if PauleyP sen you 0:39

  • PauleyP remind me how it used to be... love this song thanks for sending me here Pauleyp

  • Pauley P sent me here

  • Thumbs up for PauleyP!

  • BOYCOTT THE 00's music these days fucking blows, i listen to nothing beyond 2000 because its just not worth it

  • rob thomas stole his voice..... that asshole

  • I remember the 90's. Nobody wore clothes that fit properly.

  • @BigFresh37 thats the way it should be

  • OMG HE IS SO SEXY!!

  • @lickastonerchick I agree, he sure as hell is!

  • I was shocked when I saw that this video only had 137, 253 views!

  • @Starlandmarie I agree!

  • Kinda sounds like the theme song to some shitty sitcom with a bunch of oh-so-witty twenty-somethings.

  • Loved this band for Many years..saw them in a club many years back , and they blew me away, and still do~~~

  • is this christian rock?

  • My favorite song of '96.

  • "the Devil's not.. in the Details the Devil is IN MY PANTS!"

thumbs up if you think this is one of the coolest lyrics you've heard in a while too

  • @hiei8888 I used to play bass in a bar/covers band and sometimes I'd sing this one. The line "...The devil's in my pants" kind of takes on a little different meaning when a female sings it.

  • @BassPlayerSusan - Nah for me it would mean the same thing =)

  • Parallel universe?

  • Quite a interintesting song, it's a great story if you just listen! I Love learning the reality of life and all of it's faces! My beautiful daughter has opened my eyes to the reason men and woman exist together! I love you Elizabeth, Your Daddy-Jerry Lee

  • Quite a interintesting song, it's a great story if you just listen!

  • This song brings back sooo many memories. One of the best songs ever!!!

  • I fucking hate VEVO!!!!! Shit never plays fast! Fuck you VEVO!

  • umm matchbox 20? anyone else feel that? its rob thomas's long lost brother

  • I can realte in so many ways. So many lyrics. From the got go here by pissi'n off all my friends, to when things start to go weel i start to dobut it, such a great song!!!!

  • Is that a dude dressed as a woman in a red wig?

  • @samspinchat You know, I wonder that myself.

  • Comment removed

  • @BassPlayerSusan Look at the guy coming out of the barbershop around the 3:00 minute mark. I think that is the person in the red wig. It shows him touching his head then with no hair. I don't understand the meaning though.

  • One of the best songs of 1996!

  • Watching this is making me wish so badly for my youth. I'm getting towards 30 now, as I'm sure most of the people watching this are. The mid-90's was great times. The 21st century has been more or less torture. Let's get it back to what it was then.

  • @rm630610

Indeed. Yes, the 90's had it's share of douches, chumps, sleazes, etc. And that's just people. Yet the 90's had it's share of great times and people. But, I dunno, seems the minute that 1/1/2000 came along, everyone stopped caring. Doesn't it seem that way to you?

  • Is that Pauley Perrette?

  • I didn't know the lead was so damn cute...

  • Has this been a on a movie soundtrack?

  • This was my favorite songs back in 1995 when I was 11 years old. It just struck a chord with me so profoundly. When I listen to it now it still brings out those same emotions that it did back then. Along with feelings of nostalgia on a time when I began growing up and started seeing the world differently. God, one of these days I'm gonna save all the youtube videos from all the songs from 1995-1998 that I remember loving like this and put them on a dvd as a chronological yearbook of my youth.

  • oh the 90's we need you back

  • @ncs1988

Someone needs to draft a petition.

  • @ncs1988 well...not the grunge parts.

  • When things start to feel right you can count on me to start to doubt it!

Man, it's amazing 15 years and it's still my theme song.

  • @Ll0ydD0bler

i agree! it's awesome and amazing when things still make sense and are still relevant even many years later. :D

  • i saw this band in houston , 4 people in the whole bar, we talked to them all night, after this song became a hit they came to houston like 2 months, later, acted like we were complete strangers, my 8 year old son who loved this band was broken hearted the way they treated the only 4 fans in the whole place, so iam glad your working in a burger joint now, treat your fans better.

  • They sound like a combo of Matchbox 20 and 3 doors down

  • BRING BACK THE NINETIES. IN COMPARISON, THE EIGHTIES AND THE 200'S SUCKED.

  • Hey, it's Jeremy Davies... in drag.

  • And they actaully recorded this album in an old abandoned house. I think that's pretty damn cool

  • Thing I love about this song, is really no one knows who they are and never heard of them. Bands like this rule.

  • this song was never good and yet for years i couldn't stop singing it---and frankly still can't help but crank up whenever it randomly pops up on the radio (randomly)

I met God This Afternoon--Ridin On An Uptown Train I said Don't You Have Better Things To Do..He Said If I Do My Job What Would You Complain About...

  • I got to see them open for Tori Amos. A great concert indeed.

  • Great song. what happened to this guy?

  • IS that Justin Beber's dad?

  • I love this song i used to listen to it all th time now that i have herd it again it brings back alot of good memories

  • had no choice but to listen on vevo ...gawd dammit..

  • I love the lyrics.

  • This is the song "devil is in my pants" comment comes from. The next part is "It's shoot first, apologize later...a quick end to a short term romance. I got what I wanted and now I don't want anything....now my life is just boring." I am not saying I ascribe to this philosophy, I just thought it was a funny/provactive facebook posting. But... sometimes the Devil is in our pants making us want to do wicked things. And for that we should thank God.

  • They played this song in the Titanic Alternate Ending

  • @MissLanaDawson LOL

  • @ErikkFriberg it's true! lol

  • This once again proves that the dominant music of this decade "urban-techno-pop" garbage, in which the loser of the moment, kanye, black eyed peas, riahnna, miley, etc, in which they sing about how much money they have and every third word is their name, is garbage.

  • Can't get this song out of my head lately -- so appropo for the times, too, eh? Kinda like Dylan's 'Everything Is Broken.' Looks like we're going through the 'going to shit' stage right now; looking forward to the renaissance/resurrection to follow?

  • i like how he looks like you think the voice he has wouldn't come out of someone like him...

  • Such an impressionable time, 8th grade.. life was just starting

  • Is the girl with purple hair seriously Jeremy Davies?

  • One of the 90's best right here! This song reminds me of the good that once was. Funny how the old years slip away.

  • @Bansheeeyes78 Yeah, and I'm only 33 y/o!

  • @Bansheeeyes78 No, it isn't really that funny.

  • @TheBigMclargehuge I was thinking the same thing. Not funny at all.

  • @Bansheeeyes78

IKR! I long for the days when stuff like this could be heard on the air. Rather than all the auto-tuned bullcrap they play ad nauseum...

  • What's this guy smiling so much about?

It was a requirement in the mid-90s that rock singers' unbuttoned shirts should almost fall off while singing

  • this was my song in the 90's

  • This song reminds me of alot of my relationships. Damn devil being in my pants!!!!

  • this song and a lot of other songs from the goo goo dolls are the bands that i loved to listen to at school just to make my day that much better.

  • 1995 weird i was only 4 years old but i fucking loved this song i wish i was born about 10 years earlier so i could've enjoyed music like this

  • I remember being 12 and wanting to be in a band JUST BECAUSE of this video

and the location where the band is shot is quite beautiful IMO

  • holy shit me too

I was 15 it was my first year playing drums...what an awesome year for music...so many good songs released that year

  • this song is badass!

  • haha, I remember this song

  • that guys sing like a motha

  • when rock was happy go lucky laid back and a lot of band with numbers in their band names

  • One of my favorite songs and videos of that era...
