I find that John is easier to like as long as you just accept him as an ordinary bloke. Which he, for the most part, was. Very musically talented, but aside from that as flawed as most people. Some folks get mad at him for being a "jerk" or "hypocrite" or whatever else, but that's mostly because they expect too much. Lennon was never a good philosopher, and he wasn't terribly well-read. But one can still appreciate him for his odd quirks and his humanity.

The earth has room to comfortably house over 200 billion people without intruding open plains, mountain ranges, farms, jungles, forests, etc... The current population of 7 billion standing side-by-side & front-to-back can fit in an area slightly larger than the size of Jacksonville Florida, or housed in Montana.

But he did SO much to try and be a positive force to others- and he worked hard to try and be a better person even though it was probably extremely difficult for him. John Lennon was a brilliant song writer; the best of the four. He had a restless, creative mind, and a terrific sense of humor. When I was a kid I was a zealous Lennon admirer. Now, as a middle-aged man, I still love the music, and get a kick out of hearing him ramble on.

His comment on balance is also correct. Eventually there will be an equalizer whether its through plague or natural disasters and hopefully we will be better off for it, if we're still alive that is.
