@dancedaze it has been tested in a lab on plants. Evolution is used in medicine to predict the mutations of viruses for vaccinations. It has been shown to be true in every possible account. And a theory is concise red a fact, which is all I'm saying. In science, evolution is considered true, whether you agree with science or not, is your problem.
It does not imply a belief. Take for example, you don't believe in Thor. Does that say anything about what you do believe? No! Case closed. It's a very simple concept to grasp.
He says 'Evolution is a theory which has been tried and tested'. NO IT HASNT. If you watch the explaination of DNA then it assumes ancestors. The exact same arguement applies to creationists. As for the authors quote "and it cant be put into an equation!" Well I could - it would be B+U+L+L+S+H+I+T
belief is the sole and only basis of any specific reality. reality is just a description. science, like religion, is dependent on belief. science is a practice and a tradition, just exactly like religion.
Hopefully this comment goes through but I commented on this video earlier in a message because it wouldn't let me comment (it kept saying error). Check your inbox. And btw. I commented on your job video
I am going to end this right here. Religion defined by dictionary. com is "belief in and worship of a God or other superhuman agency". There you have it. It requires a deity.
wrong, there is a difference between belief and disbelief. christians believe that there is a higher power. we atheists believe that there is NO higher power. we do not disbelieve in a higher power, that makes no sense. just thought i'd put it out there
@AConvincedAtheist Belief: Websters Dictionary, A persuasion of the truth, or an assent to the truth of a declaration, proposition, or alledged fact, on the ground of evidence, distinct from personal knowledge...a train of reasoning may result in belief..to leave with..to rest on...to rely. The greek word for belief is also translated as faith. If Atheism has none of this, I would hate to live with your conscience.
Atheism is a religion. Aconviencedatheist, i want to ask you personally...what is religion? If you think it has anything to do with a supernatural being, you'd be wrong. Which is what i can derive from deductive reasoning because you try to state what religion is, and what atheism is not...Atheism, a system of thought that wants to reflect what mans self worth is, and explains mans existence with powerful/meaningful symbols (i.e. religion) is a religion whether you want it to be or not.
@pearjam90 I'm sorry, but you are dead wrong. Atheism is simply a disbelief in any god. You don't believe in Thor, but does this disbelief equate religion? Of course not. That would be silly. It takes a belief in something for a religion to occur.
@AConvincedAtheist We're not arguing what atheism is. We're arguing whether or not it's a religion. Religion doesn't have to have a higher deity, look at Hinduism. Although Krishna is important, he is not the deity of that religion. Same with atheism which leads to all works being self glorified/nature glorified. Not to mention, atheism's belief in no deity is held up by a system of beliefs, and values. Is it not? if it has no values who is to say what values are, and why one should follow them?
@pearjam90 You are completely misunderstanding what I'm saying. Atheism doesn't say what we believe. It doesn't say that I believe things should be glorified. You're trying to argue humanism which is not atheism. Atheism just says that I don't believe in a god. Atheism does not say that I believe we should glorify plants or anything like that. You clearly don't understand what atheism is. It's not a list of rules or anything of the such.
@pearjam90 dude, you say that Hinduism does not have a higher deity, but it does.
In Hinduism, Brahman is the one supreme, universal Spirit that is the origin and support of the phenomenal universe. Brahman is sometimes referred to as the Absolute or Godhead which is the Divine Ground
you, my friend, are refering to Buddhism. i would advise you to do your research before commenting
I think we shouldent be bichin any religion, I mean we all belived in it if we go by the theory of evolution, we have evolved to the present state of humanity through thousands of years of religious believes so religion is in sort coded in to our mind and we see the world throug religious perspective like it or not. And if you don't like it, I guess it's just another religion.
@ihormusy I disagree on your assumption that we look at the world through a religious perspective whether we like it or not. And atheism is not a religion. It is only the lack of a belief in a supernatural being. This does not equate religion. It is only a lack of belief. Religion requires the supernatural because it must claim to know something. Atheism doesn't claim to know anything. Only that it has a lack of belief.
So why did you become atheist? Law of God or Theory of Evolution both come to the same thing according to you I find, the only dif is that in present times evolution is more understandable to us, the young people, only because we got it from school, tv, radio, internet and books. May be in 30 years atheists will be old folks not making any sence, nor religion, probably worshiping aliens from space that we might find proof of there existance but never actualy seen one of them. Wldnt it be same?
@ihormusy I never said they both boil down to the same conclusion.
You're trying to say that religion and evolution (atheism) are the same when this just isn't so. Religion forces people to not think for themselves, hence why we (atheists) like to call ourselves free thinkers. In religion, all the so called answers are laid out in front of them. They think they know what the creator of the world wants them to do, which is why horrible atrocities can happen in the name of religion. This is...
@ihormusy I didn't answer your original question. I became an atheist through my attempt at disproving evolution and atheism, but when I realized there was much evidence for evolution, I retracted my former beliefs. It took me a long time to admit it, but I am happy now that I have.
you should make a video on the theory of why ur face is so fucking ugly!! i got a theory, it's because ur a fat peice of shit that doesn't know what he's talking about! or how about you make a video of yourself commiting suicide !! hahaha i would LOVE A VIDEO ABOUT THAT !! HUH!!!?? FUCKING BURN IN HELL YOU MEGA SLOB !!
I watched your video and the first thing that came to mind was that Evolution would have to go against a LAW of science. The law of thermodynamics and inertia. That all things are running down and going toward a state of chaos. Example a house left alone over time will become rubble if not maintained. Evolution says over time genes in animals would become more complex and organized. Going from simplicity (one celled organism) to complex (the body). It fights a LAW. an undisputed law.
@finessewes9119 The second law of thermodynamics only referrs to closed systems which life is not. This argument comes from a misunderstanding of the second law of thermodynamics.
@AConvincedAtheist I spent some time and looked it up and The law of Thermodynamics and inertia are universal law. Like gravity they affect everything. nothing is outside of Universal Laws (even planets observe gravity). These laws undeniably proven. If we came from a similar ancestor the more humans mate and produced offspring the more inbred those offspring would become. NOT more evolved, But diseased (because the gene pool would not be evolving but devolving to a worst state) INERTIA.

That's not all atheism is, but those tenants that i stated before are some of the many beliefs that all atheism holds.
