A lot of things can happen outside. Before I got my Tigger fixed, he would be gone for aobut a month or so at a time. After the 2nd time, I got him fixed. If you live next to a busy street or highway, that will also effect the choices for outside. If your cat is a hunter and brings back dead or alive things in the house, ya I don't think so. If I do let my cats outside, I'm outside too. We been through a lot in 11 years since he was born. He had his outside time in TX, and we live in PA.

Cats aren't just quirky playthings, they should have as much freedom as possible. Some keep them in small apartments, but unless they're old people (or old cats used to it) I'd ay that's unreasonable.

If the cat wants to go outside and you don't want it to get lost, make it wear a leash so it can stay in the yard (unless you live in an apartment).

we never let out cats out....too much can happen.....but we do leave windows open for them
