its a mk 2 ep70 starlet, and unless hes converted it, its normally aspirated. I know because i own the same car! I do hear a chatter sound so its possible hes turbo charged it, but then again there is no sign of an intercooler??

I think the starlet done well considerin its an old car.probably no mods(apart from ridiculous stickers) so pushin just over a 100bhp and put up that performance against a newer 200bhp car. This is defo a turbo if it wasnt it would not have sat along side the civic through 2nd until it needed to shift(thats with a huge fat man in the passenger seat)

Volvo 240 2.1 turbo or 740/940 2.3 turbo would be a nice start. It's a brick (heavy) but they're durable on use and with certain driveline parts inside the volvo brand and enough power you could hit the 300km/h limit. Although if you can find a 740 GLT with N/A 2.3 16v engine and fit a turbo to it, you'd have pretty nice start. Also older Toyota's like KP60/61 are a good choise as they're lightweight and with minor work could adopt 4A-GE 20v engine. MR2 is a good choise too. Even the older ones.

i guess the starlet is a 4efte engine swap so it should be arround 140 hp, civic has 200

increase the boost, reduce weight (rear seats, fat kid, etc) and then you can smoke type rs and golf gtis

It's all about power to weight, a 1245kg Civic vs a 750kg Starlet, power to weight 210 vs 135 works out about even. Aerodynamics at higher speeds would play a big role beyond 4th gear... Also they did produce a 4 door EP71 Turbo S with a 2e-te engine
