  • Truly remarkable.

  • Magic.. the best song from Sigur, no doubt :)

  • Is it only the bow or does he use any distortion/overdrive at all ?

  • i think its the bow

  • Beautiful

  • Has he got a sustainer in his guitar for that harmonic effect? Or is it the bow.

  • great music

    harmonics heaven!

  • Buneo... entonces Cual fue?? kien adivina el tema?

  • Buen tema, que bueno que lo inmcluyeron en la pelicula de Vanilla Sky

  • This is amazing these guys have talent squirting out there ears! the amount of work needed for this song is incredible kudos major to Sigur Ros, Good Work!

  • I reckon he's using and open tutning? that suits the song?

  • cool! check them out in Screaming Masterpiece!! They're awesome in that one!

  • I'm almost certain that seeing them live would bring tears to my eyes. So amazing.

  • I love this band, and all their music, this is talent.

    Cheers from mexico.

  • celebrate life

  • omg, tears

  • This is the most beautiful video on YouTube.

  • lo mejor que haya escuchado sin duda, gracias sigur ros...

  • Excelente musica y canción... me gusta este grupo... gracias por compartir este video...

  • this is the soul's noise...

  • This is fuckin amazing and I wish I could speak Icelandic so I knew what he was saying. But none the less this is trippy, beautiful, and they are awesome musicians...I feel so inferior, just owning an E-bow:[

  • He's speaking 'hoplandic', which is a ficticious dialect. Think Tolkien's language in the Hobbit and Lord of the rings...

  • just the weirdos the music industry needs these days

tired, tired, tired of this MCR bullshit

music used to be about making beautiful sounds , but coporate america has turned it into on big advertisement

    god bless Sigur Ros

  • Sigur Ros are great!

  • a m a z i n g . . . .

  • a m a z i n g . . . .

  • o m g

  • I love that!

  • Actually, I think 'Olsen Olsen' on Agaetis Byrjun was/is also sung in Hopelandic..

  • Erm, as for the language they sing in...

This song this album is from was sung entirely in Icelandic, but the next one was in a made up language that the singer uses to get 'the feel of the song' called Hopelandic. The newest album has Icelandic and Hopelandic songs.

  • the best band on the planet. full stop.

  • Que bueno! Aqui en españa tambien nos gusta Sigur Ros! Mi cancion favorita es Staralfur. Un saludo a todos!

  • Damn, I was so happy with my E-Bow... This is pretty amazing!

  • best band ever live, must of seen them at least 10 times now

  • what does Sigur Ros mean?? please reply cus i wana know :)

  • It literally translates as "Victory Rose." Sigurros (the 2 words together) is actually the name of their singer's sister - the band formed the same time she was born

  • that was quick! i wasn't expecting anyone to give a reply so soon! :), the translation and meaning behind the name is cool, thanks man

  • sigur ros means ( i am icelandic) The triumph of the rose

  • Sigur Ros are great!

  • Tyooohooooo....

I've been told most of the words they use in their songs aren't even real. I don't know for sure since I haven't translated them myself. All I know is their music is otherworldy, period.

  • The song is called Svefn-g-englar, from their album Agaetis Byrjun. The song title translates to "Sleepwalker" if you're curious!

  • I agree with Barwee.Page made a nice creepy sound but this guy is just WOW!how's the song called?

  • very great. But it looks like these guys could use a sandwich or two.

  • I love these guys! Got the chance to meet them in person during April's Tokyo concerts (both days); they are the nicest down-to-earth band. Come back to Japan!

  • lindo!

    Line

  • That was the greatest 11 minutes and 12 seconds of my life

  • Impressive. you have to be unashamedly pretentious to play guitar with a bow. a weird complement i know.

  • this is off of a'gaetis byrjun, right? i cant find the album anywhere, and its killing me. I have all of there others, but i just cant find their breakout one!

  • ahhh beautiful

  • why my videos cut at all time while playing ?

  • Svefn-g-Englar... amazing and fatastic...

  • Simply amazing

  • Seeing them live is like heaven. Breathtaking!

  • I love this band. They cant be compared with anything on this earth. Their concert at roskilde this year.. haven't got words.. Great video, anyone know where it's from?

  • I've seen them playing live and it's just grace.

  • Most of the Sigur Ros lyrics i've translated are about suicide and cutting. Which I didn't expect at all. If you want to see how his sexual preference influences him watch the Sigur Ros videos they're amazing.

  • What a bullshit. I'm icelandic and those lyrics ive read is far from being about suicide and cutting. show me a song that is about that.

  • I wish YOUTUBE was in stereo like some of the other video servies. It would make this even better.

  • I can't believe anyone would be so small-mided to comment on his sexuality, which is his business. The fact he is gay probably influences his music in a huge way anyway, i.e. sensitivity and an alternative perspective on life, being an outsider, allowing him to make music that most 'normal' people usually don't even 'get.' Heaven/hell, black/white, when will people learn and read up on things to have a proper understanding of the world!

  • ximono - a Fundamentalist 'Christian' can. Which is odd as I can't somehow see Christ casting Jonsi into hellfire just because he is gay! As a wife whose husband has chucked her on the scrapheap to go and shack up with another woman I do not believe that being gay rates very high on the list of 'sins'! Yet adultery is rife in the Fundamentalist church.

    Gorgeous music, beautiful voice.

  • Thw bow guitar hurts my spine, lawlz

  • No, the song is called Svefn-g-Englar.

  • is this song called Reverb??? its so beautiful!

  • Who cares if somebody are gay or not. When Jonsi sings like he does, who can think of something as stupid and unimportant as the fact that he is gay.

  • Just perfect... I think they're one of the best relax-rock band.

  • Sigur Ros means 'Victory Rose' and was named after vocalist Jon Birgisson's sister, Sigurros

  • believe it or not, i cried when he started singing thru the guitar pickups. This song blown me away.

  • gay or not, his vocals are grating.

  • Jonsi IS gay...but for some odd reason I just don't care. Usually I'm not all about gay people because I do believe in christianity and I'm not gay myself. Just try to concentrate on the breathtaking music and you'll probably forget about it. I do.

  • I'm brand new to Sigur Ros, friend at work suggested them to me. So far, they've done nothing but blow me away. Incredible.

  • Jimmy Page started playing with a bow with the Yardbirds in 1967 but never with this kind of intensity. Anbd I am willing to bet he could not sing and do it at the same time. My daughter just sent this to me. Thank you kiddo. Unreal.

  • i have no clue what he is saying but this is such a beautiful song!

  • Led Zeppelin did that 1973

  • I'm a fan of Led Zep, don't get me wrong. I thought Jimmy doing it was great, til I saw this. Jimmy Page couldn't get his guitar to sound anywhere NEAR as sweet as this with a bow. He used to batter the strings with it, and more often than not it was just noise. This is just beautiful.

  • i love this <3 best on youtube!

  • este weon se debe fumar unas weas entera poderosa la cago , quizas que mezcla haga

  • You know, all the guys in tha bad are skinny and slouchy, but play damn fine music... I bet they get all the ladies.

  • the one who sings is gay, dont beleive me? go visit the sigur ros official website in FAQ about them...

  • Ha, I guess I didn't see that coming.

  • why are so many people fixiated at the fact that jonsi is gay?

  • cause it has it on the official page

  • yeah, i realize taht but why is it such a big deal to everyone? he could be a unicorn for all i care, but with a voice like that nothing matters.

  • i dont think no one cares, well at least i dont care =D

  • that's not the name of the song, it`s Svefn g Englar

  • I have it downloaded as The Nothing Song. Why are there so many names?

  • I had the chance to see them in Barcelona on Dec. 2005, and i only could say, its just like heaven

    Carlos (Callao, Peru)

  • ahhh so many sigur ros fans, sometimes i feel like im the only one who likes them, most of my friends dont like them blah!

  • ya this is definately one of the alltime best bands.. these sounds are pure genius. all their songs are perfect.
