Also you would have to assume its not 24k gold cause it would be way to soft, probly 22k so you considering the price of gold earlier today when I checked($887 an ounce 24k) you would go 887 / 31.103 x .916(purity of 22k) which tells me I could sell(melt down) that block at roughly $26 per gram of gold so 26 x 250,000(how many grams) and you could sell that badboy for about 6.5 million.

I often hear ppl say 24ct gold is soft, which it is but not as soft as you might think. It is very soft compared to steel or brass. You couldn't damage or mark a gold bar with your hands or fingernails. I'm a jeweller and make my own alloys so i work with pure gold on a daily basis. Zoo magazine stated that you could squeeze the stuff around with your hands a few months back. It' not the case.
