  • im stuck in the second layer it dont work

  • Great video!

  • Thanks dude, I actually found your explanations way better than Dan Browns video. Awesome work dude, Really really appreciate your help. :)

  • is there any possibilty that u can make an advanced method? for solving the rubik's cube?

  • thanks this really helped and i can do it now! :D

  • messed up again!!!

  • Thanks man.Very nice vid(maybe too fast on lastest/longest algorithm) but awesome vid.

  • My favorite colour to solve first is white

  • You notice how its solved when heputs it in the box at :30

  • I did it in 29 seconds ^_^...suckers. Haha just kidding ! :D your all right ;)

  • WOW! THANKS MAN!

  • any mnemonics to learn various algorithms,

    thanks

  • I DID IT!!!!!

  • @TheSergsB I'm at the third layer, but I don't have any of the patterns you have. Instead, there's a 4 piece box in the corner (these are the blues by the way) and just one corner at the opposite end

  • i dont think you can do this method under a minute

  • @TheSergsB Thanks for replying. Well, the situation is that the corners aren't placed correctly (not the right colours)

  • I Can't place the corners. Tried so many times, following your steps but it doesn't work! :(

  • @TheRealityCast What is your problem, specifically? Make sure you're holding the correct corner on the right side nearest you and doing the steps correctly

  • i just solved it...

  • Great video. Check out my video of mike Tyson vs rocky. It is hilarious

  • Thanks for the tutorial! Really helpful, bought the cube 2 days ago and now my personal record is 2.30 :D

  • thanks buddy! this worked!! your the best!

  • @RamsayPowerlifting Glad to hear it!

  • BUT NOW I DID IT I DID IT

  • I CAN´T DO IT I CANT FUCKING DO IT!!!

  • When you get to the very last algorithm (turning the corners) and you have the blue side facing towards you, you have to do the do the algorithm twice. If the blue side is facing towards your right, you only do it once.

My question is if the blue side is facing you (meaning you have to do it twice), could you just do the algorithm backwards once and solve it? It would really cut down on time.

  • @Curthe93 Just figured it out, the answer is yes.

You do the entire procedure backwards. If you would usually turn the side up, turn it down.

That way, you don't have to do the same algorithm twice.

When I did the blue cross algorithm backwards starting from just the blue center, I would up with the blue straight line (one step away from solving the cross), making things a little easier.

  • @Curthe93 Haha yep, that's exactly what I do! :)

  • top side

  • This helped alot xP

I still cant get the last layer tho xP

  • FINALLLY SOLVED IT

  • what is the algorithm for layer 3?

  • This tutorial was amazing! Thanks for helping me solve my first Rubik's Cube!

  • Thanks dude.

    It helped a lot~!

  • Finally!.. thanks very much.

  • thank you sooo much! i always wanted to solve it but never know how :)

  • Can you do a Fridrich method tutorial on solving the cube? It would be most appreciated. Please reply

  • I DID IT!!! I FUCKING DID IT!!!

  • @nova4009 haha AWESOME DUDE!

  • @TheSergsB Sorry for posting 2 comments, but I forgot to thank you for an awesome tutorial.

  • @nova4009 my reaction is the same buddy!!!!....... I was like REALLY? YAY I FINNALLY FUCKING DID IT ^_^ YAAAAAY but i was so happy i fucking dropped it :D

  • Ya, it's already solved man, but u helped me so much!

  • great video man

  • This is amazing! Can't believe I can finally solve the darn cube that has been taunting me ever since I bought it a month ago! @TheSergsB Thanks a lot for uploading this! :)

  • This is a great tutorial, but it would've been more helpful if you had performed your algorithms a little bit slower so the viewer can do it while you do it. Also, if you list the algorithms you used in the video in the description box, it would be awesome.

  • this did not help :/

  • white

  • I like to start with the white :)

  • its weird how it was already solved when u put in in the box

  • awesome. you might want to put the algorithms in the descriptions, or on screen, or something -- then we won't have to keep skipping back and rewatching. apart from that, great job.

  • GREEN

  • How do you correct the mistakes? I made one.

  • I have a problem and the Additional Help video didn't seem to cover it... When I try to all the corners in the right place in the third layer, only two do, the other ones are wrong.

  • @elnegroable Are you talking about Phase 3 or Phase 4?

For Phase 3, NONE, ONE, or ALL of the corners will be correctly placed. Make sure you don't interpret "placed" as meaning "correctly oriented". The corner's color's should correspond to the centers in between which it's placed, but the blue DOESN'T have to be facing up.

For Phase 4 (The Last Step), just do the algorithm holding the two incorrect corners on your right and it should solve itself.

  • @TheSergsB I knew you would say that, I do not mean correctly oriented when I say placed, I mean between the three colors.

  • when you bomb the cube, u put it in a box solved already, didn't think of that did you?

anyway nice video dude helped me!

  • lolz

i bought it on this friday, after 2 days i solved it in school after watching your video

    really nice :)

  • for solving layer 2, all of layer 3's edges have blue on them! what do i do?

  • LMFAO i messed up at around 14:36 because my computer lagged. I thought i was screwed so I tried to retrace my steps. When that didnt work i just tried to reconnect the green to start over and boom i solved it. I was like WTF but i was so happy at the same time!

  • Thanks so so so so much, dude. I always wanted to solve the cube and your EASY instructions allowed me to. Just great. Thanks!

  • I have to say, I'd never solved a Rubik's Cube before and this tutorial was pretty thorough and fairly easy to follow. It got a bit quick towards the end (I can't rotate my sections as quickly as you), but a few well-timed replays and I was able to make it through. Thanks for the great instructional video! Now for the repetition so I can solve the Rubik's Cube without having to follow a tutorial. I think I may have to practice this 45,252,003,274,489,856,000 times before I memorize it...

  • @partygirrl360 Glad I could help :D

  • THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH THANK YOU!!!!!!!:D

first time i ever solved a rubix cube!:))))

  • i have trouble with the last layer it never looks like the ones in the video? help?

  • @sparkyflip Have you tried my Last Layer Additional Help video? Which part are you stuck on exactly? Phase 1, 2, 3, or 4?

  • @TheSergsB i havent i will take a look at them. erm all of them i think. it was just on this video u show the solution for just the middle coulour on the bottom at the start. but i didnt realise u had put move videos up to help nooobs like me. great video btw very helpfull :) cheers

  • @sparkyflip Scroll through a bit, I show all four variations :) Here's the list:

    Dot: 10:16

    L shape: 10:34

    Rod: 10:56

    Align the cross: 11:52

    Place the first corner: 12:53

    Place the remaining corners: 13:31

    Turn the corners: 14:14

  • Green :D

  • stadium of manchester becos i have manchester united cube:D

  • This is awesome!.. I dont own a cube though :( but if I did I dont think I would be able to leirn *laugh* I dont think I can buy cubes anymore.. dont even remember the last time I passed a store with cubes.

Thanks for the vid! I shall be back if I ever get a cube.. and then pretend I am smarter then my brother hehe

  • i like to start on the blue side first

  • this video screws me

  • this video is the reason why i bought the cube, and i was able to solve it. thanks :)

  • HEY! THAnks!!!!!!!!

for all my life i always left the cube in a box, but i always wanted to solve it

this is the best video ever! thanks!

  • Hey Sergs, it's me again.

Two weeks ago, I bought a cube, and I solved it after a good 20 minutes of studying my notes.

I've now solved it well over 50 times. My fastest time is somewhere near 2 minutes, and I never spend more than 4 minutes total on it. I have all the algorithms memorized. I just stopped by to give you a huge thank you. I owe all my success to you.

  • @Xmaggot93X Congratulations mate! Thank you so much for coming back and letting me know. I remember making you those response videos, and I'm glad they helped you out :)

Once you've memorized the algorithms, it just all becomes about finger speed and eventually, you're able to break the 1 minute mark. Keep cubing!

  • @Xmaggot93X Nice.... but i got a prpblem on solving the second layer ive solved the first layer (green) but cant get the next layer without messing the green up how do i fix this plz respond... :)

  • @nicolai1961 Have you tried 6:45?

  • 7 people don't know how to make a rubiks cube!

  • like if ur watching this and you dont have a rubiks cube

  • You didn't tell people what happens if they make any mistakes on when doing the green cross step. I know how to solve one of these, so i don't need advise, but other people might

  • the oneu put in the box was solved heheh

  • It's taken me all month, but now I can do it. I don't think I'll ever be fast, but I can finish it. Tricia

  • i got a problem, im not asian

  • i was laughing so hard when i did all the things you said and i looked at the blue and it was all there...... i mean the blue was whole and i mean all the color blue was in the bottom

  • /watch?v=GDw6vPl9GMs

Check it out @TheSergsB . This is how I solve my rubik's cube without viewing your video. I memorized all your moves! :D :)))

  • hey this was very helpful thank you

  • green

  • cant solve 3rd layer

  • People should promote this video, it's the best tutorial on the web so far.

  • "Whats your favorite side of the cube to start on?"

    RED :D

  • Finnaly, after like watching your vid 20 times I can now solve the rubiks cube by myself :)

  • I have the same cube

  • layer 3 is soo hard i keep getting lost!!

  • Waaaiiit.....I dont get it....If you're trying to move the green to the green center, and there is another edge color, how can you get that piece to the center?

  • @kelseythomasson An edge has 2 colors and ends up being placed between two centers. SO, you find your edge (say yellow-green), connect the yellow with the yellow center and then connect the green with the green center. That way your edge piece is between the two centers and after four such iterations you should have your cross :)

  • @MonkeyWho123 Check out 10:55 Let me know if you need any more help :)

  • i have a problem with the last layer it's like a rod thing, please make a video

  • I understand the first and second basic step but the 3rd and the last cross kinda confused me

  • If the tow last pices of the green side is facing down what shuld i do then?

  • @saurabhaj understand

  • i solved it, best how to tutorial, but you were too fast, needed to download the video so that i can watch it at 0.25x to understant.

  • And I just shit my pants...

  • This is the only video that makes my cube solved! :)

  • @bmpx44 Awesome! Don't forget, if you practice these techniques enough, you'll be able to solve it in under a minute!

  • thanks dude! I solved my rubik's cube!! :))

  • this is good but you go way to fucking fast dude you lose me so many times

  • This is by far the best tutorial for solving a Rubik's Cube using the Beginner's Method. But there's only one flaw. :'( You show people how to solve it with cross on top during the F2L phase (First two layers).

  • Comment removed

  • sorry to bother, but i am the kind of guy who manages to do the cube correctly memorizing the algorithms, but not knowing where they go. i'm trying ways to make em stick to my mind to say this algorithm goes here and this goes there, but all in vain. can u help me saying what u'd suggest to help me?

  • @pipwolfvideos

Just practice in steps. Like this, solve the cross and f2l(first two layers) and then scramble your cube and do it again until you can do the f2l algorithms without thinking, muscle memory. then work on your last layer algorithms starting with edges first then corners. if you need more help you can shoot me a P.M.

  • @pipwolfvideos So for the first algorithm, just do it over and over again as you cycle through the dot, l-shape, line, and cross and eventually your fingers will begin doing it by themselves.

Do the same thing for the 3rd algo, where you align the corners. Do it about 10 times in a row, then stop, do something else, then come back and see if you remember.

The second and the fourth algorithms are essentially the same thing so they should be easy to learn. Practice makes perfect! :)

  • I always manage to get stuck at the last phase when im about to place the corners. When i have no correct placed corners I do the algoritm Li-T-R-Ti-L-T-Ri-Ti as explained in the vid, but then i always end up with two correct placed corners. And no matter how many times I do the algoritm I never get all the corners right. And I do keep the correct corner bottom right when I start.

    thanks in advance!

  • @Magnfalt If you're sure and you get exactly TWO corners correctly placed, then something's wrong, and I'm guessing your cube has been taken apart and put back together incorrectly, meaning there's no way to actually solve it but by taking it apart.

ALSO, you can check to see that the first two layers and the blue cross are perfect, because mistakes there might throw your cube off. Happy solving :)

Also, let me know if this still doesn't help

  • @TheSergsB I tried another cube and it worked instantly, so I guess my cube is put together the wrong way. Thanks for the help, I was about to go insane :)

  • hi !! i have a doubt , my last edge to correct on the secon layer is yellow-blue, yellow is on orange, and blue is on yellow... do look for it with the same way as the others ? , or in a diferent because id tried and no luck.

    thank you !!

  • @MikeDavinci19 If i understand correctly, you started with the color red?

If that's so, then turn the bottom layer until the two BLUES match up and then do the series of steps (move it away from the yellow, bring own the left, reconnect the blues, lift up the left, and then place in your missing corner)

But, if I'm completely misunderstanding you, let me know. If what I've said makes no sense, see if you can post me a video showing me what your cube looks like

  • @TheSergsB i thought i erased the comment :P , after i posted it i made a turn and all got fixed :) , im doing the cube for the 4th time :).

hey on the last layer , on getting the cross , what if only one alines??? .

u said to turn until 2 aline to the same color , but i turn and only one does that . i made the yellow first and my bottom is the color white :)

    thanks man !

  • Hi, thanks for the video. I'm just starting out trying to solve these things. What's bogging me down currently is this: In layer 2, you say to look for the edge pieces in layer 3 that don't have blue in them. Unfortunately all my layer 3 edge pieces have blue in them. What should I do?

  • @aaotal Hey there!

Mos likely, this means that all of your edge pieces are already in the second layer, but in the wrong place. Take a look at 8:30, where I show you how to REMOVE edges from teh second layer that are wrongly placed. Good luck!

  • @TheSergsB Thanks! Thanks to your video I just solved it. Now I'm trying to figure out why the algorithms work, which will probably take a while.

  • @TheSergsB : I start with the Yellow or White Side because they are my favorite colors! :) ..

    Thanks for the tutorial!

and btw, which cube do you use ? I live in Mauritius, got one for $1 , but its crap plastic, don't cut corners at all.. i would like one that can cut corner and is really smooth, which one could i buy ? Thanks!

  • I like to start with white, I guess becouse of the logo...

  • Haha great vid just wondering why would you blow it up if it's solved?

  • I got problems with Layer 3 Phase 1. Every time i turn mines they dont end up as a L nor tha "rod" thing. I just end up as strange figures. Pls if you can help me, i dont know how to fix this.

  • @TheMikkelLiep Check to see if the rest fo the cube is solved. Sounds like you haven't placed one or more of the second layer edges in.

Otherwise, your cube may have been physically broken apart and put back together incorrectly at some point in its life, in which case you'll have to break it again and fix it that way, then scramble it up and try again :(

  • it takes me 1 minute to complete the first 2 layers +the cross of the upper layer but there is my limit..

  • I can not really memorize the alrythems that well so can you give me some tips

  • @kevinrapper10 Hey kevin,

So the way I found easiest to memorize was by using words instead of code, so like "lift up the right" instead of "R", etc. Once you've started the algo, try to think "How can I finish this algorithm without messing up the first layers?" and then it makes some more logical sense.

Also, the 2nd and last algorithms for layer 3 are almost identical, so that helps a lot.

Try re-watching and practicing a few times, and you'll get it soon enough :)

  • @TheSergsB thanks a lot

  • green! i found the secret message. but it took a TON of pausing and replaying to get it!!! :)

  • My head hurts

  • I start on green!

  • i do everything im supposed to and it works out until the very last step. for some reason every time i do it it messes the whole thing up

  • @BlackpowderKF Hmm, a lot of time peopel get confused and only do the "right side" portion of the algorithm. It's fairly long and it's easy to make a mistake. If you're still having problems watch the additional help on the third layer here:

    /watch?v=ruEWCLvF5NY

  • @TheSergsB thanks

  • thanks man.

  • @chisumar Yeah, no problem mate :)

  • I found the secret message!!! Well , my favourite side when is start is GREEN ... only because your tutorial starts with green :P

  • Final layer algorithms!

    Dot: 10:16

    L shape: 10:34

    Rod: 10:56

    Align the cross: 11:52

    Place the first corner: 12:53

    Place the remaining corners: 13:31

    Turn the corners: 14:14

  • 7:14 is where I get confused. So confusing. Hate it.

  • @ThoseTechGuys Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that. What is it that's confusing you?

Essentially what you do is you find an edge piece with no blue

Then you connect the colors together. So at 7:14 I'm connecting the orange part of the edge with the orange center

Then I'm moving the entire 3rd layer AWAY from the white center (to the right), bringing down the opposite (left side), Reconnecting the orange, and lifting the left up. Then just replace the green corner and the edge is in!

  • @TheSergsB I wonder what is your fastest solve? I wonder how can some guys solve it in seconds?

  • After layer one you get super confusing.

  • Whichever color i see first (exempting white, yellow, and blue) is the one is use for the first cross

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSergsB OMG You're so helpful! THanks AgAiN!

  • Thanks brother. I got it in an hour and I can own this thing now!!!

  • Thanks brother. I got it in an hour and I can own this thing now!!!

  • When you have made the blue cross you need to make a E.g yellow - orange, but i can only get my cude to do red - orange, what should you do then.

  • @TheMrMolle Hold it so that either the red or the orange is facing YOU. Then do the move at 11:50. That should do the trick :)

  • an hepful video. i just think that i shouldnt have gave my cube away 5 years ago to my little sister who broke it...

  • white

  • Green!

  • If anyone is still having trouble, check out some of the video responses with Additional Help. Still having trouble? Leave me a comment or video response and I'll personally respond to your case. Happy Cubing!

  • @TheSergsB I got a green corner block that's on the bottom of the cube as opposed to the side, how do I fix it?

  • @walkngdictonary Check this additional help video for the corners:

    /watch?v=PJF9cKeDaIg

The answer to your question is at 2:22 in that video. Let me know if that helps!

  • @TheSergsB Thanks! it definitely helped, i was able to fix the corner

  • @walkngdictonary Congrats! You're just a few steps from solving the whole thing :)

  • @TheSergsB I solved it! - 33minutes, 10 seconds!

  • @walkngdictonary AWESOME!! Next challenge - practice some more and post me a video response of you solving it in 2 minutes :P

  • @TheSergsB I SHALT (attempt to) PREVAIL!!

  • @TheSergsB I have 2 minutes 25 seconds! I WILL solve it in 2 minutes! o_O
