@azeivio - Stop making it up please :) The Van Allen belts are what the name suggests, i.e. belts not sphere's covering the whole earth! Hence the Apollo craft skimmed the weaker edge of the belts in an hour. And google search "South Atlantic Anomaly", this is part of the Van Allen belt that's unusally low, such that the International Space Station frequently passes through it, as did older stations like Skylab and Mir, and therefore during those moments, the astronauts stayed inside.
the first things scientists said about the moon rocks was that they are similar to ones here on earth. and someone said that the rocks brought back could be made here on earth using existing rocks and putting them through a process similar to vetrification using helium3. so the moon rock theory is out the window and won't hold up.

Similarities between moon rock and earth rock is what led to the theory of a mars size body colliding with the still forming earth 4.5 billion years ago, hence they share much of the same material. However, moon rock features isotopes and features not found in ANY earth rock, features that cannot be faked to fool the world's best geologists and research teams for over 40 years. Hence the moon rock is real, and 40 years of study has proven it to be real :)

@westy636R Nice try :) Meteorites are meteors that manage to reach earth's surface intact, i.e. they burn up from travelling many miles through earth's atmosphere before hitting the ground. As a result of the huge temperatures, any rock that travelled through earth's atmosphere cannot be mistaken for rock from the surface of the moon, and no, 'chipping away all the burnt bits' is not going to fool a geologist :-D But again, nice try :)

@azeivio - Apollo 11 landed in Jul 1969, then Lunokhod 1 (USSR's first rover with a reflector) landed in Nov 1970, then Apollo 14 landed in Feb 1971, then Apollo 15 landed in Jul 1971 and finally Lunokhod 2 landed in Jan 1973 (a month after Apollo 17). Hence the Lunokhod rovers landed a month after the first Apollo mission and a month after the last. Lunokhod 1 was lost for 40 years until it was found in 2010 by the same LRO probe that took photos of the Apollo landing sites. :)
@azeivio - Except none of the USSR landers had retroreflectors, the only record of retroreflectors on the moon comes from the 2 Lunokhod rovers and the 3 Apollo missions, and it's those 5 reflectors today being used to measure the distance of the moon via laser ranging. The USSR had some great successes in space, but being the first to put a retroreflector on the moon is not one of them, Apollo 11 got there first.
@azeivio - Oops, I got a bit carried away there :) Lunokhod 1 actually landed 1 year and 4 months after Apollo 11, where it landed between the Apollo missions 13 and 14, hence your claim the USSR put a reflector on the moon before Apollo is completely wrong. And again, it was the LRO probe that rediscovered Lunokhod 1, using the same technology that photographed the Apollo landing sites. And to fake it would be pointless when so many probes are on their way to the moon in a few years.

After years of watching the overwhelming evidence proving it was a hoax, I would think I'd come up with complex reasons as to why I believe the hoax. But like most of the end result thoughts I've had from many other dilemmas in my life, I usually go full circle and find that the simplest of ideas are the best answers. I soon came to the realization that it wasn't the first time Govt. lied to the people, so why would anyone doubt the moon rides also weren't lied about?
I thing you get a lot off radiation from the Van-Allen-Gürtel, every 7 min a commercial spot XD are you crazy?? God video, but bad presentation!! for this comercial overdose thumps down.
Oh! Just keep digging... You'll find that much of what we as cattle have been led to believe (HIS-STORY vs. HISTORY) is false or fake! This is just one of many. "Know the truth and it shall make you free!" All I want to know is what happened to the trillions spent? Now we're in debt? Yeah right...
nasa was asked what is stopping them from returning to the moon and they said the van allen belt. they still haven't found a way of protecting the astronaughts from the high levels of radiation. as they would need armour at least six inches thick. it's on thier website

@azeivio - Stop making it up please :) The Van Allen belts are what the name suggests, i.e. belts not sphere's covering the whole earth! Hence the Apollo craft skimmed the weaker edge of the belts in an hour. And google search "South Atlantic Anomaly", this is part of the Van Allen belt that's unusally low, such that the International Space Station frequently passes through it, as did older stations like Skylab and Mir, and therefore during those moments, the astronauts stayed inside.

the first things scientists said about the moon rocks was that they are similar to ones here on earth. and someone said that the rocks brought back could be made here on earth using existing rocks and putting them through a process similar to vetrification using helium3. so the moon rock theory is out the window and won't hold up.

Similarities between moon rock and earth rock is what led to the theory of a mars size body colliding with the still forming earth 4.5 billion years ago, hence they share much of the same material. However, moon rock features isotopes and features not found in ANY earth rock, features that cannot be faked to fool the world's best geologists and research teams for over 40 years. Hence the moon rock is real, and 40 years of study has proven it to be real :)

@westy636R Nice try :) Meteorites are meteors that manage to reach earth's surface intact, i.e. they burn up from travelling many miles through earth's atmosphere before hitting the ground. As a result of the huge temperatures, any rock that travelled through earth's atmosphere cannot be mistaken for rock from the surface of the moon, and no, 'chipping away all the burnt bits' is not going to fool a geologist :-D But again, nice try :)

Also, the moon is back on the agenda now, with numerous probes, landers and rovers planned for 2013-2014 alone (including Google's Lunar X Prize). Hence even more confirmation is on it's way :)

@azeivio - I don't need to 'check it up', USSR's 2 Lunokhod rovers had reflectors, hence I know man doesn't need to be there for that, but you said there was NO trace there, which is wrong. The reflectors were used within days of Apollo 11, 14 & 15, so how that was done with the USSR monitoring their every move? As I said, many others (around the world!) are sending their own probes/landers/rovers to the moon, so will you claim they're ALL lying? They're ALL in on the conspiracy? ;-)

@azeivio - Apollo 11 landed in Jul 1969, then Lunokhod 1 (USSR's first rover with a reflector) landed in Nov 1970, then Apollo 14 landed in Feb 1971, then Apollo 15 landed in Jul 1971 and finally Lunokhod 2 landed in Jan 1973 (a month after Apollo 17). Hence the Lunokhod rovers landed a month after the first Apollo mission and a month after the last. Lunokhod 1 was lost for 40 years until it was found in 2010 by the same LRO probe that took photos of the Apollo landing sites. :)

@azeivio - Except none of the USSR landers had retroreflectors, the only record of retroreflectors on the moon comes from the 2 Lunokhod rovers and the 3 Apollo missions, and it's those 5 reflectors today being used to measure the distance of the moon via laser ranging. The USSR had some great successes in space, but being the first to put a retroreflector on the moon is not one of them, Apollo 11 got there first.

@azeivio - Oops, I got a bit carried away there :) Lunokhod 1 actually landed 1 year and 4 months after Apollo 11, where it landed between the Apollo missions 13 and 14, hence your claim the USSR put a reflector on the moon before Apollo is completely wrong. And again, it was the LRO probe that rediscovered Lunokhod 1, using the same technology that photographed the Apollo landing sites. And to fake it would be pointless when so many probes are on their way to the moon in a few years.

More recently, someone told me NASA didn't land in 1969-72, but instead they went to the moon years later using anti-gravity craft launched from the south pole (thought it was joking at first, but he was serious). One thing I notice about conspiracy believers is that despite often having different claims, they don't fight each other (brothers in arms perhaps?), only with those who accept the official line :)

because the Russians moon rocket the M1 kept blowing up, it had so many engines the failure rate potential was astronomical compared to the 5 main engines of the saturn 5. That CCCP rocket needed a complete re-design, which was not going to happen once the USA got there to the moon. Much like the NASA proposal for its new moon project, it will be too complex for its own good, I counted 5 or 6 re-entry parachute sequences....why ?

@woolcroft No, most people accept the evidence that the Pyramids were built by the third dynasty around 2500 B.C, and I've yet to meet anyone who believes lizard people rule te U.S. There is, however, a clear majority of people finding reason to doubt the official 9/11 conspiracy theory, and a growing number questioning NASA's claims. I'm afraid the real nutters these days are the people who still believe a word the government says.

What it does make clear, is that authors are good, very good at NLP and their "logic" wouldn't last 5 seconds under legimate inquiry. Not to mention, that they are clearly biased as stated at the begining.

After years of watching the overwhelming evidence proving it was a hoax, I would think I'd come up with complex reasons as to why I believe the hoax. But like most of the end result thoughts I've had from many other dilemmas in my life, I usually go full circle and find that the simplest of ideas are the best answers. I soon came to the realization that it wasn't the first time Govt. lied to the people, so why would anyone doubt the moon rides also weren't lied about?
