I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT "PRINCESS MONONOKE", which Japan submitted and is - as of yet - the ONLY Miyazaki film submitted for Foreign Film, was NOT NOMINATED.
"PRINCESS MONONOKE" was hands-down the best foreign film of that year, period.
That man who was shouting was showing NO RESPECT during the announcement of the nominations: These are make-or-break moments in actors' careers. He should have been WAY more respectful, especially to Geena Davis, aka "Thelma".

Yeah, 97 was the year that his Private Parts movie came out. Here was a recap of Howard Stern mentioning this on his show the next day: Howard and Robin listened to the live feed of the Academy Awards this morning to see if ''Private Parts'' would get nominated for anything. Well there were none of course. Melrose Larry Green did make it inside somehow and yelled out Howard's name while the Best Actor nominations were being read. Howard was pissed that his movie was ignored.

Titanic would've broken the record if the Academy had brains and nominated Leonardo DiCaprio.
Also, I'd replace Gloria Stuart with Kathy Bates in Supporting Actress.
