It maybe true that the Xbox 360 cannot perform 100% 1080p and rather rely on 720p to do most of the work secretly upscaling itself to give the illusion of 1080p but thats the same with the PS3 although the PS3 has instances where it performs in 1080p on Blu Rays and exclusive PS3 titles most third party and multiplatform games mostly design the games to run at 720p native for the PS3 as well as having lower frame rate and quality. This gaming generations been playing too much with 720p.
You should make a test taking a screen-shot of a complex game that are in the 3 platforms: xbox360, ps3 and pc running at 1080p. Then compare those pictures. Because i think that the playstation 3 is not able to run a complex game like Rage for example without upscaling.

I have notice that some Xboxs dont have the HDMI output and only have the AV to HDMI cords. Anyone that says anything negative about this video are butthurt Xbox fanboys. However, test a 1080p video that shows a still of an image with alternating black and white pixels and it displays it properly. Both consoles are more than capable of running in 1080p however very few disc games run natively in 1080p. If the Xbox 360 couldn't run 1080p and they claimed it could, you bet your ass that someone would have sued by now.

Debunked. Stop perpetuating this crap and post an update. The problem is the photo viewer on the Xbox 360 that smooths every picture it shows. However, test a 1080p video that shows a still of an image with alternating black and white pixels and it displays it properly. Both consoles are more than capable of running in 1080p however very few disc games run natively in 1080p. If the Xbox 360 couldn't run 1080p and they claimed it could, you bet your ass that someone would have sued by now.

PS3 GPU clocks at 550 megahertz.
Xbox GPU 360 clocks at 500 megahertz.
There you have it. The GPU in the PS3 is slightly faster than the 360.

I just want you to know that it doesn't fucking matter what you can display, most games run lower resolution on PS3 and scale up, while they run 720p on xbox, they are smaller res stretched to that size on ps3. Fact for cod, fact for GTA IV, fact for many games...
PS3 is better. LA Noire shows that CLEARLY. It has AO and better self shadowing on characters on PS3. And higher res. PS3 is taking over the consoles.
But consoles are for FAGGOTS anyway. PC is the best, fuck everything else.

The Xbox360 Picture-viewer scales everything, that's why you don't get a native picture.
Games are displayed in native 1080p, if they are programmed in 1920x1080. (Look at Virtua Tennis 3 Demo in 1080p)
