He should have been headlining your festivals since the early 90's...

Not having him actually discredits your festivals in a way. It reveals that the people who set these things up are still too close-minded and too self-centered, and that they live in a cultural bubble of sorts. And that business is still too important a concern when arranging these kinds of events, which, supposedly, are about art.
