  • how fast is it really supposed to be? It's a tough piece with some crazy ass left hand fingerings!

  • I wish I had better judgement so I wouldn't have read the cheesy comments about the 'nuances' of your tone or criticisms about 'color and dynamics'...sounds good, IS GOOD. I alternated between your video and Segovia's while I was learning this piece, and there are a bunch of idiot comments on Segovia's video too. Great job at both speeds.

  • both were cool. i just think it's interesting how you switched right hand position. i'm trying to figure out where i want to play it...over the sound hole or close to the bridge.

  • Yes, I like the slower version too. Beautiful playing, thanks for sharing

  • Absolutely delightful! It's a shame about the poor sound quality (hissing) though.

    Keep up the good work!

  • check out the synthesized version of this prelude, Youtube title CARLOS FUTURA Bach For Bachelors 1979 Christian Bruhn Synth

  • To much gain and presence the guitar sounds like a bass.

  • The nails need a bit of work, but great left hand technique. As a fellow Classical guitarist, i suggest you involve more Color and Dynamics. Bach was amazing at hiding them in his works so you can add them wherever you like as long as they flow like a river in comparison to other composers where certain parts of the piece require certain color/tone. Great work

  • nice! its interesting how Bach pieces work well at more than one tempo

  • Absolutely lovely.................great acoustics.................They are both good, it all depends on the scene you want to set.

  • man, you are such a good player! Amazing

  • o beurifull can upload the tabs in you page plz =) thx for the music

  • its 16th notes in the original transcriptions why does everyone play it slow?

  • @yuepon13 then try to play it faster but in this qualy *hit*

    sry but first be better

Then you can cry about this shit

  • @RedMoonAfterBlackSun

sure ill give you a link later man but its a deal

  • @yuepon13 okay then i don´t say anything^^

    but the link....

can you give it please *.*

  • @RedMoonAfterBlackSun

oh btw i din't know he played it fast after the slow version. also ill do a video for this prelude i only have one for recuerdos de la alhambra :(

  • @yuepon13 i´ll be waiting ^^ let it all the time can i have the other link too?

  • @RedMoonAfterBlackSun

    no hard feelings

  • @yuepon13 does it really matter? nobody is mutilating the work, and it still sounds beautiful. so stfu

  • good job!

  • you're very good !

  • Beautifull my friend , beautifull !

  • Hmm, i like your playin, but to be honest: Stay with the slow version, but play it more "emotional"- this is a piece from baroc, there was the 30- years war in europe, ppl saw death every day and thought of dyin and loosin their lives, like "memento mori" and "carpe diem", so bach componed this piece and it tells about the emotions from that days in history. The slow version, played accurate and nicely shows the emotions of that dramatic days, the fast version is somehow... hmm... "unfitting"...

  • From a violinist, I LOVED your version of this Bach Prelude. I've heard others play this slower, but I liked this speed better. You make it look so easy, but I know it's not. I can't wait to watch your other Youtube pieces. I could listen to you play all day. Thanks!

  • O.o nice job on both slow an fast version.

  • slower

  • advent did not keep a journal to remind one of one's humility when he began his training obviously, and is now wasting energy on yet another unecessary phase that he could have avoided

  • なにこれかっけえw

  • This isn't very hard actually :)

  • well played....bach is a mind-blower!!

  • Great job! I wish I could play it this well!

I usually like slower versions of things better, but this time, I actually like the flavour of the fast version.

  • いいっすね〜

    (● ̄▽ ̄●) ろくざ

  • when your playing it fast your cuting of the last note of each phrase or muffleing the last note..... just a heads up

  • bach was just tooo good.

  • both are great keep up the good work

  • maestro que talento

  • Nice version my friend !! greeetings Bram

  • wish i could play it this well!!

  • wow ich muss ganz schön üben

  • Magnifique ! mais pourquoi vous cachez-vous ?

  • What kind of Guitar are you playing? Sounds good...

  • I like.

  • Simpsons season 19 Episode 14

  • Exact!

i searched this music for a while!

i never heard it before this episode!

    Nelson is awesome lool

  • Amazing both versions are fantastic! The fast version rates up there with Segovia's version which you can easily find on youtube. I do like to see the 7-3 stretch near the end before going major instead of hammer on easy way out :-) Cheers Jeremy

  • I definitely preferred the slower version - great job on this.

  • I wish I had better speakers just so I could hear the nuances of your tone.

from a cello player to a fellow musician.

    <3

  • Youtube sound quality?

  • God, U R amasing

  • I posted this on another vid of the same piece and ill say it again: the hardest part of this piece is the last measure where it comes to an abrupt stop, like waking up from a dream. YOU almost got it.

  • I like the first since it ws relaxing I guess... the second one was really impressive though XD

  • i liked the fast version as well

  • possible, 5 string 8 fret

  • Therer is a mistake at 0:56 in bass. It has to be F, not E. cuz, who has arr. BWV 999 years ago is stupid asshole

  • ya it is supposed to be an F, but because its a 6 string guitar playing an F on that chord is physically impossible. The piece was originally written for the lute, an instrument that was capable of playing that F in the bass.

  • It's not impossible. I know several guitarists, myself included, whose hands are big enough to make the stretch.

  • no it's an E; it's a pedal tone on the dominant. he's already in A.

  • you play very good....

  • Bach is bach and it's supposed to be played as he wished for it to be played.

The first part where you played the song how it is supposed to be played was wonderful, really brilliant, but the 2nd part where you played it fast. Why? Cause if it was to show off i think you really should go somewhere else, cause those who come here to watch this video, are hopefully only after the song itself, not a guy who's after our aknowledge for ruining a piece by playing it too fast.

  • He's free to his own interpretation...no one is forcing you to listen to this...just like Glenn Gould played Bach way too fast, he was still admired for his ability and interpretation.

  • i think playing stuff faster for the purpose of technique practice is fine. but for performance it should be played correctly of course.

  • this was intended for faster playing than this!

  • how do you know? unless bach indicated the tempo, we can't really know that...

  • no but they call it common practice for a reason! We have a really good idea of what that common practice is and this is not it! Go watch a smarter musician's vids and you'll see

  • what do you mean by 'common practice'?

  • 1. aside the fact that we cant know that, afterall its called an interpretaion,

    2. u could also argue that it wasnt intended for guitar anyways...

    3. there is some evidence that alot of music was intended to be played slower

...it comes down to it sounds nice

  • you obviously don't listen to classical music if you think noone can.

  • Comment removed

  • Bream plays it pretty fast....

  • That's an overstatement. As fast as it was I know several professional classical guitarists who could play that, given practice.

  • the idea is nice but faster nah!!!

  • both are beautiful, thanks for uploading!

  • it's a brilliant idea to increase your speed dude .

but i think , faster doesn't always mean better .

if we still can enjoy that note with that speed . that's good . but , if we can't enjoy that note , that's the opposite .

Keep up your brilliant work ^-^ !!

  • Sorry, meant guy.

  • does that make me wrong? classical guitar is a serious devotion man

  • ahhhhh the tone is TERRIBLE!!! it's too thick all the time. Turn the eq off and let the guitar sing. That's what takes practice and that's what takes skill. any monkey can learn the notes.

Sorry, the playing is good but i don't understand this at all. The guitar is a beautiful instruments and needs no eq

  • thejugglenaut91:

I just looked up your vids, and your interpretation of Bach is nowhere to be found.

Please direct us to it so that we might learn from your brilliance.

    Beautifully played.

Sound quality is not recording studio, but hey, this is YOUTUBE for Chrissakes! Mostly mono, mostly bad sound quality... but tons of talent as this gal demonstrated.

    Kudos.

    Nicely done.

  • agree

  • there's nothing wrong with playing it faster for practice. but in performance it should be done correctly, i agree.

  • and who's to say which is correct?

  • you have a nice tone from your guitars cheers my fellow guitarist

  • Wow! Simply wow:)

  • you are right men

  • wow!

  • i m sure you can play it a little faster ,and you ll find it more joyful .you are playing segovia s transcription.?

  • okay ,thats it and congratulation ,i commented before seeing the second part

  • You are a real master man... I love your playing style (and I love your version of Lilium, really amazing *_*)

  • Both were amazing, i prefer the slower but the fast is still VERY nice sounding.

  • wow...i hate guitar but THIS isnt bad sounds very good

  • you're great, dude!

  • lol @ the ending messages. Both were Amazing i am more partial to the last one because i love a quicker pace overall in music. (Paul Gilbert fan)

  • Wow !!

    Very speed at the end.

  • where to get music

  • great

  • woooooohhhhhhhyhmmmmmyyyyygoooooooooooodddddd

  • exactly how i learnt it, glad someone else is playing it right......

  • Just out of curiosity, what kind of mistakes do you think he's avoiding?

  • Mistakes hes avoiding?

  • You said he's playing it right. How would he be playing if he'd be playing it wrong? :)

  • He would be fucking wrong then wouldnt he.... Do you play it wrong then. x

  • A good work to exercise its technique, however speed is not nothing without interpretation!

  • Beautifull

  • Hey I know how to play this too !!!! =D

  • Oh, lovely. Thank you for posting this

  • brilliant!!=)

  • GJ ! geiles stück!
