  • i like old guns mp 40,mg 40,fg 42,k98k scoped,bar rifle,m1 garand,thompson,m1919a6 .30 cal,sten,bren lmg,type 100,type 89,wichester rifle,gatling gun,double barrel shotgun bazookas...

  • WHOOOA THAT WAS-

  • It's a good thing these guns jammed up all the time early on. I think the Civil War was brutal enough with out it.

  • This shit is amazing... Most people see it demonstrated and don't believe it isn't a modern invention. The machinery is genius...

  • This thing would rip a thousand of Pancho's men to jibblets. Ah the good ol days when guns where simpler

  • @Trashcansam123 Exactly, This is why I wish gun innovation would have stopped in 1945. Plus that was back in the day where your only armor was the shirt on your back. Why cant the world just stay the way it was back then, when men were men and not stuck up assholes that think they can take on 40 people?

  • Who else heard the baby at the end saying "Woah, that was-"

  • Dear santa...

  • WHta does he eat! LOL

  • I lol'd at the kid near the end. I wonder how his sentence ended...

  • @ELOFTW whoa that was kinkyyyyy

  • Southpark.

    Back in eighteenseventyfouuuur!

    xD

  • 6 people are scared of mahcine guns

  • Comment removed

  • can these reenactors get in front of it and use live ammunition?

  • last samurai style

  • is a modern copy or not , the original ??

  • GATLING GUN OF AMERICAN CIVIL WAR IS NOT OF SELFLOADING SISTEMA. IS TYPICAL CAPITALIST APPROACH OF MORE IS BETTER. INSTEAD OF SINGLE STRONG BARREL OF PROUD WORKMANSHIP, IS MANY EXPENSIVE BARREL ON WHEEL LIKE REVOLVER. ONE CONSCRIPT HE SPIN CRANK; OTHER CONSCRIPT HE SWEEP ENEMIES DOWN LIKE FIST OF DRUNKEN GOD.

  • @nofx1091 Yer obviously a dumbass communist and an idiot who hasn't got the teensiest idea of engineering. The Gatling gun was designed with multiple barrels so the barrels would not overheat.

  • @capnmikes

I couldn't have laughed more. Reminds me of that old commercial for clothes being modeled in an iron curtain fashion show, "Is eveningk ware".

  • @joesphx19

OK, I found it, an old Wendys commercial: watch?v=5CaMUfxVJVQ

  • @joesphx19 NAGANT REVOLVER IS FROM TIME OF BEFORE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR BUT STILL CONTAINS STRONG RUSSIAN TECHNOLOGICAL SISTEMA. WESTERN REVOLVER IS LOOSE LIKE BAD WHORE BUT NAGANT REVOLVER IS TIGHT BECAUSE TWO CHARACTERS OF OPERATION. AS CONSCRIPT HE FALLS TRIGGER, WHEEL OF NAGANT SISTEMA ROLLS NEXT CHAMBER INTO PLACE FOR SHOOT. WHEEL LOCKS FORWARD TO MAKE GOOD TIGHT SEAL OF CHAMBER TO BARREL. REAR OF BARREL ALSO SQUEEZE HARD THE BALLOONING CASE. EXTRA POWER IS HELD TO FART BULLET TOWARD MUZZLE.

  • @nofx1091

No need to sell me on that, Soviet weapons are well thought of world-wide. AK is my close in support and I am a fan of Russian weapons. I have never fired a Nagant but will one day.

  • @nofx1091 Farting bullets?. I bet even Chuck Norris can't profess to be capable of such a feat.

  • @capnmikes Why dont people have a sense of humor nowadays? Is it because of osama binladen?

  • I love old guns. :'D

  • American children - the most powerful and rapid-firing machine gun in the world - is Russian gatling gun GSh-30 and GSH-23! And he does not need power, unlike the U.S. ... Cowboys - go feed the sheep better!

  • @silvermitriy which richard gatling let them produce their own versions of it

  • @silvermitriy M61 Vulcan which fires 20mm rounds, its used on most military aircraft including the F22 Raptor.

  • its an awsome gun they need to make a new version of it whit a 50 cal and still whit the old slow firing

  • This might sound stupid, but are the gun's barrels rifled?

  • The machine gun has come full circle. It started with the Gatling gun then came back to the Gatling gun.

  • Great video, but I can load faster than that.

  • wish i had one now lol

  • Great video

  • I'd like it even better if it was cranked faster.

  • Gatling gun is my favorite gun

  • the older guns are much more interesting this gatling gun the tommy the bar rifle the mp40 all looked much more lethal than the modern plastic bull pups.

  • @44madhatter

Totally. Hell, even the relatively new AK-47 and AKM rifles are far more intimidating than the ultramodern polymer ones. Not saying I'd LIKE to be SHOT by and M16 or SA-80, though. Lol.

  • how come some of the shots sounded more muffled than others?

  • WOAH THAT WAS...??????

  • EPIC!

  • The first MG. :P 5/5 Stars! :)

  • Compare this with the gattling gun tomorrow :)

  • That was like... The first gatlin gun that was made?

  • More RPM please, move more fast like vulcan cannon!!

  • cant...the gattling was prone to jamming if u crank it too fast

  • @astrolopitequs23, the Vulcan Cannon is an improved version of the Gattling Gun, so there is your improvement to the original mostly.

  • can i use this 4 school

  • yes

  • can i use this on school

  • yes

  • @ObserveTheBanana Can I report these guys and claim delicious tattletale money?

  • @ObserveTheBanana can i use this on my teacher (she is stupid)

  • Comment removed

  • actually the mini-gun is a smaller version of the M61 Vulcan gun found on fighter jets like F16 and such. the M61 got the idea from the Gatling. later the M61 was scaled down for use on helicopters and was called M134 or the "mini-gun"

  • so if u spin the thing faster, does it shoot faster? or it have a certain speed

  • nope this one has a certain speed if u crank it too fast it will jam

  • Yesterday's minigun lol :P

  • Jesus that would be lethal to infantry in line formation

  • No, actually it wasnt. This was meant for cavalry because its so inaccurate yet so fast. This would be effective in a line battle but not as effective as what you think

  • its the bottom barrels that do the firing while the top ones get reloaded right?

  • woo dat was awsome!

  • That's funny, cause the bullet casing wasn't invented until the mid-late 1800's and the primer wasn't invented until the early 1800's. The only think REMOTELY close to the Gatling was the British Defense (Puckle) Gun. Learn your history.

  • Australia was first settled by Europeans in 1788. The Aborgines (natives) inveted a gatling gun???? lol lol lol lol lol!!!!! they weren't far past cracking two rocks together to make a fire.

  • no it was invented by chrles a gatlink form england

  • lol this is one of those used in the civil war. am i right?

  • Yeah the civil war and shortly after until the introduction of true machine guns.

  • very few saw use in the civil war, it's a Hollywood myth that there were many Gatlings in use by the union army

their biggest time of glory was the Spanish-American war of 1898

  • i like how they kept them aimed at waist level

  • I kind of expected it to have higher rate of fire..

from what i see in the movies i guess..

  • depends on how fast you crank it.

  • lol you must be thinking of the M134. that's a whole another animal. this is the old version designed by Gatling himself.

  • bella caffettiera,,,

  • Gatlings had virtually nothing to do with Gettysburg. I can't even find evidence there was one present.

  • oh, really? i thought the gatlin gun was the reason the union troops - although far less in numbers - they succeeded against the csa armies. but please, if i am wrong, i ask for apology. i didn't mean to spread false information.

  • Hey, no worries!

  • from what i've come to understand is that the union won because the hid behind cover and became what was called the 'hornets nest' because the rebels couldn't get close without being mowed down by enemies they couldn't hit

  • I guess that's also true. It's a combination of situatons that helped the North to win, I suggest. What do you think?

  • the efficient blockade by the Union Navy meant the Confederacy couldn't get guns or supplies from other countries, neither could they ever hope to bargain for help

  • @WASPTexas What are your sources for history?

  • The North had better industrial capabilities, more men, more supplies, and the means to move all that to the front much more efficiently than the South.

  • very few gatling guns were used in the civil war

look that fact up yourself if you don't believe me

  • @TG0G0, there was use of them at some of the later battles like Seven Days Battle. But rapid fire guns never had the chance to be deploy really in the Civil War, not that it needed even more deadly weapons than the ones it already had. I literally envision the Civil War turning into a 1860's version of WWI had such terrible guns become available sooner.

  • @TG0G0 They weren't invented until 1864, one year later so that is why.

  • you don't have a clue about what you are talking about

there were no Gatlings in Gettysburg in 1863, and they did NOT win the battle for the Union army, the Springfield rifle did

fact is there were few Gatlings used in the civil war, they only became somewhat common by the 1870's years after the war had ended

  • no civil war to WWII (WWII used on planes) got replaced in WWI

  • No, that was the Civil War.

  • There is no video footage of the war.

  • Yeah buddy they had sound and color video in the 1870's UHUH.

  • 1861-65, man. But you're definitely on target.

  • BHAWHAHAHAHHAAAA!

    Dumbest comment ever!

  • omfg lol that's so funny!!! P

  • yeah, this dude was trying to sell me one and other civil war memorabilia..

  • the big problem with mny of the early versions of these guns was that they jammed easily because they lacked a cooling system.

  • Yes also the ammunition sometimes wasn't truly replicated/identical (dimensions of cartridges etc). You can imagine the effect of one of these cranked/ reloaded fast with one guy just aiming it against Zulu's etc!.

Over 500 rp/minute was regularly recorded when our army tested them, made an motor spun one, did 1200+ that's 20 rounds a second, vulcan/minigun anyone

  • as fast as a WW2 MG42, which I find hard to believe, especially since the MG42's main weakness it used up its ammo belts so quickly it needed to be reloaded often

  • My arm would hurt. :C

  • They say that the 10 barrled gatling gun has a firing rate of 1200 rounds per minute

  • How did they manage to cool the barrels with 2 rounds going off every second for each of the 10 barrells?

even the Maxim guns in WWI had trouble with cooling despite having huge water jackets and far better metal, yet those fired at 500-600rpm

  • You are implying that these fired 20 rounds a second, as you can see they were a lot slower, 3-4 rounds a second tops.

So, each barrel is only firing about 20 rpm.

  • I love classic gatling guns.

  • it was cranked ususally during the war they cranked fast

  • faster than a musket. but ya compared to the new ones thats extremely slow.

  • It is from 1874! Check up on history geesh.

  • awsome!!!

  • the purpose of big dangerous weapons is that it shows it is better to strive for peace than to blow eachother up.so keep on shooting and see how dangerous it is.

  • wow no recoil !!!! but is it accurate??????????

  • It has little recoil because it's shooting blanks.

  • Man imagine if they had this during the Civil war... ouch.

  • Actually, they did,

Richard Gatling invented the Gatling gun in 1861 and received a patent in 1862,

in 1863 he manufactured several hundred,

and he got a contract from the Union Army in 1864,

in 1865, the last year of the Civil War,

the Union Army used it in a few battles,

this is just the 1874 model, not the original,

the Gatling gun remained the most effective machine gun until the Maxim gun was invented in 1864 and later the Browning Automatic Rifle,

  • the maxim gun wasn't invented until the 1880's

then the Maxim was improved by the British into the Vickers, arguably the best machine gun in World War One

  • I meant 1884 not 1864.

Thanks for telling me about my typo.

I didn't notice it until you pointed it out.

  • I think it wasn't tha BAR m1918 but the Browning HMG and afterwards the Browning M2HB (still used today)

  • You are right ,also Gatling was born in North Carolina,Invented a steam plow, his Brother tried to invent a airplane, before The Wright Brothers.Colt Bought the patent ,

  • @ultimatmus a gattling gun is not a machine gun though

  • PrUnEJulcEtHeThirD, they did!!

  • would it be great if they built a gatling gun that is x2 the speed less or no recoil do more damage and less weight...that would be cool

  • Look at the description, it's out of 1874 (if I understood it right). I think this is pretty nice for that time.

  • Nice.

  • hm. no recoil? nice. accurate.

  • It has a little recoil, but that's because it's shooting blanks. If it were shooting bullets, there would be more recoil.

  • I love the orginal Gatling Gun, nice vid!

  • can it be mounted in an helicopter?

    hihihihihi

  • sure - if you want to ride on the landing skid and turn the crank and feed the magazines

  • lol
