"Try to earn what lover's own" quite possibly the single most brilliant lyric ever compossed. Loggins is an absolute genius.....but he's a liar as well. I've seen interviews where he claimed to have written this song for Anne Murray. Bullshit, guys don't hold the world in a paper cup....girls do.

@cornskid Loggins wrote the song for his brother when his brother's son Collin was born. Anne Murray just covered it (like many many artists do).

watched this 3 yrs. ago during my pregnancy since I love the song and am a passions fan. was alone while hubby was down range in iraq...so many thanks to you b.c. it kept my spirits up during that depressing period living overseas, alone and unable to communicate well in the host country language. i dedicated this song to my son and i played this often for us, it calmed him and helped him sleep well as an infant.
