I always liked the blend of Paris's militant lyrics, combined with the Parliament-Funkadelic style funk this hip hop track has, it's like peanut butter n' jelly, Paris bumpin' straight "fiyah" 90's hip hop, no doubt...
@BrainWashingSociety are you serious? like, it's a video , and it's like, i dunno, totally like made, with like actors and cameras and stuff and it costs like money to do it, and it was like made by the like

@markmarktarmann his record company? with money? u are a lil ignorant, lke scarface records when tommy boy dumped him afgter his debut, guerrilla funk records is his own company ain't no big recor label behind him,, they all ru n scared
yeah i grew up with this type of concious, meaningful rap.....i loved sleeping with the enemy but i tried special ordering it, all the store could give me was his first the devil made me do it, then his latest two sonic jihad and acid reflux....they said they same about guerilla funk...
bottom line we know more rapers like chuk d krs one k rino paris etc
@corymartin100 That's why we should be glad that he's still around hey? I don't miss Paris, simply because, just like PE he's still around....BTW he's working on a new album.
Daaag.... I haven't heard this shit forever! Thank god for a stoner memory! Smoked a couple bowls and remembered it was from Paris! Thank you my nukka!!
Paris ain't bitin cube this was his style from day one, if anything it's the other way around, Paris was spittin conscious hip hop when cube was still spittin gangsta shit back in '90, cube didn't start doin conscious hip hop until late '90, or early '91, and got heavy into it around '92, meanwhile, Paris had this style every since he first started back in '89, so no, Paris ain't bitin Cube's style, it's the other way around, it didn't matter though because they both respected one another.
@kingsun0064 Okay my bad I thought they had a similar style too bad they didn't do a album while back in the 90's would have sold like hotcakes!!!!!!!!!
1: Ice Cube been around since '84, 5 years before Paris.
2: Cube has always had the same style and flow.
3: In 1990 he dropped his first solo-album "Amerikkka's most wanted", definitely packing political arguments and such, making him a "conscious rapper".
4: He also did that with NWA's "F*** the police" (one of the most impactant songs of the last 20 years)
5: In this video you can SEE that Paris stole the Amerikkka thing from Cube
@d0nk3yM4n Really? Stole the Amerikkka spelling from Cube. To be more accurate, Cube was still a member of NWA, 5 years prior to Paris (i.e.,The Devil Made Do It, 1989). Politically better! No disrespect, I am a fan of Cube but intellectually and educationally he could not hold Paris's jock. Now that my friend that is an empirical fact! He is a UC-Davis Graduate. On another note, just because it has not been seen by the majority, does not necessarily mean that it was stolen. Peace.
@d0nk3yM4n You are fucking dumb as fuck man noboy was biting styles they were affiliated with Nation of Islam and panthers, there was a lot of people repping Nation of Islam with that conscious style since the 80's. Cube and Paris weren't the first but both rapped politically at the same time 1990, not that it matters a fuckin bit anyway
@kingsun0064 I don't think anyone bit the other. Cube was semi conscious in N.W.A but mostly gangsta, then he went more conscious in 90 with AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted and fully in Death Certificate. Paris mostly got his style from Public Enemy (he said it himself on "Back in the Days") and debuted around the same time as Cube's first album came out. Both are originators and legends in the game!
Love how the snitch (snitching orignating when the FBI Cointelpro was infiltrating the Panthers- it has nothing to do with reporting street crimes) got his in the end.
hey guerilla funk recordings, why did you report the channels tuckdragon and PG023 ? these channels were invaluable in bringing to light a lot of unreleased underground indie rap from the 80s n 90s that millions of people would never would have got to hear, im sure if you would just have sent private messages to the channel owners they would have removed whatever songs you wanted but man, for you guys to just report them like that was terrible, these channels were literally hip hop history
@FiswaT yes they did, its so sad how much good music was lost, and im sure those guys werent doing it to get paid but to celebrate the music from the great artists they posted, but i guess the guys at guerrilla funk got what they wanted, good job guys, taking down a channel that had music that you probably werent getting paid for anymore anyway, good job guys good job.what you dont understand is that the indie/underground/classic hip hop fans are the ones that actually buy music ,but good job.
@esswun yea its the right thing to say that 90s was the last age of rap u had pac and rap had meaning to it now its done for just money. u got lame ass souja boy and all these lames now rip 90s rap golden era rap will never be that good
@vcabalda Word up! This was one of my favorite songs back in 1994 when I saw it on Rap City. Then in 1996/1997 when I first saw The Substitute on HBO, it became one of my favorite movies of all time! Good follows good I guess! :P

Paris is dope. So underrated. At least here in europe. Great rapper and great man with great attitude. Respect for life. Can't wait till the show this thursday.
hey, u seem to kno alot about PARIS, well i just started tah listen to some of his songs, my favorite is 'One Time Fo' Ya Mind', i like him alot but in alot of his songs sound prejudice and i got the idea he doesnt like mexicans, well im mexican and i wanna know if he DOESNT like mexicans, do you know if he does or not?
Nah. There's no race that Paris hatesor something. Paris is political rapper. For him more important is political situation. He's defending his race in the age of racism, no doubd. Buthe's still performing in Europe. Would anyone who is against white race do that? His track may seem like they're against white race but listen to "TheDaysOf Old" at his web page. Then you'll realize he is above this shit. Paris is fighting for better tomorrow for everybody, not just for African Americans.
It'slike his priority may be defending Arican Americans but altogether he wants to take race barriers down. Don't careto much about viddeos. They just make you focus on what he is doing. Listen to more tracks and his albums. Do research yourself, this is what he wants youto do. Don't base your mind on one single track or article. Use yourmind, find out the truth yourself. Sorry form my grammar, i'm still learning.
oh, thanks because i thought he might be racist against mexicans because i know theres a black gang in LA thats racist against mexicans and i thought it might be Black Guerillas
defenetly man u were wrong. First of all he`s not talking about any type of gang or some. When the brother talks about black guerrillas talks about the liberation of black and brown people. Not about confrontation between blacks and mexicans. To me he`s the king of old school...
Don't say Hip Hop is dead if you havent listend to Acid Reflex. This is to all those kids saying hip hop is dead because theyre rebelling against popular wrap by saying 90s was better.
Anyway... This track is dope and the video makes it 10x better, I still bump the Guerilla Funk cd.
See him live: 18.02.2009 Beatevolution special Check The Rhyme live: Paris The Alkaholiks The Beatnuts Lords Of The Underground Jeru The Damaja DJs: Mystic Roots, Beatevolutioners Aftershow Party @ Cassiopeia 18.02.2009 @ Maria Berlin/ Germany

Anyway... This track is dope and the video makes it 10x better, I still bump the Guerilla Funk cd.

it's from 94, but the album was rereleased in 2003 or so, think that's why it says "© 2003"..

As alwayz, P Dog duz it like it should be duz.
Dont think he went less "hardcore" but rather had a more concentrated focus on political issues.
