  • Pardon, not the "where are you call," but the 'This is my territory" call. More barklike.

  • Looks like he's on defence, letting his mate know there may be danger. That's possible. It sounds a little bit like the red fox "Where are you?" call. He sure is pretty. :3

  • @IndigoCat17 I agree. They are beautiful. They sound like little dogs.

  • There are several sounds playing in this video. The high pitched whistle is a juvenile mountian lion vocalization, and the sound playing at the end of the video is juvenile gray fox distress. There are other prey distress sounds like mice/voles too. Why does the fox sit & bark? No one knows exactly why, but my best guess is that it just doesn't know what's going on and the bark is just a reaction to the sound stimulus.

  • What I don't get is that the call sounds like a prey distress call, and all the fox wants to do is bark.

  • @Zinkyness It might be that it can't see or smell the other animals.
