  • and thats how babies are made

  • starter went in at 2:36

  • @goodolcountryboy89 proud of you

  • O video é bacana, mas essa musica não tem nada a ver!!!

  • So i can build an LS6 engine in three minutes? lol

  • ahhh perfect, I am an engineer now

  • but i know... we'll root again some random daaaaayyyyy ♫

  • my step dad has a small block in his 53 buick

  • awsome very interesting

  • ok about when did u but the starter in it i didnt see it geting put on

  • I can legitly picture gm engine assembly workers singing to this playing on the intercom

  • i want to start a project building a V8 from scratch, I really dont have any mechanic experience or any thing. Is it possible for the average guy to try to do this in their garage, and if so does anybody know any good guides, and where to start on a project like this for a beginner?

  • @DevinWhiteman Same here pal im currently trying to get a hold of a ford 460 v8 as my car needs a complete overhaul, yes I do believe even the average guy can do it...

But definitely suggest you either pick up a haynes manual or other books which focus on rebuliding v8's, you know complete tear down and reassembling the engine again, these books are available online at amzon or even on ebay.

    Hope that helps.

  • if building the engine was that easy! lol

  • Hard to believe that GM still makes motors with an overhead valve design. Not saying that's a bad thing, just that almost everyone else has went to overhead camshafts

  • @ncsufan1 Most manufacturers still make engines with overhead valves. ;)

  • @ncsufan1 Well the reason for that is nobody has figured out how to build a V8 engine that can be manufactured in 4.8L to 7.0L configurations with 300-650 hp tunes, is cheaper to build then a DOHC V6, and is reliable.

That is why the Chevy Small Block will live on till there is no gasoline left in the world.

  • @unkillsam when gas run out they samp to hydrogen

  • @anttiroivainen *swap

  • thanks for excelent illustration...i am rebuilding my 350 block now...is the cylinder order correct...so i can use same order once i re assemble?

    thanks...nova

  • LS7 or LS3. One bolt cam gear and rectangle intake ports are clearly NOT of an LS6. Great video though. These engines really are that simple as the video makes them look. I love all the LS engines.

  • @ledbetterbrothers hey do you know if all ls engines were direct injected engines? or where i can find more information about them? i wanna learn all about the LS engines because i hear lots of people debating different information about it i wanna find out for my self thanks for reading this please reply

  • @mrcool28x None of the LS engines are direct fuel injected, if that is what you mean by injected. If you want to get a good start on learning about LS engines I would recommend getting "How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines" by Chris Werner and "How to Build High-Performance Chevy LS1/LS6 V-8s" by Will Handzel. Those books cover all the basics about these engines and will get you going in the right direction. Take care.

  • @ledbetterbrothers thanks so much i will definetly look into this. thanks!

  • only thing is GM sucks

  • @adfadfewfrewafawefaw but you blow, and thats worse.

  • nice ls3

  • @Ls3guy its a ls6 not ls3

  • @natep246 its a ls3 becuase you can not put ls3 heads on a ls6

  • hate to nitpick but he forgot the pushrods, lol.

  • @thegreatgodkirby i dont think he did .... 1:42 i think

  • @thegreatgodkirby no he didnt look closely at 1:42

  • damn

  • it falls in to place lol

  • good job

  • Too Bad GM did not get it like fords 302, and finally do what the racers have been doing for thirty years. Finally just in time for the 350 to get axed by the EPA, now GM fans are stuck with V6's,that get eaten by Fords. But we all know now GM management has their heads up their asses,by telling you your not to call your Chevy a Chevy,It's Chevrolet my good man RV

  • @rovinvideo if gm's v8 is getting the axe so is fords new 302

  • make the gm 6.2 diesel! :D

  • does this song mean that some day all these engines will be sitting in the cars at the junkyard together just like the old muscle cars?

  • @65438922 Doubt it

  • its sad to know that them old cars are all dead and wrecked

  • but i may be wrong im only 15 but i did do alot of work on CAD and its similar

  • they probably used cad or something like that

  • Excellent bud! What software was this model drawn in? as a mechanical Engineer im interested in purchasing Autodest Inventor as at the moment I use Autocad standard both for 2D detail drawings and 3D models. P.S Sweffe 96 People do indeed draw 3d models for a living and it is there job to do so. I draw for a living. And to be fair nearly everything you own has been draughted up first on the drawing board before being manufactured.

  • its an ls3 guys

  • This video is about as useful as GM Stock

  • You are all freaking retarded

  • What is going in the middle? Looks like a camshaft to me, but wouldnt it need to be above the valves in the cylinder heads?

  • It is a camshaft. This is a push rod motor, not overhead cam.

Damned kids these days with your fancy technology, cell phones, and overhead cams.....

  • All Ive owned is overhead cam cars, but I hear they lack the punch of a push rod engine.

  • @osu33089 Not necessarly so, Think Mustang GT It is how they took a small engine and made the power they did.

  • @215jami THE MUSTANG HAS NO POWER.... AT ALL... AND AS FAR AS THE GT... ITS ALL TRANSMISSION.... TRUST ME I KNOW...

  • @carpadeum2001 all that will change with the 2011 mustang

  • @ProGAMER24 And just what do you think the Camaro will have in 2012? GM will toss in a slightly bigger cam and direct injection and everything will be back to normal, stomping wimpy Mustangs at the track. Mustang is traditionally a second place car.

  • @Roadghost88 no body knows what the 2012 camaro will have and how could you go wrong with 305hp and 31mpg thats second place?!

  • @ProGAMER24 Fuel mileage won't win you any races at the drag strip kid. And the LS1 was doing 28mpg with 320hp over 10 years ago and kicking Mustang's ass all over hell's acre. GM makes the world's fastest V8. Too bad if you're a Ford fan.

  • @Roadghost88 99 f250 7.4 powerstroke almost 50mpg and almost 1000ft/lbs lets see ya whittle bitty ls1 do that

  • @fordboy111591 @fordboy111591 Ford's Powerstroke is a great mill, but shouldn't we be comparing apples to apples here? If you want apples to oranges why not talk about a 500 Detroit Diesel?

  • @Roadghost88 great also but ur talking golf balls to bowling balls lets see u get that huge ass 500 in a single cab f250 lol

  • i was gonna say, kinda looks like a Ls1

but isnt the Ls1-Ls7 kinda all the same?

  • i know we'll meet again. Some suuuunnnnnnnyyy dayyyyyyyyyyyyyy. haha

  • thats scary. i was reading down the comments and i read this as they said it...

  • very helpful. i built an ls6 2 months ago with watchin this over and over.

    nd i it runns great.

    nd im only 16. :)

  • nice

  • whered u get he money for that? im 16 too... lol

  • Comment removed

  • watching this video in no way teaches you how to build and engine. It shows you the parts of and engine and where they are located but it in no way shows and installation of freeze plugs or piston rings for example. It also shows no tourqe sequence or specs for any of the bolts. so i highly doubt you built a running motor just from watching this

  • good just the song suxxxxs a little

  • it was made in program "solid works" ? ;> nice job

  • what the fuck is up with the music

  • how much does it cost to build a stock ls6.please reply

  • You can buy a complete ready to run LS6 from GM Crate Motors for about $5500. That's pretty inexpensive. The only reason you would want to build a stock engine is if you already had some of the major parts.. i.e. block and heads, otherwise you should just build one from scratch with custom parts.

  • thats not an ls6 its a ls1...duh

  • nice ls2 or ls3

  • ls6

  • wrong its a ls3 look at the heads those are l92 heads

  • description said ls6, my bad.

  • the music is killing me.

  • Cool! now build me a real one.

  • damn if only it was tht simple lol

  • if ONLY it were that easy

  • i love autodesk inventor! and this makes me want to go finish the engine i was making. its a 4g63 for a DSM

  • good engine.

  • BRAVO BRAVO!!!

  • The song was nice.

  • *tear* its beautiful

  • somebody has way to much fucking time on thier hands to model every single part then make an assembly presentation of the whole engine

whichmakes me wonder why at the last step they made the whole thing gay with a fucked up song from like the fifties

  • dont be jealous because you cant make animation like this.

  • the only reason i cant is that i dont have the processing power in a computer or the software

or the desire so think what you want, and know that it dosent matter to me anyway

and the song really is bad

in fact it probably would've been better with the sound of a dying monkey behind it

and what made you assume that i was jealous

are you really that fucking dumb

  • if you had the processing equipment you wouldnt even know how to do it. And I enjoyed the song!

  • i am actually decent at autodesk inventor, the program used to design the hummer h2

    so stfu

    please and thank you

  • quit running your mouth, or should I say fingers, unless you can back your shit up.

  • dude please just shut the fuck up

    please and thank you

    dumbfuck

  • ok I will because I dont like arguing with immature, name-calling children.

  • thank you

  • you suck boxcar. get the fuck off the internet.

  • what do you mean "someone" has too much time on their hands? the GM logo in the bottom corner would lead me to believe it was produced by general motors and probably serves some purpose in the assembly or design of the engine. man, when will those engineers get a life

  • Yeah, they need to get a life, they are all acting like its their job to design this stuff.....

  • this song makes me want to hang my self

  • i know... WHAT THE FUCK!

  • "Fuel" by Metallica god damn it-

  • I really needed this vid now i kno wats wrong wit mi ls7 motor in mi 91 firebird. Thanks

  • hehe, im pleased to hear that its made by a Pole :P

  • what exactly is a small block engine someone plz explain thank you

  • It is an American V8 engine! It's technical name is V8 OHV(over head valve). It has a single camshaft in the midle of the V block and 2 valves for each cylinder! The design it's not made by an american but by a polish! Small block as the americans call it stand's aside the big block(HEMI)! The hemi has almost the same arhitecture whit slight differences(hemisferic cylinder head and midle spark plugs and not side ones like the small block). That is 100% american design! The names are metafores!

  • The "big block" as I hear it most is the GM big block, the 454. I can't remember if the 409 is a big block or small block.

  • The 348 and 409 are called W motors and are not considered small blocks or big blocks

  • ohh ok thanks man

  • the hemi has overhead cams (camshafts over the cylinders), while small block engines have a camshaft in the middle of the V, with pushrods pushing the valves up and down.

  • other than the fact that they are not as heavy as the big block. they have a shorter block, smaller heads, and usually have smaller displacements

  • Ask your girlfriend, she will know- Ain't got dirt under your finger nails do ya - sissy boy

  • could u please, please, remove this fucking ground music... it makes me wish 2 kill myself with a plastic spoon... thanx

  • still slow for meh

  • Great Video!

  • v8 no replacement for displacement is right my friend..ricers shouldnt be mad cuz they chose a 4 cylinder..oh wait maybe they should...lol

  • wow this makes it look so easy

  • lol I was gonna say the exact same thing.

  • song is a kill joy

  • screw imports, if you can't do it with just motor, give up.there is no replacement for displacement,GO GM PERFORMANCE,NOT HONDA SLOWNESS!!!!!!

  • 00:41

    Camshaft. singular, in the block.

  • lol. camshafts.

  • didnt look hard enough

  • that that was the "big block" ls7 ???

  • Ls6

  • haha, how cool! nice video!

  • Love it or hate bitches GM POWER RULES!

  • ill choose to love all makes and models that put numbers down..dumb GM head

  • damn...wish it was that easy!!!!

  • CAD makes an engine look so easy...

  • WTF HOW PUT TOGETHER TAHT ENGINE

  • like how the crank turns for the piston and rod to come in lol

  • they thought of almost everything.

  • Awesome video.

It's pretty impressive that engines last as long as they do when you take a look at all the different componenets.

  • All the parts are meeting together, hence the music?

  • cool but whats with the music

  • Sure thats not the LS7?

  • Actually it appears to be an LS2 with red valve covers.

    vodcars. com

  • The Oilpan and Headers "screem" LS2

  • whats with the music

  • Very cool video! If only building a motor were that easy LOL Looks like that motor used free floating wrist pins, I don't know about the LS6, but the LS1 had press fit wrist pins.
