My oldest Mac is from 1993 and it can use FaceBook modestly. It's a PowerBook 540c with Mac OS 8. My newest Mac can play the highest setting on youtube "4K" with ease.

that mac IS from 1994 .......what do you want to expecting from a machine that is 16 years old? and netscape is well know non support browser in youtube requirement list so it is no surprise it will crash. which it wont make difference if you try youtube on a pentium 66mhz machine.

@hanrinch Sorry, but your logic is wrong. Being unsupported should not cause the computer to completely freeze/hang. An old pentium 66Mhz machine running Windows 3.11 and IE 3.0 that goes to youtube simply gets a webpage error that the browser is unsupported but it doesn't crash the computer.

i have a pentium 60 machine(p66 +p5g4t + 2x 16mb edo ram ) that ran windows 3.11 + ie 3.0 and it crash just like video above. it's likely happen in kernel side as this had appear in many dos based operating system that run on old school monolithic kernel. it's just mocrosoft solved it by migrate to NT based kernel while apple continue use monolithic kernel with tweak mix code of freebsd in their source to prevent such issue on osx. however it still happen in mac/iphone/ipad/ipod today

Netscape Communicator is far from updated. You can try a browser called Classilla. You offcourse also need Flash Player. The newest version for Mac OS 9 is 7.0r73. Just download it and put the file inside the Plugins folder of Classilla. Please tell me if it gone well. Also, please tell me if you need further help.
