Imagine, 200 rogue bandits took over Haiti in 2004. With American and French soldiers stationed there, this small band wove its way closer -- closer to presidential palace.

Rather than eliminate them in one easy encounter, the soldiers talked aristide into resigning and climbing into a plane that flew him to central Africa.

Aristide had filed for an international lawsuit for the French to repay the huge debt they forced on Haiti for becoming independent, which they claimed lost them millions in lost slave labor.

The French worried they might have lost in the international Court convinced aristide to set aside the lawsuit and to work out a compromise.

Soon the rebel group descended from nowhere with new American-style uniforms and weapons.

Fidel has definitely done some terrible things- suppressing dissent, etc. But he has done incredible things for Cuba- the health system is better than any other in the Americas, even better than the US healthcare system. And since the revolution , Cuba's literacy rate has risen dramatically, it's now one of the highest in the region.

Many Americans are unwilling to give credit where it is due, in other words to acknowledge that Castro isn't the devil we portray him as. He's no saint either, but he's a lot better than George Bush.

i'm not cuban .are you? but i went 2 times as a voluntarie 96 and 99 helping them in a hospital and the hurrican disasters..Camaguey and Cd Habana.. already read 42 books about the Cuban revolution,Che Guevara's life, Marx,Mao,,and many books about capitalism ,History of countries ,cultures,etc.. i'm giving my own idea about Cuba and..i'm not trying to share ideas with anyone i don't support Fidel's regimen..but i don't suport Usa strategics eigther ..best regards Salamandra..
