  • What if they hotwire it??

  • all the Camry's have this... but one question... can it prevent a hotwire?

  • the end was funny

  • Why would you even need to test this? Just about every car made past 1998-2000 have immobilizers, and they all basically work the same way. Easy on the immediate revs with a cold engine.

  • @ericspda what do you mean immediate revs on a cold engine if you looked at the temp gauge and seen it showed the motor was at normal temp

  • Thank you! ;D I've always wondered what would happen with an engine immobilizer and a key without the corresponding chip(s).

  • the same thing happened on my 2010 toyota corolla

  • Thanks for dropping the "F" bomb at the end.

  • Do all Camry's have this?

  • Ps: i think your very lucky to have a nice car like this not everyone can afford them. my car is from 1996

  • it's called VATS (Vehicle Anti-theft System)

  • @Jackcc5

No it is not a VATS system.VATS pertains to GM vehicles from 1986 to 1999.....

  • @inger132 ok ok. but it must be something similar to that

  • @Jackcc5

Well, I guess transponder system would be the generic term for it.........

  • @inger132 look mate it deepens on how technical you want to be about it. i don't see the difference between this security system. and from the ones in the GM vehicles. they all work the same way the key has a microchip. when you insert the key witch has in the microchip in it. It sends the code value stored in the chip to the ECU if it's correct the ECU activates the fuel and the Ignition System so that the vehicle can be mobilized.

  • My nissan versa has that. When u try to start it with a fake key it makes no noise at all. Complete silence. Then if you stick the real key back in, it will attemp to start with noise, but will not start. I have to wait 5mins before it comes back to normal. If fake key is inserted 3 times to start, it will lock me out completly, and nissan has to come and tow it back to the dealer and reset it. I have never gotten that far, and I hope I never do!!! lol

  • For a second I thought he was talking about the car at the end.

  • @1974Alfa5Spd haha thinking about runaway toyota?

  • " Wtf how do i stop this "

I'm still laughing 2 mins after watching it :S

  • even with the chip damn car thieves steal them......how do they do it ? bets me

  • Nice video, nice car! Enjoy.

  • thats pretty cool how did u make the fake key like did u make the same copy but no remote or somethin?

  • great demo (:

  • where do u get a fake key?

  • you get it cut dumbass

  • with scissors?!! thats would be HARD!

  • nice car

  • lol nice ending... and nice ride

  • thank you for the redo and a little redline for a good time
