The killswitch is basically an "emergency off" switch that's soldered directly inbetween the pick-up selector and the input jack. My friend put one on for me (I have no soldering experience), but he said it took him about 45 minutes in all. The switch can be bought at a hardware store or a Radioshack if you're lucky, and can blend rather flawlessly with other switches. In any case, it's difficult to employ effectively, and is more of an accessory than anything. Still, it's a cool device.
