They were absolutely poetry in motion when they skated!! As much as I wanted our own teams to do well in the Olympic's, I openly supported Katia and Sergei in every tournament, competition & event they were ever in!! How could you not? :)

Russian Pairs Skaters Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov started skating together when she was 11 and he was 15. They won the gold medal at the 1988 and 1994 Olympics. They fell in love, married (1991), had a baby (in 1992). On 11/20/95, Sergei suffered a fatal heart attack on the ice during a practice.
