This was the beginning of the end for my love of this sport. I and many others here had watched Benoit and other wrestlers throught their entire professional carrer's. Chris was one of my favorite technical wrestlers and was up there with some of the greatest of all time. He had what it took to be a major player in this industry even back in the day. My heart still breaks thinking about what he did to his wife and son. I wish he would have got the help that he needed before this happened.

This was the beginning of the end for my love of this sport. I and many others here had watched Benoit and other wrestlers throught their entire professional carrer's. Chris was one of my favorite technical wrestlers and was up there with some of the greatest of all time. He had what it took to be a major player in this industry even back in the day. My heart still breaks thinking about what he did to his wife and son. I wish he would have got the help that he needed before this happened.

Here's the thing, though - consider Benoit's finishing move - a flying headbutt from the top rope - and even when he missed his opponent, he smashed headfirst into the ring floor, which had very little give. CNN had a neurologist on a show with several wrestlers, and they said Benoit's brain scan looked like one of an 80-year old Alzheimer's patient, and it indicated severe brain damage consistent with head trauma (like the aforementioned headbutts.)

Steroids were only early assumptions to the reason why Benoit did this! Later examinations proved that the "rage" was linked to the continuous head injuries Benoit suffered as a competitor. The head injuries caused dementia & his rage was caused by this but the media accused the wwe of drugging thier wrestlers due to past events.
Also Eddie Guerrero died after 4 years of being sober from Drugs - his death was not linked directly to drugs. Media look for the worst from WWE! Vince does well!

@MegaBarron123 If you can't handle criticism, perhaps you should keep your opinion to yourself. I've said nothing wrong (so you can ease off the exclamation marks). I'm simply stating the flaws in what you're saying. I said that I was going on what friends and family say. You're simply labeling him a bad guy because he murdered someone despite the fact that he was messed up in the head. The messed up in the head and good person part doesn't seem to mean anything. He's just bad in your book.

@1bzoe your so fucking stupid yes im labeling him a bad guy! even look up wrestlers whove called him a coward on the way he walked out on his life, he is a murderer, child killer, wife killer, ask anyone, no one is going to say oh yeah hes a good guy just did a one bad thing, why you think wwe doesnt acknowledge him anymore? why you think he'll never go into the hall of fame?

@MegaBarron123 A crazy person is bad? Let me ask you something, if you go crazy someday and kill your entire family...you're a bad person? You're comparing Benoit to a sane person that killed his family. Benoit never had a criminal history and loved his family and then went crazy. You label him evil because he went crazy? You know why a person doesn't go to jail if they plead insanity? A crazy person is not in control of what they are doing. And I'm stupid?

@1bzoe the day wwe inducts him in the hall of fame ill say im sorry to you, you can defend him all you want, facts: he murdered his wife and child, yes he loved him but people still kill there own kids in this evil world we live in, hes not the first to do this, depression, steroids, pills and inside him, doesnt matter no meds make you for three days go insane like this, he will never be in wwe hall of fame or seen again.. end of story

When did I deny what he did? I said that he was crazy and wasn't evil which is what the discussion is about. I brought up the "pleading insanity" question and you ignored it all together. To you, he's evil because he killed his family (forget the fact that he WAS NOT HIMSELF). I asked if you killed your family because you went crazy, are you evil? You know the answer but you're too ignorant in your ways to answer it. You said, you didn't care if he had brain damage...why does that not matter? It does.

He was SICK, CRAZY. INSANE. Crazy people are not in control of what they're doing which is why they don't go to jail for murder and rightly so.
