It's not that I'm being a hater or anything, but anything worth doing is worth doing right, so I really feel like more effort could've gone into this. It just looks like the typical "celebrity who wants to have a fashion line" kind of line, there's really nothing original or inspirational in his clothes, and no cohesiveness in the entire line in general. His outfits just seem random, like they're not all a part of a line. He could've done better.

Though some of the pieces were heavy and not ideally wearable for the spring/summer season, I still give Kanye a thumbs up for effort. The only way to learn from your mistakes as a designer is to not take criticism too harshly. He's a black rapper that can obviously buy his way into Paris catwalks and I think people are generally bothered by that factor.

Lack of cohesion, and the questionable choices for the season just means he's got his foot in the door. the real work will come in raising the bar from now on. The thing people struggle with is overcoming the fear of failure and/or success and jut starting to do what they want. I predict that Kanye's ability to transcend those initial fears will lead to better collections as he learns and does more.
