  • holy fuck... 70+% taxes. >:[

  • Taxes are painful to pay but necessary. Scandinavians are taxed higher than Canadians but they are a bunch of happy people.

  • @LulJam some taxes may be necessary but relying on big government to do everything that we used to be able to do municipally or provincially at a much lower cost and much more efficiently is like giving your money away for free. One set of rules and regulations to manage a specific thing in the entire country never works; it takes all the money away from the middle class and gives it to a few rich that push their OWN agendas and return back much less than the money's worth.

  • When I was growing up one income was enough. The roads were better and the family unit was stronger. Today we have higher taxes worse conditions exist from roads, education, health care and so on. We are taxed to death in this country and the large coporations and wealth individuals don't.

  • This guy is an idiot. How the hell can he really believe the crap he's spewing? Does he really belive that the left-wing are the only reason we have taxes? Does he really believe that the only reason people are left-wing is if they live off of others? How does a person think that Canadiens are so stupid that a campaign based on stereotypes and hate is what MOST of canadiens would respond well to. If that whole thing didn't wreak of bullshit to you then you have got a lot of research to do.

  • people shop more, pay more taxe's and the government will be proud of you! lolll

its insane how they hold people by the balls

  • military, and roads what aboout education and healthcare, you right wing nationalist!!!!!

  • This guy is so spot on.

  • Haha,"it's like an overweight person." well, you, my fat assed friend, are overweight, and you have brothers and sisters who are starving. Now, seeing that you, in all your infinite gluttony are too fucking selfish to actually go out and make a difference to people who need you to, our politicians have decided that the "trickle down effect" that Americans use to actually make rich people more rich has never worked. So hand over your tax dollars and shut the fuck up.

  • @TheCanadianSocialist wow your statement is just moronic. yes governments do good things with tax money, but they also do dumb and unnecesary things. i am all for social services that are there for the people in need. but come on canada is ridiculous! i used to pay $10 a semester for an unlimited bus pass as a college student in michigan, in montreal it is over 50bucks a month! quebec makes it so easy to take advantage of welfare. and holy shit they need to take care of the potholes in montreal

  • This is outrageous. The issue of the income tax in particular is a BIPARTISAN issue. it doesn't matter if you're left or right.

This is about the unconstitutional enforcement of a supposedly temporary tax act created in order to help finance the government's failure in 1913.

Don't let anybody tell you that 'the right will save you from taxes'. taxes are good. they serve a purpose. But when the government of a country is commiting yearly fraud against it's citizens, something needs to be done.

  • Buy guns. Signs, protests and asking nicely doesn't work.

You protest, they tear gas. Buy guns. Freedom is always achieved through violence. Without the threat of violence what stops them from taking your money and freedom? Morality? No. Fear will be the only thing to stop them.

  • I don't understand how any reasonable minded person can consider Jean Chretien and Paul Martin as leftwing Liberals. They were the most fiscally conservative prime ministers in the history of the nation. They balanced more budgets, cut taxes and privatized crown corporations. They were more conservative than Stephan Harper and his Conservatives. Oh please we are not taxed to death comparatively to our European counterparts. Its a big farce!

  • If tax is suppose to provide services why does gas price not go down? Gas is taxed and the money is suppose to provide service to the petroleum refinery thus lowering the gas prices.

  • Left wing, right wing, there wings of the same bird.

  • lol im not even gona live in this bullshit non- competetive country. other countries have things such as eagles represent as their national animals. what do we have? a retarded beaver..wtf does a baver represent. we never win in any international major games. the only thing we win in is hockey in olympics and that too barely. Most of the canadian players are joining u.s teams. there has to be something wrong here isnt it canada? trust me once i get my post grad education im outta this shit hole

  • @rsparth oh, that's not a good attitude! Why don't you stay in Canada and help make the country better? If you move away, then that's just one less Canadian! Have pride in your country!

  • Wow you know what I might as well give up being a doctor because by time I turn 65 about 5 million dollars of my money is going to go to this shitty government that does not put money where it NEEDS TO BE! I don't even want to get into healthcare costs but all I can say is why spend a billion dollars on a fancy piece of equipment when you can just get someone to exercise and eat an apple a day? This place is a joke.

  • You say 100 years ago we were debt free and barely taxed. That`s because we didn`t have social security, medicare, public highways, heavily subsidized education etc.

If you can convince Canadians to give up these big ticket items we can get rids of most of our taxes. But I doubt you`ll have any luck with that.

Also last I checked, its the conservatives running the largest budget deficit in Canadian history while increasing public sector spending.

  • this guys a dying breed keep it up man its a loosing battle but maybe we can win!

  • Stop repeating the same taxes over and over again, yeah I heard cigarette tax the first time and it -should- be taxed. This is such a transparent complaint about taxes for the rich, his first suggestion being a flat tax instead which would weigh heavily on lower incomes.

  • kjllj

  • Our country is becoming a joke, how many people go to work in the morning feeling like a prostitute for our polititions at least other countries show displeasure and get results. One day hopefully people will realize enough is enough how about no one going to work for a day (organized) let them lose revenue also ,wake up Canadians.

  • Please stop talking right and left wing. The only solution is no politicians.

  • Wow, you're an absolute genius. Did you come up with that concept all by yourself?

  • @offcentre11 Not sure why you are being so sarcastic. The largest problem in our Canadian political system today is that we have MPs and their aides being paid north of $200K to work 6-8 months a year in addition to "expense accounts". Their only incentive is to maintain the party line and get re-elected. None of these people actually care for the people whom they supposedly represent. I personally know an MP who gives preference to businesses over citizens because of the eventual kickbacks.

  • While we're at it, there's some bad cops out there so let's get rid of all of them too. And with no cops and no politicians, we'll just smoke dope, hold hands and sing Kumbaya. LOL I get what you're saying but that's not a good solution.

  • @offcentre11 I agree and what I have been thinking about is making it so that no one working in a political role in government receives any salary or pension and has their finances audited every year. This would reduce the amount of wastes and anyone who was in it for themselves would automatically opt out and go steal something. Police chiefs as well. When they have to fend for themselves, they will be too busy to steal.

  • OMG, that would only encourage them to steal and abuse the system. How can you expect someone to work for free? And what kind of idiots would you attract? A better way to go would be to pay better for people who are willing to do what's necessary to make government run more efficient and leaner. And stop spending money needlessly on useless left-wing programs, studies, meetings, grants and such. Sheesh.

  • @offcentre11 More pay is scientifically shown to *negatively* affect intellectual pursuits. In my opinion, if one had to earn their own living while in office, they would be efficient by necessity. Take away the power of the government and the only ones left with power are the people. In such a system, it would be impossible to centralize and anonymize control at the levels that is currently possible in Canada. Also, please stop talking left and right, you sound like an American.

  • @offcentre11 Though I agree that such a system would be open for abuse, the requirement that all politicians have their expenses audited once a year should exclude the possibility of back room deals. One problem with this system is that only the rich or very passionate would be able to afford it. So be it, I prefer that system to this system of leeches.

  • @offcentre11 If you don't believe it is a system of leeches, take a look at government pensions. My uncle earns > $80K in pension SITTING ON HIS FAT ASS AT HOME. That is completely unacceptable to me, as a taxpayer and as a parent.

  • I'll give you that one. Couldn't agree more. But what you're talking about is a complete shift in human nature - something we're not gonna see in our lifetime. I just don't think we need to make politics any more elitist than it already is. And if you make it too transparent with no reward, many good qualified people will simply stay away. OK, this was nice but we're not solving anything.

  • a lot of people dont get it. our high debt and taxes are not a result of social spending so much as a result of fractional reserve banking. for starters, watch money as debt. then research how this situation came to be. our leaders are corrupt puppets that work for the private banks. your right to vote is just an illusion of choice. dont be stupid. educate yourselves.

  • @Mrreverendjim as is the case in america!

  • @lucy9359 as is the case everywhere...i dont want to play anymore....so i'm not

  • @Mrreverendjim Unfortunately if they can't starve us they will blow us up so you may not have a choice. I live in Canada and I was seriously considering moving way up north some where with solar and wind power and a garden and bow and arrow or something lol!

  • @Mrreverendjim Agreed

  • @ztT6Gkxx77 criminal code calls this kind of conversation seditious.....umm....who cares.

  • @Mrreverendjim "They" will do whatever they want anyway. I just wish they would be more up front about it.

  • @ztT6Gkxx77 liars and thieves have a hard time with "up front"....

  • @Mrreverendjim you are so right and i just wish liberal and conservative people on both sides would realize that. we need to tax banks more, that would allow the canadian government to tax industry less and lower income tax for everyone. We dont need bank profits to huge part of our GDP. for example the US GDP is almost 50% made up of bank profits, but banking can NEVER ever support an economy the way industry and manufacturing can.

  • @Mrreverendjim and a lot more people dont understand that there is not left and right.

  • @Mrreverendjim GLAD THERES OTHER OUT THERE!!

  • @Mrreverendjim GLAD THERES OTHERS OUT THERE!!

  • when you got a Corporate Goverment sin card you agreed to work for the taxpayer as a slave.

And pay for benefits that you will never ever get .

The MPP for B.C. Mr Colin Hansens office threw out my disability application after it was not accepted thru the regular process

    tax fraud ,human rights violations...etc

  • @canadastreetmedia That is why they were ingenous enough to call it a sin card!

  • bull! The reason income tax is so high is because the Right keeps cutting corporate TAX. He doesn't say a word about how they cut the bank tax! The workers get low wages while the corporations get all the money. You can't even get a cup of coffee these days with out some corporation taking 99%

  • left right is meant to keep us fighting..they both work for the same masters..NWO global bank..they will bankrupt us, they are doing it. were giving away our land and resources for pennies on the dollar..Why? because we owe global bankers and THEY make the rules. not our elected officials. Why are they immigrating so many people here..drive down wages and cause cultural divisions. easier to control people that way.

  • I like my taxes!!! just as much as i liked my cheap diploma, degree, and soon masters. I like knowing that I can be hit by a dump truck and be sewn back together at no cost. I like knowing that the poor new immigrants down the street will have the same opportunity I did and thus not be forced into a permanent underclass. I like our political system and how its not a simplified two party system for retards. Despite new land transfer taxes the housing market is still on fire! thanks to high taxes.

  • @haichtee the housing market is still on fire....its called a bubble....hope your not buying. a two party system for retards? no, we have a multi party system for retards, thats true. if you feel your masters is cheap you must be from a wealthy family. i know people at wallmart, the local hotel and the gas station who have degrees. all is not rosey in canada.

  • The right has too big a govt atm

Time to gut the Canadian govt

throw them all out and make them work for a living.

A makke work plan means Govt jobs

    to the current govt.

  • You're right, instead of taxing people for their use of boats, we should just let them do what they want. Of course that means we'd have to stop licensing them and get rid of the coast guard, but thats worth it. You know what, we should stop licensing motor vehicles while we're at it, its a great way of cutting taxes!

By the way, a school tax isn't a tax on going to school but one that subsidizes public education so that our nations children will learn to be productive.

  • This is about common sense, not sarcastic stupidity!

  • I agree, that is what this should be about. It ought to be common sense to license boaters and motorists. It is important to do so because that increases the likelihood of our motorists being safe, something we wouldn't be able to do if there were no systems in place to provide the funding.

  • Less politics, more problem-solving please. When the ship is sinking, it's not in good taste to decide who sits where in the lifeboats.

  • Which of these taxes is it that you want to cut then?

  • I've been to Alberta. I've never seen so many gay men in my life! No wonder the Canadian women love Americans.

  • Have you ever been to San Fransisco?

  • Canadian women love men who are morbidly obese?

  • what about toilet paper,is it a luxury? if is been tax?

  • I like your style.

  • Don't even think about coming to the USA. We don't need any more filthy immigrants.

  • Canadians are filthy? Fuck you, you yank piece of shit. Canadians enjoy a high standard of living

  • Hey in my home town in alberta (which has the lowest taxes in Canada) is filled with got dam Americans taking away job us Canadians.

  • Canadians are nothing but "north of the border Mexicans'. No American would come take your pissant poverty jobs.

  • United States are bankrupt and have higher unemployment then in Canada. In Canada we have surplus not massive deficit

  • Hell, Montana has a higher unemployment rate than Canada. What is your population? Like 100,000?

  • We kicked your ass in 1812 and will do it again if we have to.

  • Ummmmmmm, pretty sure that was Great Britain. Opened your World History book lately?

  • In 1812 Canada was a part of britain you dume ass.

  • Dume ass? What's a dume ass?

  • @geraldrempe Yea the British attacked from Upper and Lower Canada, Well half of their force was made up of Provincial Militia. What province in England were they from.... hmm... England doesn't have provinces!

  • Canada's population? 30,000,000. What does the population have to do with the rate? You know what a rate is, right? It's relative to the population? It's not a number... it's a rate... you know, like a percentage... ??

  • we were the last to get into the recession, oh, how did we go into recession, ya, i remember, it was you idiots who didn't know how to regulate your banks. You guys could only dream of living in Canada, but do me a favour, stay on your side, and stop marrying Canadian's when you get sick.

  • I'm sorry, are you somehow under the impression that I'm a bank regulator?

Canada is a third world country . I'd rather live in Cuba than Canada.

  • Third World Country? Each and every year for the last 20 years Canada has topped the US for standard of living. If Canada is third world, , then what does that say about the USA? BTW out of those 20 years, Canada had the highest rated standard of living for 8 of those years.

  • @geraldrempe This is that same old American "cotton picker" USA is number 1 no matter what attitude. Ignorant Americans shouldn't speak out loud in public. This is what gives the entire world such a bad POV of Americans, not the politics but the people.

  • you can come clean my toilet any time, just don't forget your geen card

  • @geraldrempe You should have travelled across the border before you made this comment. We have a much much higher standard of living than what you are acustomed to!

  • @geraldrempe Oh yes and our average family income is much much higher than Americans.

  • Well then stay where you are, we're not into arrogant Yanks.

  • theres alotof taxes

  • LMAO --``it costs money to die``

  • YEYEYEYEYE

  • Here here, lets become become American! Or lets not. I absolutely agree with making the government more efficient and making spending more restricted but to broadly criticize the left for this is just unnecessary politicization of the issue of innefficient government. That being said, our taxes are often put to very good use. Finally, they government does an awful lot more than you give credit like CIDA or regulating our banks, which is why were not in the same mess as the U.S. and E.U.

  • Regulating the banks?

Did you forget about the $65b bailout that harper approved, to "resume lending"?

Regulating banks is nonsense, imo, all we need is a free-market, and let the flawed banks fail, and successful ones prosper. I'm not happy at all with where my tax money goes in Canada, because i know very few of them are necessary.

  • Hey 7CATALYST25, please name 5 things that the government has done in the last 35 years to improve our standard of living. Remember that those pricks work for us you stupid brainwashed sheep. get a job!

  • you should run for primeminister

  • When is the last day to file income tax? is it April 15?

  • MY GOD THATS A LOT OF TAXES!

  • he'd have my vote for PM

  • To flush the toilet tax.

  • Here here.
