Division comes when others try to define Him and His gospel for themselves.

I don't know how often you listen to the people that MacArthur talked about, but if he wasn't in a church and didn't mention Christianity and you listened to the descriptions of the things Copeland, Hagan, etc taught, you wouldn't be able to distinguish them from Mormonism or some new age cults. I use to follow these people after I first got saved, looking back and listening to them now, I'm not even sure most of these people are truly born again.

The "god is love' gospel of American evangelicalism knows nothing of exposing and debunking bad teaching. However, it is absolutely biblical and necessary. Paul told Timothy is 1 Timothy to ensure he taught good doctrine because it would save himself and his hearers. False teaching leads to a false gospel that leads to a false Jesus and false salvation.

However, look at the context: "Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?...Hypocrite! FIRST remove the plank from your own eye and THEN you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:3,5) In other words, we are called to judge non-hypocritically. @MANMAD1 Please do not take Matthew 7 out of context. Yes, the bible does say, "Judge not, that you be not judged." However, look at the context: "Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?...Hypocrite! FIRST remove the plank from your own eye and THEN you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:3,5) In other words, we are called to judge non-hypocritically. Not, that we cannot judge at all.

Jesus even called their father the devil & said many other things about their teachings. Ridiculous? Paul & the rest of the Apostles tackled the same. Mat 7:1 is not about judging by the WOG. Jesus is the Word & that Word is our judge. If the WOG finds us in error, we are.

Other than the ones he named, do a YouTube search for Creflo Dollar and "prosperity pimp" Leroy Thompson, Sr. Listen to Leroy talk about his $16,000 dog.

Leroy would almost be "funny" if it wasn't for the fact that he is leading his followers astray with blatant lies.

Also check out Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda who claims to perform much greater miracles than Jesus.

I would classify a religous author that titles a book "eat the cookie buy the shoes" as a prosperity preacher. she should have titled it "give the cookie to a homeless guy, go with the shoes on sale". but thats her style, therefore she cant lead by example. prosperity religion works in one place, the us. A good preacher should be able to give the same sermon across the board, from beverly hills to some unknown tribe in africa. Praying for bmw's does not work in the majority of the world.

I agree with pretty much everyone he put on that list of preachers except Joyce Meyer. I have watched her preach and she is not a feel good preacher she often talks about how hard it is to be a Christian. She says often that the closer you get to God the more Satan is going to temp you and net pick at you, but God and looking toward Him is the only way to get through it. Sure Joyce does have a lot of money, but that has mostly come from her books. I don't agree with Joyce Meyer being on that.

Doesn't matter if Joyce talks about difficulty as a Christian. What matters is if she's preaching the true gospel. She isn't. According to Galatians 1:8-9, she is a very dangerous teacher who is accursed. She denies the atonement, saying Jesus was trampled on by demons in Hell, clearly rejecting His words on the cross, "It is finished."

Matthew 7:17-19 says "17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." I have heard and listen to Joyce speak many times, and she bears good fruit.

TBN is a false Pentecostal Network that loves the prosperity gospel. Now, I do watch the Sunday night full-length movies on there sometimes. I watch John MacArthur, David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, D James Kennedy, and Adrian Rogers and none of them appear on TBN because they preach the truth and TBN doesn't like it!

@OneFaithMinistries Charles Stanley and David Jeremiah are shown on TBN. So is Jentezen Franklin who is an anointed preacher that God is using to bring the American church's attention back to fasting. I don't love TBN or anything and the shows where the owners show up are the worst and transparent about where their heads are at but I don't think the preachers the show indicate anything.

I think there are some saved people at lakewood but it's mostly people just doing church. I live in Houston.

@stop08it I have only seen Jeremiah on TBN a couple of times, but he appears on the Church Channel, TCT, and NRB most of the time. Stanley used to be on TBN frequently, but now Stanley is on the Church Channel and TCT; maybe on TBN in the middle of the night. The only show I will watch on TBN that does not sppea on any other channel is Way of the Master with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort. How they are still on there, I don't know. In regards to Osteens church, you cannot be saved and go there

@OneFaithMinistries Oh trust me, you can. I know some prayer filled, spirit filled, ruit filled, gospel preaching people of God that go to Lakewood. Not MANY but they are there. I agree though that if your heart is just hungering for God, it will not be enough. Charles Stanley comes on EVERY saturday on my TBN, that's how i actually found out about him and David Jeremiah comes on during the week. I've never Adrian Rogers who is my FAVORITE on any network. That one is confusing!

@stop08it, Adrian Rogers is on TBN here in New York on Sundays at 12:00 noon. I really enjoy watching him, even though he passed away a few years ago, he gives a powerful word every time. I love Charles Stanley and David Jeremiah, as well as the Messianic Jewish Rabbi's, who've given me more insight (from a Jewish perspective as it was in the beginning) into the Bible than I've ever had before.

@OneFaithMinistries I'm not surprised MacArthur is almost nowhere on TV because he does not mince any sort of words...which is sad. The Lord is still using TBN imo regardless of where the heart of the station is. I will say I definitely knew to back away even more when I saw that Osteen and his wife were going to the Holy Land with Paul Crouch Jr. and his wife. I don't know if you have Daystar but I prefer that station. Here we don't have many options though. Thank God for radio and internet.

@OneFaithMinistries, I haven't seen 'Way of the Master' on TBN in a while now, I enjoy the show because I love their witnessing techniques, and think we need more shows like this. As for Joel, it breaks my heart to see what's going on there, what's the use in having a Bible if you don't put the word that's being given to the 'test', as the Bible has told us to do? People (even some Christians) say repeatedly, "don't judge", but the Bible also mentions "righteous Judgment".

Too many people are now saying there's nothing wrong with Joel's preaching(?), but when you ask them if they've checked the scriptures to find out what he's saying is true, you get a totally different response. I'm not knocking Joel, I just wish he'd tell the 'whole truth' (sin and all) when it came to 'preaching'(?) the Word.
