Standard Poodles: The Smartest Breed

Your Bailey looks just like my Cosmo. It's good to see the adult male be submissive to the female puppy by laying on his back beside her.

It is interesting how their relationship has developed. The male is alpha, but he defers to the puppy most of the time. She is 1 1/2 years old now. So she has a great deal more energy than my almost 11 year old male. They are related by blood -- male's mother is female's grandmother -- I believe this gives them even closer genetic bonding with each other. They just adore each other, although both have very different personalities within the 'poodle realm'. They both are lovers!

I'm sure you already know this but your puppy just might turn all white when she matures. My Cosmo was her color at four months. Now he's almost pure white. Two beautiful dogs. Poodles are the best!

So is your name - notebene - supposed to mean Good Night? That's what it translates to in Italian.

Gracie is not a year and a half, and is more light brown than anything at this point. If anything, she's gotten a bit darker. As to my name, it is a pun. Nota bene is Latin for 'good note' - like P.S. in English, N.B. in Latin. However, I'm a musician, so I crushed the Latin: Notebene...
