  • hi. i'm bob for expert village. in this clip we're going to explain how to watch an expert village video. first, click on the video that says how to watch an expert village video. thanks for watching.

    fucking die expertvillage

  • when i'm done, i want to have most of the load on my hips. okay.

  • Looked to me like the pack fit him good; he looked balanced, not hunched forward or whatnot. Looked like he had way too much gear, tho. Hike your own hike, but when you overpack, you need more food, creating vicious cycle. Careful gear choices can keep load below25#.Heaviest items(pack, tent, bag) below 10#makes it possible to keep total pack wt below 25#.Carry good insul & layer, check raingear, tent for leaks before hike, keep eye out for sudden storms & u should be ok. Happy Hiking

  • We are ;looking for a location for next year, did some research on rvparkandcampingexpert (.) com

  • any tips for those without backs? can we reverse it?

  • Too bad you have all that printing on top of your video. Little point in making a video that is really hard to see. Poorly done. You would fail Video Class.

  • Hi, My name Clarion. I use to hike and camp as youth. As an older man I need some sort of activity to keep me in shape. So I am going to take day trips at first so I can get in shape. I live in Miami, Florida and they have a great system of parks for this purpose. I enjoy your videos, they're short, simple, easy to understand, and practical. I making a goal to watch them all. Thanks

  • the shoulder straps should be in contact with the contours of your shoulders and back; the load-lifters in the video were pulled WAY too tight and are now useless.

if the pack is leaning back (beyond vertical) when the shoulder straps are in total contact, then either (a) you have the incorrect size of harness, or (b) the shoulder straps have not been pulled tightly enough.

wearing a shoulder harness like that will result in instability and you might as well be wearing an external frame.

  • @jamo0001 I agree, his pack isn't fitted properly.

  • @jamo0001 Nothin wrong with an external frame pack. I have used both over a hiking career that started back in the 60's, and overall externals are, for me, better all-round, but hike your own hike..whatever..Xframes have gotten heavier as the yrs have gone by,but if you can find some of the older ones they weighed only 3#, and for me thats a good start on keepin the BIG 3 (pack, tent, bag) below10#. #3 pack3# tent 3# bag+.H2o 1/2gallon=8#. Leaves 9# for clothes & food & sleeping pad.

  • @finishstrongdoc never said there was anything wrong with an external frame. i was just saying that wearing an internal frame using the method in the video defeats the very purpose of having an internal frame in the first place.

externals certainly have their place; neither type is better or worse than the other. they're just intended for different methods of backpacking.

  • Not how you lift or adjust a backpack.

  • Oh and lift the pack on to a thigh then put it on your back. If you use this method ^^ your back will be toast.

  • His backpack fits like crap! Load lifters at too much of an angle, torso setting is too long, and his waist belt is around his stomach not his hips. Fail!

  • @fxdrdnme its sopost to be sitting on his hips not on his hips when you tighten it insted of it sliging down and restricting your movement it should be around his stomach so it rest on his hips dont doubt a proffesional. epic FAIL!

  • @RoelRC1 The hip belt is supposed to cup your hips not sit on top of them sorry. I have been backpacking for 18 years and been a guide for 5 of that. The packs hipbelt relys on a solid place to distribute the load i.e. cupping your hips, and if you have a properly fitted and nice pack you will most likely have a hipbelt that moves WITH your natural motion. A good proper pack fitting guide can be found at kelty's website or gregory's. Good day and like you said dont doubt a professional.

  • @fxdrdnme i diddent know the word for cipping im norwegian sry if i ofended u in anyway

  • @RoelRC1 No ofense taken. Im more than glad to share my knowledge.

  • excellent video.

  • i flew 10 porters in from the Congo to lug all my gears.

    i learn that watching Tarzan.

    happy hiking!

  • I get most of my gear into my suitcase, easy peasy......it's got wheels and a handle.

  • It's called a rucksack, it's not as tall and sticks out real far.... unless you're talking about the new plastic framed/ACU rucks. They're a little taller but can't hold the 70-100 lb loads for shit.

  • If that's the case jake you are taking the wrong pack for your type of trip.

Anything with no waist straps are daypacks for day trips.

Even daypacks often have some kind of chest strap or waist strap.

  • haha ya thats what sucks mine should have had the chest strap but i was given a pack with the strap missing... it was a long 5 days

  • Did this in basic training last year for the army and now i love backpacking...to bad my pack I had to carry my gear in had no hip strap so all the weight was on my sholders...

  • what about the backpack you get in basic training?
