  • That was an awesome cover. If I may make a suggestion, I suggest getting a Cry Baby Classic or something of the sort for the intro. It really kicks the intro into full Hendrix gear. How long have you been playing?

  • U ROCK

  • nice

  • absolutely kickass cover

  • good use a wah wah in the begining and you would nail it

  • nice job .. keep on

  • sounds way better than when i do it haha

  • people want to hear Hendrix's version they should listen to Hendrix.

    good job, dude. with feeling.

  • Just a couple of pointers:

-In the first riff, you really need to work on your vibratos.

-During the main riff, keep the E minor note and just pull off on the e string/3rd fret for the g minor.

-Use the pickup switcher while pulling the gstring/2ndfret to get the effect hendrix uses

Otherwise it sounded decent. Work on your fluidity and mess around a bit more. Good job.

  • Don't find Jimi anything you can just go and play.

Only some people can touch that, and with care.

    Keep playing guitar though, nice.

  • Dont Stop!

  • maybe he hasnt got a wah pedal or its to slow but the important thing its the way you play and for me this is awesome and i sub this guy cuz i like how he play guitar.. so dont be mean.

    continue playing man yr great

  • yet another person who needs to get a fucking wah pedal for this song.

  • Brilliant. Keep it up dude. We all be hendrix. YEE HA !

  • Nice Brah

  • this is amazing dude

  • I wouldn't upload it if I played it like that:

Without feeling or sense for rhythm.

  • faster plis

  • muy bueno

  • Are you playn a standard strat?

  • All except the pickups, two Dimarzios and the black one is a Seymore Duncan...gives me a better range of tones.

  • Nice

  • No your stupid

  • its all about having fun great job man =)

  • Fucking good dude nice job.

  • no one will be as good as Jimi but that was dope...

  • im getting that same guitar you have execpt in sunburst

  • wow fucking sick cover mate about 90% nailed it nice one any chance you got any guitar tabs for it?

  • Sweet man!!! 5/5

  • frickin awesome, well frickin done! jeez, that was amazing. keep rockin, mate ;)

  • pretty good.

  • I saw Hendrix in 68or 69 in NYC and I play guitar and I was blown away. This kid is great. Keep playing and I hope this video is a stepping stone for you.I bet your getting tons of calls .

  • to slow.

  • that was a fucking sickk cover hendrix style is really hard to master maddd propss

  • credit where its due. that was mint.

  • How is this video only 4 star?? It's fucking AWESOME man!

  • Because if he gets five stars he might think hes as good as Hendrix =P

  • nice man really enjoyed it

  • your good mad exelent job,wel worth watching

  • not bad m8 good stuff

  • this is a great video, especially if someone wanted to watch learn how to play it themselves - especially since you play it clean and slow. ignore all those stupid posts that say "speed it up, you need effects, yada yada." Their missing the point of this laid back video... why stop there? they might as well also say "hey you need a bassists!...and a drummer!! "

  • its good but not as good a jimi

  • profound statement there

  • its relaxing slow

  • go a lil fatser for beginning but everything else awesome

    actually just faster overall

    awesome vid

  • great job, music these days needs more people who actually know how to play well and not just hit the same three cords over and over.

  • you dont play fast enough to cover jimi hendrix, but i see you enjoy playing guitar and thats respect worthy.

  • Awesome dude! keep rocking!

  • Good song but you need the effects, lol, still impressive.

  • good, but buy a crybaby or somethin

  • 50% good !!

  • Great job and nice improvs even without the whammy or the wah wah. Shows natural talent that you don't rely on the extras to get your point across. You rocked it. I think so many people get lost on trying to play it just like Hendrix that they never find their own original style of playing the song. Forget about the negative comments for this video. You rocked it dude:)

  • You're good !!

  • Dude Jimi Hendrix spirit is over you and it helps you Rock this song just like him......Lol

  • exemplary

  • good work, but hendrix is better, he always be. R.I.P jimi!

  • the funny thing is theres always someone that tries to take his crown just like he did from clapton and clapton took from robert johnson (i dnt consider elvis presley as anything)...will be interesting to see who takes it from hendrix...its gonna be revolutionary..ill tell you that much

  • that was a really dickhole comment you left there buddy

    jk but seriously

  • where is the wah?

  • Great! I play guitar too and imho you are a very good guitarrist. You could already be in any pro band as the lead guitarrist.

Pay no attention to those idiots saying "speed this shit up". If they call it "shit" it's because they can't appreciate good music. And THIS is good music.

    Great Job.

  • rubish nuffin like jim ,no rythaaam, no stle go back to air guitar

  • that´s pretty good man :)

  • u ripped dat

  • nice fking cover man rock hard

  • Dope man,

I play guitar too, people don't get it. Getting yourself in th pocket is ten times more important than speed. You did a kick ass job here... awesome

  • i know what u mean like all my friends when i tell them i can play this and that the first thingthey say is how fast can u play it

i fucking hate it when they ask that

  • i enjoyed it man but it would be even more awsome if you invested in a wah its so vital for this song

  • Very nice man. Ignore the people saying speed it up. They can't do it the way you are right now. Very skilled.

  • awsome

  • nice

  • Awesome, a five star performance :)

  • speed it up and do the scratches at the start you are surely good enough to do those and get some wah wah

  • i like it at the tempo your going. nice sound!

  • pretty soud!

  • the classic american equipment fender strat and marshal amp , is that a half stack in the background

  • Yeah, its pretty sick sounding to

  • pretty cool!

    but it could be faster...

jimi hendrix was just a god you#ll never been so good...

  • good job:)

  • speed this shit up.

  • Excellent!

  • nice keep it up!

  • Totally agree with DannyJamesRead!!

All those haters, post your own vid if you think you can play better.

  • HEYY will u stop ripping this guy hes fucking awesome hes not slow hes concentrating not all of us were made out as talented as jimi but this dude sure is!!! so give him a break. Brilliant work dude 5/5!!!! =)))

  • maybe u had to much weed, its so much faster

  • too slow!!!!

  • Too slow....

  • Very well done.. I like the touches you gave it.

  • Well, no one can match Jimi's guitar sound, hence the feeling. But I think thats kinda cool man, good job. Keep it up and put some more enthusiasm on it-

  • To much technique.

You have to play with your feelings!

  • Just a Wah pedal, and some vibrato, and your set.

  • No Offence but maybe you should put a little parctice in It really doesnt so like Hendrix, It sounds like something from a 70's Porno Flick.

  • rotf!!!

  • ROFLMf*ckin'AO!!!!

  • awesome song

    awesome strat

    awesome sound

    5 *

  • beast

  • Wow am i the only one that can play voodoo chile the same way as hendrix? you are supposed to play up in the upper register.

  • No you're not.

  • technically sweet kid.

  • what types of dimarzio pickups are those

  • you should solo i did for this song

  • its alright man...keep working on it...definately needs speed and some feel bro. lookin like you need a lil oil!

  • damn that was kool. i like how u played up the neck instead of when u play it by the E when u make ur guitar sing alone wit it. nice job ^_^

  • hey thats the guitar i have...a Stratocaster

  • and...??

  • i like stevies voodo chile haha.. dude great job btw keep it up. I should try to cover this

  • this is great!

    congratulations

  • great playing m8 i think this is the best one out of the others that you have done for this particular song

  • o.O :O o.O O: ?! WoW WoW :D NICE !!!

  • sweet im inspired by jimi hendrix awsome

  • hey what kind of marshall is that howe did you get that sound

  • It's a Marshall Valvestate 100. The sound is largely due to the Seymore Duncan dual-coil puckup that I have installed as the bridge pickup. I then just experimented with the tone settings on the Marshall.

  • Thats pretty sick-Got any tabs???

  • the newest version is the best

  • dude you played it pertty good just add a little wha wha and it would be great

  • whats the tunnig

  • wow kool

  • u suck baws

  • awesome playing...your latest video of hendrix is much better though

  • Best i've seen so far, good job

  • tabs dude?....

  • wahhhhh, played it well tho

  • Wow, you got the groove man!

    I really lke it!

  • awsome..needs wah.. still awsome

  • you gotta cut lose when ur playing this song, go absolutely insane, pretty good though

oh yeah and what the hell kid of pickups you got on that thing?

  • Is that, like, the easy listening version? Seriously though, get a wah pedal for gods sake and it will sound 100% better.

  • lol... pickups...

  • What's so funny about DiMarzio pickups?

  • really good

  • sounds cool, disciplined, like it ! would be cool to the the pick up switch being used on those long sustained notes i'll check out ur other versions

  • Only Hendrix played like Hendrix. You have a sweet sound of your own though. Rock on.

  • Really awesome, no hendrix of course, but still awesome.

  • I have never seen seen anyone play Hendrix that well except SRV- Could u send me the tab for that?

  • Same for me?

  • really good and very clean try to play it faster next time and youll have it perfect i still give you 5 stars

  • are you using a wah ?

    ???

  • not on this version, but have a look at my "Hendrix's Voodoo Child 3"

  • use ur ears hes obviously not.

  • Exellent...

  • aaa..soooo good..

  • Woah man. Great. Nice and clean. Awsome.

  • wow. impressive.

  • and since how long do you play guitar?

  • thanks man, I've been playing about 12 years I think...

  • wow very good i needed some weeks to be able to play the song like that. RESPEK

  • Wow niceley done, hendrix would be proud = ]

  • is that a mexi strat?

  • That is a Strat but is it American Made or is it a Mexican made one with a lace pick up in the rear position near the tremlo? Either way you studied his chops and worked hard, wouldn't have hurt to add a hint of reverb and use a Wah to make it more authentic. PROPS!

  • Really cool! Great idea not to use many effects...you can really hear the changes...Voodoo Child is an absolute masterpiece...

  • I like your disgusting bachelor apartment. its just like mine, fake strat included.

  • you'd like to believe that strat is fake...

  • you sucks....

  • You "sucks" at grammar.

  • Made me want to roll one up..and I don't smoke...

  • I'm actually not using a pedal in this clip...

  • is it the Jimi Hendrix Eexperience pedal?

  • chile is a blues jam and child is more of a song i think

  • Can someone explain the difference between voodoo child and chile? I always thought it was a typo...

  • well... your pretty good, but your playing power chords on the 0 to 3 on the first string for the verse, when its not really that... sounds kinda weird. Also sounds very sketchy...

  • I feel like it needs the power chords to drive the song, especially if it's just the guitar playing it. If you just play E and G notes instead of chords it sounds weak to me.

  • yeah i know what you mean, but i feel like the thin-ness of the riff should be like how it was written, keeps it from sounds too 80's or rock and keeps it more bluesy. But thats just my opinion, and how i play it, your open to your interpretations, but good song none the less. Good job keep up the good work.

  • One word... Awesome.

Though, it sounds a like your triplets are a little weak.

    Constructive criticism.

  • Yeah I agree with you, when I recorded this I had been playing for hours before hand and my fingers were teeming with lactic acid which slowed me down a lot. I'm usually faster than it shows here. Oh well, it is what it is.

  • awesome. you got the feel down on that. and the tone from the marshall shines.

  • get a wah pedal other than that great!

  • In response to finkin.. i think you meant the inverse of what you said. This is definitely the song Voodoo CHILE(slight return) and NOT Voodoo Child.(which are 2 very distinct songs by hendrix). An innocent mistake i'm sure.

  • It's been my experience that the names "Voodoo Chile" and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" get thrown around a lot. As far as I know, Voodoo Chile was a longer jam recorded around 1968 that contained song components which would later be formed into his Voodoo Child (slight return). And yet every recording I've heard with either of those titles sounds the same to me. What is the huge distinction between the two?

  • Nice man i can play begining of it and i think i have the same guitar.

  • Loving it man! fantastic I.M.O! i love hendrix and i would love to be able to play his stuff but i suck at guitar so ill just listen to you :P great stuff!

  • Good guess, the neck pickup and the center pickup are Dimarizo, but the black one at the bridge is Seymore Duncan. I'm using just the bridge pickup here to give me more drive.

  • Good work man but this is Voodoo Child, not Voodoo Chile.

  • doing good man keep rockin
