@fiddlerfart Dude, that's messed up. I never would have noticed that in a million years. In answer to your question, I think that, yes, it is a coincidence. An awesome coincidence.
hi @agentk01.how it comes that your track is from josi records, and others from reprise.i mean this song is from the 70'period right? and this song youll find in the rejuvenation album from 1974.thought the meters signed 72 with reprise label? anything is wrong here...
How is it possible that kissing someone can make someone feel so good?? The 70s was a simpler time, but he sure gets the message over in the song. Brilliant.
Saw George Porter play at Snug Harbor with the Herlin RIley quartet, over the weekend, he pulled the funk out of that bass guitar, yes he did, Lord have mercy!
I heard about the Meters, but i thought it was a myth, did not no funk could be this nasty.Smellin it through my screen. This is that low down doo doo dirty sewer water toejam dirty diaper FUNK.
Haven't found Mr Moon on YT either...and one tune I can't find, used to play it years ago...I'd know it when I heard it, but for the life of me can't remember the name. I might just upload a vid of me playing the hook line, maybe someone can identify it for me... thanks again for posting.
do you have the instrumental version too? I Need that one for my brother, he wants to do it on a talentshow.. if you have it can u send me a DL link??
If you upload any more dude, why not He Bite Me, or Good 'ol Funky Music. I dont actually need to hear it here, I have all this stuff, but others will enjoy
@13Bassmann - Peace, actually Public Enemy used this sample in thier track called "Public Enemy No. 1" or the track "MPE". back in 1987. Check on it. Chuck D flows over the beat.
@chuchunezbie hip hop killed funk/soul? you must be out your mind kid! if anything it brought it back... thru sampling. being able to recreate an entire song in an entire different organization and tune is super difficult, but they never forget where it came from and pay royalties... thats why hip hop has so much soul and organic instruments.
Wow thnx everyone for letting me know how you all feel about the NOLA funk. @agentk01 I can't think of any, there are so many funk tracks I love from my childhood (I was born in the 80s but a friends parents used to listen to this stuff all the time) but I can never remember their names, it's really annoying. Glad that there are people such as yourself taking the time to put these up for us all though! Cissy Strut was my favourite song as a kid. So good.
Introduced to the meters by Public Enemy. Funk doesn't get any more simple or freaking groovy, I just can't keep still to this. Love the drop after the key change.
