Main reason being the problem of doing a simultaneous run of an NES and SNES game makes verifying the validity of the claim difficult/time consuming.

And you can't do both on All-Stars because you can't have one input play the same game two different ways.

I tampered with the emulator. It accepts joystick input from a program rather than actual hardware. Said program is just a splitter which reads a joystick and outputs to two programs. Start both paused, press Record, and then hit the unpause button the joystick, starting both games at once.

Computers multi-task. Any modern CPU (dual core or otherwise) is fast enough to run two SNES emulators at the same time. Just get them to accept the same input and start the at the same time. A little bit of programming was involved to pull this off, but I'd already done the work for the tool-assisted version.

I abused some features of Linux and slightly modified snes9x to change its joypad handling.

Some variations of snes9x for Windows may allow input reading when the program isn't in the foreground. You can use this in multiple copies of snes9x to let them get the same input at once. Where to find these versions or how to set them up is up to you.

Heh, this was pretty cool. Nothing was very impressive about this though, except that you were able to get the charge upgrade while fighting Chill Penguin without getting hit by penguin. You know, you're not as good in real time as I thought you'd be, judging from the times one game was idle. Anyways, really cool. I did something like this a while back with X2 and X3. It's shorter, though.
