  • i think the singer looks better with long hair

  • The cable guy, soundtrack '-'

  • got the pure massacar vinly the other day and the blind track on that sounds so effing good!

  • cable guy's soundtrack

  • the name is Spock , if we don't battle to the death...theyyyy will kill us both

    THIS ISN'T STAR TREK.

  • OMFG WOW!!!!! They look like SHIT!!!!

  • here's a different, more rare version (in my opnioun alot better, and clearer): ww.youtube.com/watch?v=W-5P_oUapkQ&feature=related (add in an extra "w")

  • People that think that Daniel should still be writing the same kind of music he was when he was 14 years old need to have their head examined.

  • @Joegreen29 Maybe you and Daniel should have YOUR head checked. Its like if I go out and sell cheese. Every one loves my cheese and signs contracts to buy my cheese for five years. But after two of them years I decide to change the recipe of the cheese and still try to sell it as the old cheese. The new cheese wasn't the cheese that made it popular in the first place so why should people have to stick with something thats changed?

..moral of the story? Silverchair is the cheese..

  • @MDC01FLY Uh huh. That makes sense. Musicians totally make the same exact music their entire careers all the time. Like you know, how the Beatles made "I want to hold your hand" over and over. Metallica only made music just like "Kill em All" for 30 years. And so on. There's no room to get older and have your tastes change. Never! That's totally how music works!

Moral of the story; you don't have to like it. But to expect them not to change since 95'; fucking retarded.

  • @Joegreen29 No, it does make sense. Even though I was using cheese, but then this music is cheese-to me. My opinion ass wipe! HAHA Its your stupid break down that makes no sense. Metallica changed, but they're still heavy. Your wanna be Nirvana band has went from grunge to pop! Completely different formulas you dumb imbecile! I shouldn't expect to hear any of you idiots come across with any thing that would make sense. You just want to fight. It makes you feel good-fake just like SChair!

  • Respond to this video...And you can't compare Epic bands like Metallica and even The Beatles to Silverchair!! How dare you! Silverchair may have been around since 95'ish, but its only little cock suckers like yourself who listen to them! They haven't done anything important since 95'ish, so go get a cup of reality and overdose on it, you seriously need it you dumb mother fucker!! Im spamming you from now on, so don't bother.U and "Shitonmylips" should get together Ur both stupid, LOL

  • @MDC01FLY Sounds like a pretty mature and reasonable response to a difference of opinion, good luck with that. And btw, they've released several critically acclaimed hit albums in their Country and world wide. Toured successfully worldwide, and maintained a loyal following from millions of fans in those intervening years. That's hardly nothing important. What is it you've done in that time that's any better? I'd love to hear it.

  • @MDC01FLY Wow, you're like fucking retarded. Are you 13?

  • @iknowurwatching7 No, but what are you, 7? lol What a dick!

  • @MDC01FLY

    ...I'm 17.

  • From this great song to that shitty ass walking in a straight line crap what happened? you dont have to keep making 90s music but never go pop

  • I love silverchair....

    ..

  • sick of everyone talking shit about silverchair because their music evolved into something different! if u r a true silverchair fan u like their new stuff i know i am!! i luv it and i luv the old

  • @TheCwood21 well its not about being a true fan or not, ive always liked artists who do take the risk to experiments and change because well life is just that way, u can't expect someone to make the same shit for ages, so its ok if they go more calm or pop than the beginings, but i just don't like their new songs, it just doesnt touch me, i like pop songs like pulp, and britpop or folk, dreampop, shoegaze, crazy 80's pop, but the new silverchair, i just don't get it.

  • I love the intro

  • i agree older silverchair is solid. this stuff is simply mediocre

  • "guy... get on the friggin' horse i don't think he's playing"

    lol priceless

  • Come back so that I may brain thee!

  • I still love the way he yells "fuck!" at the end

  • great soundtrack

  • Cable Guy!!!!!

  • Does he have a fuckin black eye?

  • the name is spock.. and we must fight to the death or they will kill us both

  • 1:20 :)

  • hahah it's nice to see i'm not the only one who got into this song because of The Cable Guy

  • cable guy is one of the most underrated movies, and every time you look it up in youtube it just shows that fat piece of shit larry the cable guy

  • bdddddddddAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! bddddddddddddaAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! bddddddaaaa!!!!!!!

  • Listen fella get on the damn horse. I think this guy means business.

  • if we don't battle to the death theyyy will kill us both...

  • i can not listen to any of your instructions,

for you are my sworn enemy, and are about to meet your demise

  • Did this come out before Kittie-Brackish? Cuz that faster riff sounds just like the fast part in Brackish. That would be kinda funny if Kittie got it from them...

  • @zeronova77 yes it did, This song would be from around 1994, as it appeared on imprt pressings of Frogstomp, while "Brakish" was released in 1999.

  • Hello Clarice, It's good to see you again

  • Anyone who dont like cable guy can eat a family sized bowl of dicks. Jim carry is the shit!!!!

  • IM BLIIIIINDDDDE!!!!! MY EYES!!!

  • Nirvana has some of the best riffs in my opinion, but thats just my point of view. Best 90's Band. Seattle Grunge!

  • @TheDotAFanatic Nirvana got them from the Pixies, soft to hard but the singer from the pixies didn't look half as cool, Kurt even said he wanted to sound like the Pxies but also wwanted to remain an alternative band as apose to mainstream like the Pixies at the time at least in the U S anyway.

  • Diorama was the last true Silverchair album. Now it's just cheesy pop rock they're making. It's a shame really considering how talented this band is and how they matured and really developed their own sound and style with Neon Ballroom and Diorama.

  • Awesome band. have not heard anything from 2000 on up. but the 90's the were very talented....still are

  • at 1:35 it sounds like Soundgarden.

  • @boysangur thats exactly what i thought too man

  • God that's the heaviest riff in the world

  • this song was released on "the cable guy" soundtrack

  • jeez wtf happened?

they used to be cool an real but now they're so plastic and artificial!!!!!!!!!!

  • @HeroinBleeds interesting take. Because some would argue that the fact they evolved musically and artistically symbolizes growth and maturity. But hey if this is being plastic and artificial then so be it. I would much rather be able to listen to one band such as Siverchair and hear songs as these, and other earlier tunes then throw in some YMS and enjoy more artistic songs.

  • 1:35 - 2:05 is the bset part of the song.

  • Yeah that riff is so '90's rock. I love that shit.

  • Why wasn't this released as a single?!!

  • I have always wanted to hear the studio version of this. I bought the tomorrow single which featured the live version but could never find this one.

Thanks for the upload : )

  • silverchair are the best of the world

  • this is what they should sound like today but they don't

  • For sure. I love Silverchair, they're awesome. But the direction they took just doesn't appeal to me =(

I like the older stuff a lot more.

  • I completely agree.... it took me a while to get into diorama... i love it now but new modern is not to my taste!

  • @VulfII Same, the direction was fucked up in my opinion, they could have stuck to rock/grunge for at least another ten years, yes people will say he was too creative for that blah blah but come on how do you go from an epic song like emotion sickness to gay pop young modern ? Not many people could create emotion sickness but any idiot oculd write most of the songs on young modern e.g. they wrote better songs than straight lines at 12 & 13 for frogstomp.

  • @zzsharkaIf you follow the writer of their music (Johns), you'd see that that would have not been possible.Music is expression of self.He is true to himself.Go pretend your 12 (if your not)and put on frogstomp, while the people who appreciate music purity listen to the new "gay pop" album as you put it. You probably think Diorama and The Dissociatives suck too huh? Must be nice to be so simple minded and one dimensional...PS Love Nirvana, but there can only be 1& the Kurt is dead.

  • @Chadstravels No you misunderstood where I was coming from. I Liike Diarama allot, not the disscociativese though such as "Young man old man", maybe If I was gay I'd appreciate that song. (Not saying you're necessarily gay if you are male but how many hedrosexual men would have been impressed with "young man old man" ? ) ok so he's bi but I'm not so I'm not into that.

  • @zzsharka Listen (no watch) "Horror with Eyeballs" off the newer Dissociatives. There is emotion, creativity and talent in this piece. I think if you are a music fan at all, you will agree.

  • @Chadstravels ok you got me, the Dssociatives are very good, hate to admit it hehe that one's ok but I listened to a few more songs of theirs which I like more than that one, thanks.

  • @zzsharka I like Mr. Meeble. That is a cool song/video! Anyway, to each there own. I just happen to like that song. He references " feeding my animals" from the song 'tuna in the brine' off diorama... How is it down there these days. I'm looking to move your way in the coming year. (no I'm not an ignorant american, I know we suck and want out of here, haha) Take care...

  • @Chadstravels The issue I have with silvervhair is that johns is so much more talented than straight line, that son is a hit for the radio, I didn't like greatest view from Diarama either, it was catchy but the reason I didn't bye that single after buying every other one and albums previously was because any idiot could have written that song in a few minutes and they can do so much better than a pop song for the radio.

  • @Chadstravels By the way this was not an expression of self because Daniel said he was angry and wrote a whole lot of angry songs (a whole album) but pressed the eraze button because he didn't want an angry album anymore so he wrote a happy one instead which is not being true what you are feeling. This was pretending to be happy instead which probably just made him feel more depressed as you can see in his interviews now.

  • @zzsharka No I am not gay or bi because I like John's music..(?). I will say to be honest, I wasn't sure about young modern either. (I was always infatuated with Diorama however). I came down with reactive arthritis about 14 months ago. After that I could completely relate to the newer music (after diorama). He was doing what made him happy, because when your sick, you realize what is important and I have a lot of respect for that alone.Pls wish me well in my recovery and all the best to you...

  • They may be allot of things but they are definitely not the beatles of our time lol

  • that's your opinion! i respect!

  • The reason is cos silverchair were grunge & not the first of the grunge bands like sound garden, and Nirvana, then Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam and the music they play now is not new either. The beatle grew their hair and played differently to other bands before them and had a different sound. Nirvana did as well as they did not dress like rock stars and they were the first Grunge band to have massive commersial success and popularised the teenage angst thing with simple angry riffs etc

  • Bloody oath ! Gay pop was not why I got into silverchair and saw them live 13 times before the young modern days.

  • he was better when he was a kid. Or more the fact that we could excuse it because he was young...lol. He has a good voice he just hasn't been trained to use it well.

  • are you crazy? he's a very good singer

find me a better one in his music genre and at the age when they recorded this song, i.e. at about 16

    good luck with that!

  • caaaaaaaaaaaaable guy

  • i miss old silverchair to. Blind, Roses, and Frogstomp was there only good stuff

  • hard

  • the intro sounds like heart shaped box

  • not that much... just cause they both use arpeggios... :S

  • I. Love. The. Freaking. Chorus. O.O when the guitar gets all freaking awesomely fast like. So sick.

  • is this only on the soundtrack?

  • Hey, I think you can find this song on Silverchair's 'Best of...' CD. Look it up on Amazon!!! : )

  • good band, good song, good movie... too bad the "good band" part of what I said only refers to this song and Frogstomp :\

wth happened to grunge? I can't fucking stand listening to rock anymore for the past decade :(

  • Here, here!!! Music nowadays just plain sucks!!! I only listen to old STP and of course Silverchair!!!

  • Great Silverchair song. :)

  • the movie is great...you're obviously incapable of understanding it's beastliness

  • it's not a good movie for young kids they wont understand it...but it's a good movie for those who do

  • love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it,love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's kind of strange that his voice seemed deeper when he was an adolescent

  • because he forced his voice that way. Once he actually hit puberty he didn't have to force his voice to be so deep so he could sing more from the diaphragm instead of the throat like he is here

  • Love the song and love Daniel's vocals.

  • dude. this songg freakingg rox

  • i first heard this in cable guy. this song is as awesome as the movie!

  • both are great. whoever says otherwise has no taste.

  • Cable Guy got me into this song!

  • Same here man

  • @Ramin258 i second that!!! i was watching it today and here i am searching for this one xD

  • yeah.....

  • They used this song in Cable Guy during the Medieval Times scene. It's funny how the song's name is "Blind" and Jim Carrey gets blinded in the scene. LOL ^_^

  • I miss the old silverchair

  • WE all do, bro.

  • Damn straight.

  • i'm glad some people post these videos happy to hear the original silverchair ...
