  • Ah. The Romulan Battle Bagel.

At least, as I like to call it.

  • @firefox8192 the drederix class is 1353 meters long, or approximately twice the galaxy class. The are 40-something stories tall. Cost, the constitution class caused several billion credits, so top-of-the-line starships are the equivalent of aircraft carriers.

  • @MrClone501st Borg cubes are the biggest, but I think they mean conventional starships. Borg cubes aren't really starships as the are random shapes of the random stuff.

  • Mmmmh Romulan Warbird *droooool*

  • WE ARE BORG....THIS SHIP WILL BE ASSYMILATED LMAO.

  • Now I read somewhere that the D'deridex Class Warbird is the Largest Ship in Star Trek, But arn't their Borg Cubes larger?

  • The most beautiful alien ship in Star Trek, and a deadly beauty at that.

  • @Scioneer Definately Agree with you. One of the best scenes in startrek with the warbirds has to be in DS9 when the fleet of warbirds decloaks in formation. Such Stunning Percision is Scary for anyone who is Enemies with the Romulan Empire

  • WHERE DO THEY COME UP WITH THESE DESIGNS?

    GIANFRANCO FRONZI AUGUST

  • ...i like the yellow color better...it stands out better...that might be bad in a battle :)

  • @SteveSabbai That doesn't matter too much as Rihannsu(Romulan) ships tend to have weaker armor and work best as hit, cloak, recharge, and hit again. Rather that is than in just a pure stand up fight. Imperial ships are almost always a dark green, but can come in any number of colors based on what a commander wants. Especially if that Commander is a member of Tal Shiar and wishes to stand out from the standard fleet.

  • Fantastic

  • Not too keen on the gold one. Good vid tho

  • great vid! the d'deridex series warbirds are beautiful ships. is the gold warbird suppose to be the praetor's flagship? :)

  • @sweetguy410 It would hardly be fitting for any of the Praetors or the senate to leave the safety of ch'Rihan or ch'Havran. Even so then it would be a far better idea to make the ship standard as then it can fly in convoy and not become an obvious target. A custom color ship would much more likely belong to a Tal Shiar commander, as a manner of standing out from the fleet, and saying "think twice before messing with me." As Tal Shiar is more often used to police internal intelligence issues.

  • @KiraZeroYamato It seems Romulan senators aren't safe anywhere;-) We know that at least 3 Romulan senators left Romulus: Vreenak (killed in a small, Romulan shuttle by Garak), Letant (survived the trip to DS 9) and Cretak, who travelled at least once on a federation vessel (imprisoned/possibly executed, courtesy of Section 31) As for the safety of the Romulan homeworlds: There is the small matter of Shinzon's thalaron weapon... And the Hobus supernova. Poor guys...

  • @ladythalia Well the whole Shinzon Arc, As well as the Reman Apparence, and the super nova of one of the most stable stars in the entire sector are all Rick Berman approved things. That man has bent Star Trek for his own fan drool for too long. The whole set up of the Eisn(Hobos) supernova thing was a fanboy wank. But yes Senators often get tapped for diplomatic missions. Plus the normal succession for their senate is assassination by their own kid who is succeeding them.

  • @KiraZeroYamato I agree that the destruction of Romulus & Vulcan was stupid, don't think it got him many fans, either... However, according to Diane Duane, Eisn is the homesun, and as i understand it, that wasn't the sun that went supernova. According to Countdown, Hobus was a sun located on the fringes of the Romulan star system. And where did you read that Romulan senators are assassinated by their own children? It's not a part of any continuity I've heard or read about?

  • @ladythalia Eisn(homesun) is the star that ch'Rihan(of the declared) and ch'Havran(of the travelers) orbit, aka Romulus and Remus. Both Romulus and Remus orbit Hobus. Basically the names in Rihanai and Federation English standard. Also Romulan politics are bloody, if a child feels that their parent is making bad decisions as a political leader mnhei'sahe demands action. Plus Romulan political seats are hereditary. Then again sometimes political leaders have to murder each other too.

  • @KiraZeroYamato Sorry, but that directly contradicts what is stated in on Memory Alpha & Star Trek Countdown, the official prequel to ST11. They both say that the Hobus system was an alltogether different solar system, far away, and NOT the Romulan solar system. Therefore, Romulus did not orbit the Hobus star (which was a dying star) Check Memory Alpha under "supernova". As for the assassination part; I guess that's your opinion, it's certainly not canon, or Duaneverse: Fan fiction at best...

  • @KiraZeroYamato According to Memory Beta, The Hobus star is located in the Beta Quadrant's Devron sector, 500 light-years from Romulus. Besides, a sun only goes supernova when it's dying. A dying star has lost its mass long ago and cannot support life on surrounding planets. Any civilization living on a world orbiting a dying star, will be long dead before the star goes supernova. I think this is all conclusive evidence that Eisn and Hobus are not the same stars.

  • @ladythalia Except that Hobus directly destroyed Romulus. Remember that the Romulans fled Vulcan 1700 years prior. They lived on Romulus. Also you must have not read the Rihannsu books very well because assassination of Political leaders was mentioned numerous times in the book for successors to take their parent's seat. Admittedly most of it is cloak and dagger, using third parties but it's mentioned. I have all 5 books on reference and a quick scan though them mentions it a lot.

  • @KiraZeroYamato As much as I love The Rihannsu series, and think it is BETTER, it is not canon, Roddenberry himself made sure of that. He called the books poorly written fan fiction and took offence, therefore I tend to argue from the the point of view of the actual films and series. There is no Tricameron, and nothing in the films suggest that the seats are hereditary and that parents are assasinated by their children. Just as Ch'Havran doesn't resemble the canonical planet Remus in any way:-(

  • @ladythalia Only by the time he was senile and old, then he died and rick berman took over the franchise and raped it.

  • @KiraZeroYamato Anyway; I think I'll leave it at that. To me, canon is canon, even when it's logically flawed. both Star Trek reference sites disagree with you. But who am I to argue, if you feel the need to think Eisn & Hobus are one and the same, go right ahead. As for the Rihannsu books; I didn't say it never happened, just not as often as you say. Their honour would not permit casual murder. Your version (to me) sounds more like Klingons killing their superiors to advance through the ranks

  • @ladythalia I'm not saying it's what was always done, just it wasn't unheard of. Since mnhei'sahe had less to do with honor and more to doing good by one's self and benefiting all other parties involved. If mnhei'sahe demands the spill of blood you're shamed if you don't.

  • @ladythalia Either way a star going super nova that far from the homesun would give the Romulans centuries to evacuate the area and move to other areas. So your point doesn't make any sense. Since Romulus was the capitol only a star going super nova in that system would give them no time to evacuate, and by that I mean hundreds, thousands or hundreds of thousands of years. Their capitol was destroyed by that event in the current canon, it makes no sense if it's that far away...

  • @KiraZeroYamato Don't blame me, blame the illogical scriptwriters, it makes no sense to me either, and all the fans have been bitching about the same arguments you are making right now for years. The only explanation given in the semi-canonical book The Needs of The Many is that the type 1a Hobus supernova had unexplained FTL (Faster Than Light) properties. In other words, the wave was propagating outward at multi-warp speeds, something no natural supernova should be able to do. (Memory Beta)

  • OOOOOOOOOooooooooooo Gold Warbird! is that skin available anywhere?

  • To get the gold camo do you have to max out all other ships in the battleship class?

  • Amazing video, please keep uploading them!

  • Beautiful ship!

  • that is amazing.from which movie is this ?????.....the ship looks amazing....

  • thank you.....what a talent you have,,,,,the kids and I look forward to your next vid!!!

  • Gold D'deridex? I haven't recall seeing it anywhere ,any episode.

  • Very interesting...

  • Not too keen on the gold one - the green colour adds even more menacingness to 'em. Can you imagine a gold Enterprise? Or a gold Borg Cube lol? The Warbird looks beautiful AND fearsome at the same time. Only Trek could come up with that. Along with a ship that is a simple shape but also menacing in looks - the Borg Cube. Great video tho, well done!!

  • i love the romulan warbird..is one of my favorites ships of star trek

  • only word: WONDERFUL!

  • Always found this to be a pleasing design, not practical, but pleasing. Practical goes out the door anyway just look at starships in general as their shape is usually aerodynamic and sleek for no reason at all....They just look cool, which is not how ships get built.

  • Nicely done. Not too keen on the gold one, as my first thought was "pimp my warbird", but I thought that the models and video were beautiful.

  • Idk. I believe aircraft carriers cost is in the billions so a romulan warbird would prolly be in the high trillions.

  • wow...magnificent!

  • Awsome. The romulans are my favorite startrek race and this is my favorite ship. I always wanted to see the enterprise D go 1 vs 1 with one of these in the show. Ofcourse we never got that because startrek is all peace and happyness

  • Just amazing and beautiful.....thank you thank you!!!!!

If the preator had a ship that would be it!

  • COOL! Romulans were my fav back in the day when I used to watch next generation on TV. Romulan warbird such a wicked design. Only,...why does it go from the green to gold colour? Is that your own personal ship? :-P Must be pretty sweet to own a warbird. Wish I was that rich :-(

  • Romulans are deceptive coniving race who's ships show's force and well stab there allies in the back if it suited there needs (attack on the klingon world kitamure when they was allies) and there ships are build to outclass the federation's and then some in power :)

P.S Long Live The Romulan Empire :D

  • how much would a Warbird cost if it was real? does anyone have the measurments for a warbird? it looks huge.

  • @firefox8192 ... i too would like to know that...can anyone speculate?

  • @terrainofthought its about 1.3 killometres long

  • Even though the D'deridex Class is one of the enemy's, you have to admit it is a beautiful ship, even though it is commanded by the Romulan Star Empire.

As always, Rifleman you are undeniably the creative genius of this venue of Star Trek videos.

Live long and prosper, but always watch your back for the Tal Shiar! LOL!

    airwolfflies.

  • @airwolfflies

I agree, The Warbird has to be the most majestic of the adversaries Starships. She's both beautiful and deadly looking at the same time. Something the Scimitar and Valdore both failed at. Also, going by your name, you're not an Airwolf fan by any chance? the Warbird and Airwolf were both designed by Probert.

  • D'deridex, I loved this ship from day 1.

I admit as Romulan ships go my favorite is the Valdore, but 'the big one' always has a special place in my fleets.

  • No Arguing!

  • however in the dominion war these things were blown up left and right. the nerada can fire simulataneously 25 torpedoes!!!

  • The Nerada is a piece of crap mining ship! It fired IMPROVISED MINES! That movie had so many holes in it I can't be bothered mentioning them all.

  • I'd like to see a similar showcase with the Klingon Negh'Var warship

  • Looking at the Command Module, I can hear a woman in the background saying...

"Get away from her, YOU BITCH!"

  • dude! amazing work!

  • Those textures look good on the D'deridex.

    Great vid as always.

  • Great video as usual Rifle.

Nice use of your dL textured Warbird :)

    dL-Sov does some great work.

    ~ dL-Defiant

  • Great stuff!

  • amazing ship!

but the music is from dragonheart (to the stars) by randy edelman i think.

  • It is? Then the music file was mismarked, I shall fix that! Thanks!

  • Awesome!!!!!
