Lynn 15,wenn man genauer hinsieht, sieht man, das Haldir eher zwischen den Schulterblättern oben getroffen wurde, ich meine aber doch mehr, in den Nacken.Ich weiß gar nicht, warum es so einige mit dem Helm haben, schaue man genauer hin! Haldir ist der beste Character im Film.Sie stellten die Elfen ganz schön dumm da, als könnten sie nicht kämpfen .Kein Elf hat überlebt außer natürlich Legolas.Die Elfen kamen um abgeschlachtet zu werden, und wurden dann nicht mehr erwähnt.

Lynn 15, if you look closer, you see, the more Haldir between the shoulder blades was taken up, but I think more white in the Nacken.Ich not know why there are so few have a helmet, you take a closer look! Haldir is the best character on the fairies Film.Sie presented as pretty stupid when they could not fight. No team has survived except, of course Legolas.Die elves came to be slaughtered, and were not mentioned anymore.

agreed with responses re: lack of book references for this event. Also, they are blonde wtf??? I've been asking this question since the films came out. According to JRRT all elves are dark haired save for the (High Elven) 'golden house of Finrod'. Haldir, Legolas, all those guys are wood elves and should be dark of hair. I lost interest in the film elves when I saw that this detail had been 're-imagined'.

Haldir was not at Helm.s Deep. According to the book anyway. It's a movie people!! No elves were at Helm's Deep. Solarunner's comment is correct. Movies never stay true to the books. It's a matter of "Artistic License". It worked in the movie however. Elves fighting alongside men was a great idea. I think Tolkien would have approved!

How can you people be stating exactly how Haldir died? If you read the book, you'd know that he never was at the battle for Helms Deep and isn't in the book at all after the fellowship passes through Lothlórien.

@satan163 no, Haldir is a Silvan Elf (wood-elf). As to the other Elves with him at Helms Deep, who knows, since their presence at that battle is not canon.

He never died Peter Jackson just crossed the line with this change. I like the fact that he changed Saruman death from the Shire setting but he shouldn't have killed characters who did not die in the book.

craiq parker is an amazing actor. sadly many of his scenes were cut out from the version shown in the cinemas.

Actually Haldir did die in a book that was written by J.R.R Tolkien, but published by his son. It was called "Children of Hurin". He fell in battle with most of the men of brethil. So he did die in the movie just not in that book. (PS I liked him too it's sad that he died.)

Me too, VictoriaNejdling! I scream and cry whenever I watch Haldir die! I want to turn away, but it's also the last time we see him. It's so torturous.

At least we get revenge. If you watch the Extended Edition of Return of the King, when they take the Corsair ships, Legolas kills the Bo'sun. The Bo'sun is played by Peter Jackson! I see that as revenge for killing Haldir.
