I think the scenes above pretty much capture Barrow and how it was even into the 80s (park, the merry-go-round in the market etc.). For me Barrow had pretty much had it post 1992 when VSEL laid off myself and several thousand others. While I share some of the sadness that Bernard mentions I also think it was a signifier for many of us to broaden our horizons elsewhere. I could not imagine living in Barrow ever again sadly

Wow, this is fab. A little different to today, what a shame ...and everyone is so well dressed. Love it : ) Great to see so many children outside enjoying themselves.
