  • My band played this last year for State Assesment :D We kicked ass X)

  • @TRUMPETGUY69 My symphonic band was going to play this for our district evalulation and the song isn't frickin' medium easy. You need to get the sheet music and try to sightread it faster than how it's played here. Not fun.

  • that was the worst trumpet posture i have seen in while 1:54

  • That's how fast we played it during sight-reading! 8th grade Clarinet. 2nd chair... And I think we are amazing!!!!

  • couldn't be played slower... :/

  • no dynamic contrast (ESPECIALLY AT THE TRIO :( AND AT THE PART WHERE IT GOES FROM FF TO P IN THE REPEATED SECTION IN THE BEGINNING!!!), way too slow, trumpets too loud at trio, and no retard to grandioso...ITS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE A BROKEN/SLOW CARNIVAL!!! cmon, guys!!

  • hey it's very well played... who cares about euphoniums and bass clarinets?!

you don't know how to play them so sh*t up!!

  • man these people suck, they dont know how to do dynamics and they didnt even do the grandioso! thats best part of the song!

  • What the f**k is a harp doing in there. You can't even hear it.

  • where are the bass clarinets??

    too slow..

  • My middle school band is playing this and I am a proud Euphonium player. Our section rules!

  • im in a middle school band and i play it faster and better. those trombones are softies. they call us the voice of god. MAN UP TROMBONES!

  • @EmblemOfUnity Just because you play obnoxiously loud and play it too fast definitly does not mean you play it with the same skill level.

  • im in a middle school band and i play it faster and better. those trombones are softies.

  • -because the recording is on a camcorder.

What irks me about youtube is how people instantly become armchair band directors when they can comment.

  • In those who say that this is too slow:

This march isn't a quickstep. Not all marches are played at 140.

For those who say that they play this better:

It's easy to see the mistakes in others, and a lot harder to see them in yourself. Get over yourself.

And for those saying that there's not enough dynamic contrast:

I agree, however, this is a recording on a camcorder, not professional sound equipment. The band I play in has a ton of dynamic contrast, yet it's impossible to tell--

  • @ATubaPerson dude im playing it at my school band, watch my video, i might have it in 2011 since its a winter concert. trust me were the one of the top bands in florida

  • My high school has marched this for parades every year for the past 13 years.

  • I'm sorry, BARELY hear dynamic contrast.

Grow up! You aren't all that. Just because you are older does not mean you are better. SlashedAndGashed is right, this band has the ego bigger then Snooki's ass, and the maturity of an uncontrollably laughing three-year old.

  • i love your band, my band has this song, and our trumpets are way too loud, upperwoodwinds are way to soft, and the one tuba part can never be heard i really like the trio that you played, but what was with that part after the trio, isn't it supposed to be mark Grandioso?

  • Those trumpets really need to get their bells up...

  • @evanellis yea

  • Not enough contrast at measure 13 in the dynamic range. It goes from loud to some what less loud.

  • Ugh... Sorry, but my high school band sounds much better than this!! The tempo is so slow it sounds like they're dragging. There's no dynamic contrast whatsoever (that's the worst part!)

  • @blueheart26 ikr

  • We are playing this exact song in eighth grade...

  • @irishdancer726 me too but my part of the band is seventh and eight, im in thew seventh part. im 3rd trombone.the trombones are wimps here

  • gawd i thought the announcer would never stfu lol. first thing i thought at the very start of the song was... not enough bottom, n i love their part. then that what sounds like a french horn came in wit dat note so obnoxiously lol i though it was sorta funny n the trumpets were playing to the floor but i guess since there were so many it made sense. they did a good job but near the end i love it when you can clearly hear the symbol crashes. it's more preppy that way.

  • Wow, memories!

They got sloppy on the dogfight section just like we did in high school ^_^

  • we marched to this last yr and it was pretty amazing...but of course we went a lil faster

  • we're doing this song for our first concert but we're taking A LOT faster. but its easy so the marching band is performing it for any gig that we get as well as disneyland

  • haha, marylin. ;p

  • WHERE ARE THE EUPHONIUMS!!!????

  • @friendofshoes ikr

  • we played this my freshman year but was way faster. i liked it back then cause it sounds better faster. this is good tho

  • Im in middle school and its not that hard.. of course, i play trombone, so im not the best judgeof difficulty. our parts aren't ever that hard.

  • You probably have the dumbed version.

It's what usually happens when you're in Middle School.

My high school's Wind Ensemble just did it.

We struggled somewhat, but it's a cute song.

    :3

  • god! my band director tried to get us to play this, thank god we convinced him otherwise!!

  • My middle school band played this!!!

  • were playing this song in my middle school and we are near perfect! we just have like 3 measures that need work.

    =->

  • This song was very blah. EXPECIALLY at the Grandioso. That is supposed to be fortisimo and SLOWER. then get to the subito and accelerando and speed up and get louder but start VERY SLOW AND SOFT. but the blend i thought was very good among the band. Nice job overall!

  • Yeah seriously, I can't believe a band such as these people wouldn't have done that.

  • Excuse you, but I have played it. Our high school band played it for concert festival and got superior ratings. And it was a 9-10 grade band. It's not hard.

  • ha. we're a middle school symphonic band and we got straight ones. we must be better.

  • hahaha. A middle school band could play the piece but not with the same skill a more mature band could pull off. Grow up.

  • @SlashedAndGashed HEY! MY MIDDLE SCHOOL BAD CAN DO JUST AS GOOD! we are ranked like the top ten best bands of florida, we get straight superiors every yr=ear ty very much!

  • @SlashedAndGashed I seriously put that as my facebook status as the greatest youtube comment ever.

  • Err, not the best performance of this song I've heard. It's rather dull, probably due to the lack of dynamics or enthusiasm..

Our high school symphonic band is playing this for festival. Nice piece. But what's with the lack of bells?!

  • bell parts are added to other versions, it is originally a MARCH

  • too slow and needs more dynamics

  • 1500th view! lol

  • 1500th view! lol

  • o ya and the flute was wayyy droopy (i play flute)

  • omg! we r playing this for UIL it's my fav. song!....and we r way beter than these people and we r in midle school... they don't use dynamics and they messed up several times...

  • this song sounds like sumthing u'd find in a circus.

    its boring

  • wow

    this is stupid

    sounds so easy

and something u'd find in a circus

  • ok u try playing it if u think it's easy...cuz it's not, it's highschool level and i'm only in 7th grade

  • We're playing this also, but a lot faster!! Very faster ^^

  • I love this song.

We are playing it for band festival.

    We are going to win.

And this band needs to use more dynamics.

And they began to slow down around the two minute mark.

And in the 2:20 part they weren't together.

    But overall good.

  • We are playing this in band! For UIL. They don't use dynamics....

  • playing this for UIL!

  • i'm playing this song (tuba) in our grade 7-12 band, i kinda like it

  • but now we're not because "the range is too high" for the younger students. fuck. i wanted to play this so badly.

  • were playing this song too!

  • i play this in st. cecilias music society

  • I wonder how experienced the players are in this band...

  • wow! we're playing this song for 8th grade UIL contest it's going to rockk!

  • i too enjoy this song and i am only in seventh grade.

  • i love this song! we play this in band! yay! and im 12! wow!
