I really appreciate how your videos remove any intimidations from garden projects. I did the raised beds (wonderfully simple!) but never though of this and I have been SO wanting to add a water feature but I can't do a lot of digging (back issues). Thank you for this "lesson"! I'm starting mine next weekend!
lol...i search water garden & up pops patti the garden girl...which i already subscribe too...anyways, i built a water garden at my last house & was thinking it would be cool to build one here in sunny florida....i used a rubber mil liner last time...because, it was like a small pond....i laugh when i seen you hope in your liner ...because it looked like a 2 person heart shaped jacuzzi...lol...i know i'm crazy...but, definely something that makes you say...hmmm....lol.....thanks for the tips!
Shouldn't you have rinsed the gravel you put in the bucket first? This must have cost a fortune! It came out very nice though. Do you have any ideas for a more economic budget, around $250 to $300?
You are a wonderful teacher for us all. I am going to try this on the shaded side of my house this spring! My husband works at a hardware store so I am going to take advantage of his employee discount! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
This is nice...please post more water gardens, Patti. I'm looking forward to making more of them on the balcony. Any suggestions of water plants I can place in a shaded balcony? Goldfishes are great to control the mosquitoes and they're so lovable pets =)
Thank you for this easy demonstration! I have been wanting a fountain in my yard for some time. I will get right on this project in the spring. How do you maintain your fountain in the winter?
great pond, why do ppl have to come on here finding fault with everyones pond, with dumb ass comments like Congrat - you just built a huge mosquito breeding ground a few yards from your house. FAIL.
Hi Patti, what a great garden project! I love the selection of plants you chose... say, why weren't the chickens used to prepare the soil? (">.. sorry, had to toss that in. Those hose screw clamps are available in regular carbon steel and also stainless... stainless is what I hope you chose, the carbon steel versions can rust out and fail in record time :{ You're awesome as always and have such great projects to share! I like the shade, will reduce algae and keep the water cool...

No mosquitos, the water is kept moving. BT can be added, I just throw a couple of 25 cent gold fish in.
