I like ya'll reviews and I've personally picked out this sniper rifle for my own taste. I got the shadow ops mk96(l9) from evike and I'm hoping that when it gets here I wont have any issues with the hop up. If you want I can upload a video to show you how the shadow ops accuracy and power works on mine.

It's not the hop up that's screwing up your aim, it's the weight of the bb. .20-.25 gram bb's will go completely straight

Great review, thanks for letting me know to get this gun! Hey little kids, don't buy piece of crap guns at Walmart. Save up and buy a decent quality gun. I would recommend G&Gs for an AEG or UTG for spring guns (shotguns, sniper rifles, ect). Also, be sure to use .25g or heavier BBs kids! Make sure you don't shoot your eye out while you are at it...

@apeck100 Airsoft sniper rifles generally shoot at a much HIGHER velocity than AEGs. Your typical AEG shoots at around 330-370 FPS out of the box, where as snipers can shoot 500+ FPS out of the box. Therefore, I recommend you and your friends stick to cheap springers, as that's what would suit your needs best.

P.S. Your assessment of AEGs is completely uneducated by the way.

Here's a solution to the hop up problem, open up the gun, find your hop up, check to make sure the nub and the rubber sleeve aren't broken or out of line, if they are seemingly fine, then just use pliers and take the nub out. It should work a little better

@patriots5fan well all conventional airsoft guns use 6mm, so size is not in question. if you have this or a similar rifle you might start with 0.25g rounds and see how you like the accuracy versus the fps. if you want more accuracy switch to 0.3g rounds.

I bought this sniper and i have a similar problem with the hop up. My fix for it is to use .4g BBs and buy the upgraded spring guide and spring. Even still i get about a 4 inch rise at 20 yards. Accuracy extent with alot of zeroing (almost two hours worth) at about 60-70 yards (with .4g) the BB starts to drop, but with a little hop-up and almost no wind, i can hit a a cluster of cans 9/10 times. the can is dented slightly and usually falls over. At close range (420FPS) full sodacan penetration.

@godwhitepk the definition of airsoft includes that fact that airsoft guns use 6mm PLASTIC rounds. however, there are rare 6mm rounds that you can buy. they are illegal on ALL fields.
