I think the film Zeitgeist is provocative and controvercial, but it bends the truth and goes too far to justify its main point - 'we are all controlled, and the government wants more control.' It should actually say that we are over taxed, and the government wants more tax dollars. When my dad was my age, his fed income tax was about 12%, now mine is at about 37%. When it gets to about 50% for most of us, that's virtual slavery.

I don't believe the government DOES want more tax dollars so much as they want people to spend more time scrambling for tax dollars. The Money Masters (part 1 and 2) can be found at google video (just type in The Money Masters). The Gospel of Thomas can be found in the Gnostic Gospels. Stick to a direct translation (I'm not a big fan of other peoples interpretations of the gospel...the words speak for themselves) if you can.

There is no vast conspiracy to do you in, and very little evidence to support the level of government fear the film suggests. Does the government want control? I think the film Zeitgeist is provocative and controvercial, but it bends the truth and goes too far to justify its main point - 'we are all controlled, and the government wants more control.' It should actually say that we are over taxed, and the government wants more tax dollars. When my dad was my age, his fed income tax was about 12%, now mine is at about 37%. When it gets to about 50% for most of us, that's virtual slavery.

Take a class in college or in grad school in comparative religion and present zeitgeist's zodiac arguments see where it gets you. If you were a student in my class proposing this you would have a lot of questions to answer about this theory of ancient near east religions. Try looking up some of the books used as references on googlebooks, read some of their sections. Do they actually look professional or scholarly? Some of their points are in all caps

While we debate religion, or vote for the best celebrity dancer, or flame poor Britney, we are being controlled and manipulated. When the day comes that our RFID chip is turned off and we become a refugee in our own country, probably only then will some realize that it is too late. What you are saying here is partly right, that people do focus on the story of Jesus and not what he said. That is being religious. But Jesus was very clear on who he was and that people needed to acknowledge that, like when he asked his disciples who they thought he was. The answers lie in Him not in us. We are not gods of the earth. That is a trick.

It's been a pleasure listening to someone has some insight. I'll agree, some of the teachings are very good. It's a shame that when I ask a religious person about why they believe, the answer is to the effect of "because he made miracles"...or because "we are told we should believe because it's in the bible". And alas, none of the teachings are even enacted....they are forgotten.
You were quite refreshing. Btw, I am not a Christian, but I know when I see something inspiring.

Very good points. I'd also like to point out that the illuminati hypothesis is just another myth the explian to the poor and disillusioned space-cases why some people have wealth and others do not. This is a myth to further encourage the masses of poor to not even try, to just feel resentful and paranoid. What a perfect way to hold people down; convince them their destiny is preplanned by some mythological brotherhood of tyrants. It's a good way to keep people from exploring their potential.

What I got from the film is that Jesus never existed, that he was just another mythical character taken from astrological findings. In other words Christianity is all based on myths and lies. There might have been a man called Christ, but he was just like you and I.

in our current way of living (beliefs, government, etc) the mark is an inevitability. It's symbolic but the RFID chips aren't really too far off. The only way to stop it is to completely abandon the current system...which, of course, we won't do.

thats not necessarily true, there are alot of anarchists in our generation that would never take a chip. I've posed the chip question to many of my peers and they said no. I dont know what's going to happen but im really quite pissed off at my mom and dad for giving me a life at this time. Anyway you gotta stay positive.

Oh, I absolutely agree that a small percentage of the population is against the chip. But a much larger percentage is so engrossed in their personal fears, insecurities, and need for distraction that they'll willingly sign up for the opportunity to be "part of the collective". The Money Masters (part 1 and 2) can be found at google video (just type in The Money Masters). The Gospel of Thomas can be found in the Gnostic Gospels. Stick to a direct translation (I'm not a big fan of other peoples interpretations of the gospel...the words speak for themselves) if you can.
