I want to be able to go there some day... That movie was such a big part of my life growing up, I can't imagine never seeing that place first hand! Then again, they'd likely toss me out as I'd either be walking through the halls in a maid costume, or I'd be running 'round the whole place grunting while wearing gold underwear.
was you sataying in the hotel or did u just turn up to film it cause iam going to the village were they filmed chitty chitty bang bang and the hotel is in the same area just woned if you had to ask th hotel before filming
2:40 So I guess that was the dining room from the movie where Eddie's corpse was under the table? I THINK that was the enterence to the dance floor where transalvainans were in the movie. But, that was a set. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
they ought to decorate the place with cobwebs and set the dining room table with lots of forks and random vegetables! and then they should send a random transvestite into the rooms at night to seduce all the guests.
i think their business would soar if they did that.
I wonder did they have the laboratory and the ballroom set up at the same time, or did they shoot scenes in one, tear it down, and build the other? I know that in the scene where Frank says "don't be upset" it was a mock-up of the lab made from previously torn-down pieces. Also, I didn't know that the dining room was actually on the ground floor. Could you could place some text on the video to explain what everything is, especially at Bray Studios?
Yes they did have them both at the same time, but once the lab scenes were done they took down the set and the pit that the elevator comes out of was part of the swimming pool in the floor show.
its amazing how this castle that has been used in one of the greatest shows ever is still standin, Richard O'Brien admitted in an interview that it was all failing down, there was leaks etc, its just amazing
yeah but it's at least 100 years old though...lol, it was funny the way lemmy said it...like i can't believe that castle is still standing since the 1970s....amazing!
i want to go there just so i can slide down the banister in a Magenta costume.... over and over and over again XD

@horrorjunkie92 That room was just a spare lounge when I worked there, they now use it as an extra conference room.
The "time warp room" wasn't shown in this video for some reason, it was to the left of that room through the bar.

Well, if you're interested, find the video Richard O'Brien did for VH1 where he tours the castle.

thats the point of building a castle...they are built to last! that castles probably been there for hundreds of years
televox212 4 years ago
It isn't really very old. It's quite young for a castle and looks older than it is. Compared to Windsor castle that house is a baby lol =]
