I just don`t get why people don`t differentiate between Ceroc and Modern Jive finally!! It is so annoying!! It comes from the same root but not the same. For Pete`s Sake!!! How comes they don`t see the difference? Music is different, timing is different and the moves are a lot more arty a slower in Ceroc.
ceroc & modern jive is the same its just different organisation, its taut very similar, i think there are 3 ceroc teachers in this clip and most of the people in the clip has won ceroc competitions, i think what your getting confused with is social dancing and competition dancing,
competition dancing use bigger flash ere moves! the same people compete in ceroc and modern jive!
@quietkeypaw : Thanks for the lecture but I know from personal experience that it is not the same thing. Everyone in our class can see the difference. When Ceroc bought us over, it just went downhill. People keep complaining about the music but Ceroc just plays what THEY like and what fits with that watery style. I have heard a lot of negative things about Ceroc as an organisation in other part of the country too, by the way. Let me not go into details. But what can one do? They are popular....
Maybe you got just bad luck with your particular teachers? In Australia at least that I know of, there is no "Modern Jive" company- they all have different names. There might be one in Melbourne, not sure. But that I know of, there is "Le Bop", "Ceroc Australia", "LeRoc", "Nuroc", "Ceroc and Modern Jive (CMJ)", etc. They are all just company names for the dance style of "Modern Jive". And most of the teachers from each dance company compete in competitions run by others.
Maybe you just got unlucky where you're at? In Australia I've been to several classes run by several different Modern Jive Companies- All called different company names. And they are fairly consistent here unless you go to an area where ceroc/modern jive hasn't really kicked off yet, or is still using the old, circular style. Particular venues tend to have similar teachers that teach a particular style. The new style is a lot more West Coasty.
I just don't get how anyone cold attempt to differentiate between Modern Jive and Ceroc.
You really have a serious problem if you think they are different. . . . . . .. .

I'd often wondered what had become of the Marshmallow Man post-Ghostbusters. It's good to see he's doing so well. Great routines.

And wear clean underwear, just in case there's an accident and you have to be taken to hospital.
