  • Be very careful.

  • old school CN was awesome fuck johnny test love johnnyquest

toonami had amazing anime that I would have considered adultish but kids could enjoy

  • there needs to be a badass dubstep remix of this, if whoever is up to or knows someone who may be up for it.... do not attempt if u are 140% sure (9gag russia ref. lol) cuz it must be perfection, perfected

  • "You are stopping on the road to GLORY!!!!"

Favorite part and probably one the most epic.

  • oh the memories

  • Toonami and the classic CN was the bomb buy they end up canceling everything with all the good shows now we got Johnny test and all the other crappy shows

  • shit when I first saw this as a kid I was thinkin it was some huge crossover movie

  • @Lpm1k3 Lol that would be too epic for TV.

  • @SlimD716V2 ikr but I do miss the ignorance of a child tho... so much imagination :)

  • @SlimD716V2 Yeah you're tv would explode from the awesomeness of it.

  • @Lpm1k3 I wish.

  • Where can we download the high-def/re-mastered versions of these promos, if it all possible? The quality is excellent.

  • @TheRealFolkBlues1 I would like to download these as well. The quality is amazing.

  • I remember this. I knew what the voices were going to say before they were said. I guess I watched Toonami enough to always subconsciously remember the stuff that were not shows.

  • I so remember this promo. Just incredible. I think I recorded it on a vcr tape once and watched it until I broke the tape. Good stuff.

  • @TekkorGJC I did the exact same thing. Literally watched the tape until it broke (which kind of sucked, because I had a bunch of episodes of the Cell Games on that one). I thought I was the only one who watched this promo incessantly. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

  • the good ol days of toonami, back when showing a gun on a kids show was acceptable.

  • ..........my god cartoon network sucks now..

  • does anyone have a list of all the shows in this promo; i recognize the big ones but some of the others i can tell

  • @justinhhp87 Tenchi in Tokyo, Gundam Wing/Endless Waltz, Blue Submarine No. 6, Outlaw Star and DBZ.

  • Bring back Toonami with Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, DragonBall Z, Ronin Warriors, ReBoot, Yuyu Hakusho, Megas XLR, Tenchi, and I will be a happy camper.

  • @soberchimera61 you forgot sailor moon, as well as johnny quest, big o, voltron, robotech, thundercats, ect

  • IF THIS MISSION FAILS.....IF WE ARE UNSUCCESSFUL.....we have no future

  • Does anyone know the Anime at :52/53 seconds of the guy shooting the beam?

  • @ROBUTT009 Yeah that's from Tenchi in Tokyo. The character's name is Hotsuma.

  • i think this might be the single best toonami promo there ever was.

  • If you loved toonami you have to watch this about 10m times

  • TRIP-HOP ♥

  • OMG

Does anybody know that sence from 2:05 - 2:07

where that guy gets hit in the face by that black arm

Someone please help me, i was like 7 when i saw that goodness

  • @BamBamJr75 Blue Submarine No. 6

  • Please tell me what anime that was at 1:56 Ive been wondering for years !

"Thats The Attitude That's Ticking People Off"

  • @Macktube That's from Outlaw Star.

  • @SlimD716V2 Thanks alot. :)

  • Damn...every time I watch this I get chills all over my body. These were the good old days of Cartoon Network.

  • DAMMM Now this is what I call good shows like the good old days all violent especially gundam so violent and such a great plot!!!

  • Blue Submarine Number 6 :)

  • Damn if only HD was in during the toonami era... this is great.

  • remember when you could show guns on TV?

  • Best part of the promo is summed up in three word BIG ASS GUN. That gun from Outlaw Star is freaking awesome.

  • I still get goose bumps every time i watch this!

  • Toonami....THE BEST AMVS EVER

  • These "cartoons" taught me morals in ways religion cannot.

  • TOONAMI! I'm 20 fuckin 7 years old now and I still miss these days! cartoon network now, is pure and utter SHIT!

  • Oh man. Good days! I miss Toonami! I remember when they got pushed to only on Saturdays with Toonami: The Rising Sun. Sad days...BRING TOONAMI BACK!!!

  • The "Failue is not an option" part always gets me... GOOSEBUMPS! man, I love these videos but this one's the best. So intense...

  • This video is awesome, I love toonami :) I always wondered what was the meaning behind this video though?

  • You are my hero for uploading these in HD. Here is your free Internet. :D

  • This is my shit. THAAAAAANK YOOOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME

  • Dekim's chin is hilarious.

  • It not just that American toons were better back then, anime was too. jesus Christ, I'm only 19 and I can't get with anime at all. And these guys, just a few years younger than me, are lapping up all the mindless ecchi/shounen/moe garbage Japan produces as though the shows were televised gold. What was wrong with semi-serious military science fiction? I could go on forever with this, but you guys already know what I'm trying to say.

  • @hfbrooklyn moe has ruined a majority of japan, the industry panders to otaku these days, not a broader sense of purpose.

You won't find another Cowboy Bebop again unless that changes

  • does anyone know that movie/show at 2:14 , 2 :28

  • @MistuhFreshBruhBruh Both are from Blue Submarine No. 6.

  • It's very interesting how Toonami made alot of these promos from shows like Sub No.6 when they only played it a handful of times.

  • I have two words for all of ye faithful : Toonami Aftermath. The Absolution is still out there.

  • Funnyjunk Brought Me Here (:

  • Compare this to the shit kids watch nowadays. I dare you. FUCK spongebob, phineas and ferb, jersey shore, teen mom and all that shit with loud obnoxious characters.

  • God! I'm getting choked up about this! I'm 20!!! And I'm getting choked up about a 3 hour cartoon network TV spot!

  • @XxSoraMifunexX You're not alone my friend. I'm 20, and I'm having some serious flashbacks and nostalgia. I feel like crying even. My childhood died when TOM 4 was created, Absolution was discarded, SARA disappeared, and Toonami shutdown in 2008.

  • @mjmegaplay i would love to have toonami as its own channeel then as a block

  • @mjmegaplay I feel you man. I slowly watched as CN destroyed Toonami one time slot at a time. Turns out the Saturday movement was because the shows it was airing were dubbed TOO violent for daytime TV(go figure). Then from there it was just one thing after another until only Naruto and One Piece were left and then I heard Tom say "Bang." and my world came crashing down.

  • @KazeAizen No joke. You have parents to thank for that. You also have parents to thank for Disney's own demise. "Too violent, sexual, etc." Please, TV isn't corrupting your kids, its you parents not sitting down with your kids to tell them what's reality and what's cartoon, and what's right and wrong. Hell, kids learned better morals from these cartoons/anime than the parents who were complaining about them. Who the hell teaches you to do your best, train your body and mind and never give up?

  • @mjmegaplay Seriously. All the top shounen heroes were that way. Goku, Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, Yusuke, and many others. Parents can teach the morals and these shows could build self esteem if you watch the right one. Hmmm...maybe they started destroying it so that kids could get the early bitch slap that is reality. Or maybe they wanted to prevent that bitch slap by taking away this stuff and giving them crappy stuff(flapjack and adventure time)

  • @KazeAizen I hope that's sarcasm. They took down toonami after the CEO changed (The new one hated cartoons, especially the ones Toonami was showing, and created the new CN reality block). Parent's were seriously complaining, exaggerating that their kids were learning "bad things." Don't give me that stuff about "Getting kids ready for reality" by taking down Toonami!? You're talking to a guy who was aspired to go into Forensic Medical Laboratory Science because of this network block.

  • @mjmegaplay Hey hey calm down. I really don't know all that much of the shit that went down with the studio. That was just my own wild speculation with a hint of sarcasm laced in there. Still that is interesting. A CEO of a Cartoon well Network that doesn't like cartoons. Sure is sad when that happens. Toonami was so great. I remember one DBZ add in particular that I doubt any of its current shows can say. "61 million fans can't be wrong. Dragonball Z. Only on Toonami." Or something like that.

  • The exact opposite of 4kids (which is a good thing)

  • "The world will not be destroyed... It will merely be changed."

  • What's the anime at 2:15 where he says "stand aside!"? :O

  • @lulztr0n First off, that happens to be a chick, second it is Blue Submarine No. 6, and third I hate androgynous characters too.

  • wondering if I should donate 10 or 50 dollars to the toonami music petition...

  • This brings back such fond memories ^_^

  • :'(

  • What do kids watch these days? The shows I've been seeing are nothing compared to the awesome days of the early years of the 2000s.

  • Dont give up toonami faithful, We can still bring toonami back. Theres a petition for toonami on a facebook page called "Petition to bring back toonami" its looking pretty good, we all should sign it and spread the word about it. This is our chance fellow toonami faithful, this is our moment to revive those shows that made us dream, those deep promos that made us creative and insightful. Toonami crafted the artistic, well rounded people we are today don't give up, there's strength in numbers.

  • @BlazeNeon1 They almost ruined it near the end anyway. Don't bring it back so they can ruin it for real. Let our fond memories rest and remain untainted.

  • @BlazeNeon1 It's not there anymore. Did it go through? Did someone stop it? Please, please respond!

  • Comment removed

  • @BlazeNeon1 Where at? I checked everywhere.

  • @BlazeNeon1 almost have, check out "neotoonami" its gonna be online streaming, but it looks like its gonna be big and if it is this will be the next step to restoring our old Toonami.

  • @BlazeNeon1 I joined TeamToonami, and it's our goal to try and revive Toonami. Check out their channel, as well as NeoToonami.

  • Thanks for all the vids Slim. Man I miss Toonami, I miss the 90s.

  • Man. The part where Goko hits cell with a Kameha wave coupled with the music just sends chills down my back.

  • @xBloodXGusherx sam dude. That sound bit is burned into my brain because of this promo. Man this takes me back.

  • @SlimD716V2

Alot of t the clips are from Endless Waltz, the Gundam Wing OVA, which is why they look much smoother than the series animation.

  • can someone plz tell what the name of the anime starting @0:08 - 0:15

it looks like gundam wing but the animation looks more modern

  • @Koldness99 gundam wing endless waltz

  • @Koldness99

slim is actually wrong all those clips you see between 0:08 - 0:15 are from Gundam wing Endless waltz. Its a movie thats why it looks to have better animation than normal but just like the original gundam wing its still old school.

  • @DarthVantos Was that the movie with the attack subs? and those fish like creatures they were battling. Im sure im off but dude/dudette can you pls tell me whats the name of that movie?

  • @DarthVantos

Actually, at 0:13-0:15, the lower half of the screen was taken from the GW, not EW.

  • Weekday cartoon lineups at their finest...

  • Sweet flood of memories....

    Thank you.

  • God I miss this.

  • probably my favorite

  • SO YOU THINK YOU CAN PLAY GOD?!

    Of course not... :)

  • Watching this makes me sad. Toonami used to be so freaking good.

  • aged so well

  • My animated Sci Fi idea makes alot of references and reminiscent to these shows. It's mind blowing.

  • I can do Hilda's laugh...It's scary and sexy at the same time.........

  • this video always takes me back. The remastered version is just absouletly amazing. Thank you for making something that was already bad ass even more epic. (=^.^=) I don't think it can get much better than this!

  • After watching this video numerous times since 2000, I've finally realized what the creators did at 0:15. Just another Toonami subtlety to enjoy.

  • This stuff still gives me the chills everytime I watch it, it never gets old.

  • "Why can't I make you understand?!"

"Nothing good can ever come from staying with normal people."

Never forgot those lines, and countless others from those stylish and mesmerizing promos. Toonami was, and still is, the fucking shit. When I have kids, I proudly can tell them how brilliant and absolutely badass my childhood was.

  • Man, this was back in the day before I knew anime was anime. Back then these shows were seriously exciting cartoons. Toonami needs its own channel.

  • "Let me repeat that...if this mission fails...if we are unsuccessful...we have no future..."

Might as well have been talkin about Toonami.

  • 00:11 EPIC. I love this part of the video, the timing was perfect.

  • Mind totally has been blow T_T

  • at 2:06 what is that movie called the guy that is swinging is like half shark or something plz help!!!!!!!! same from 2:26-:29

  • @JBIaze94 its blue submarine number 6

  • at 2:06 what is that movie called the guy that is swinging is like half shark or something plz help!!!!!!!!

  • damn that is badass

  • There was so much love put into this block, even if it was on a cartoon channel dammit. Toonami was FANTASTIC.

  • "Well it's just like it is with the stars; there are bright ones, and there are ones that are dim." One of the many quotes that stuck in my subconscious from this video to this day, ever since I was about 7 years old. Toonami was one of the brightest of all the stars that are TV stations. I am so, SO glad I grew up watching stuff like this.

  • Everyone talks about the great cartoons Toonami had, but you never really hear about the awesome job the art department did hosting them. Tom, mixes like these and those short promo clips were also what made the block, without them it would've simply been a few hours of shows

  • @hotsauce3888 - you are so right. These promos got me pumped, and injected some mystery and intrigue into what would have been some regular lineup (of awesome shows, nonetheless). SUPERB editing.

  • nothing good can ever come from staying with NORMAL people.

  • @psychostepho310 Isn't that from Outlaw Star?

  • what show has the really good computer editing with all the ships?

And what was the show at 2:12? (and i think at the end too?)

Really great upload, brings back great memories.

Thanks for reminding me that time in life

  • @imkaneforever

Blue Sub no.6, for both questions.

  • man .... grtting old sucks sooooo hard!!!!!

  • God Bless SlimD

  • i was looking for this for ages, and i never knew the name of the VID thanks slim

  • Most stuff you watch when you're young you grow out of and look back saying "God that was terrible" but I look back on Toonami and appreciate it more now than I did then. So ahead of it's time. The style, the music, the everything. This stuff influenced me to an incredible degree and it's made me who I am today. I never knew it until I actually grew up and looked back. Thanks Tom!

  • @Xneversaydie I'm with you on that man. Toonami really did influence so many people to look to the future, and to ponder who they were. My personal favorite is Broken Promise [Dreams]

  • @DjPacific2011 I gotta agree with you there 100%, Broken Promise, my all time favourite!

  • I still watch some of the older anime. Wife thinks it's childish and weird but I grew up on that stuff watching it after school. Advanced robotics is my favorite one.

  • Wow, the quality of the video is amazing. I don't remember it being that good.

  • Man Toonami brought so many people into the world of anime it's crazy.

  • HOLY SHIT

  • is there a way to download the sound clip without the sound clips from the animes? Not that I don't like them

  • @BlueRonsonol

all the background music is independently made.......the title of this particular one is called "walking stick", so you can type in 'toonami walking stick' and get the plane music track here on youtube......same for all the other promo-vids..........there's a whole music album they put out years ago with all the toonami music tracks, and they are all on youtube.......you just have to find them (and have the extracting software).......

  • Best AMVs ever. B)

  • Damn you CN. Damn you tot the worst place than fucking hell itself. You could've put toonami on AS for the weekend's, or give it it's own channel. But no. You just had to think of money and how much of a fucked up prick you are. Toonami gave us life, strength, knowlege. Now that you replace ir with these shitty new show's, these poor kid's are gonna become a bunch of pathetic pansies. I hope to god that you get your shit together and bring Toonami back, cancel your network. LONG LIVE TOONAMI!

  • "WHY CAN"T I MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND!"

  • I remember this promo like a million times. Also Hilda's laughing made me do the same thing. >: D

  • failure is not an option ... let me repeat that ... if this mission fails ... if we are unsuccessful ... we have no future

  • what are the names of the anime used?

  • @slicktheflash DBZ, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star and Blue Submarine No. 6. And there's one clip from Tenchi In Tokyo.

  • @SlimD716V2

And the best animes EVER on TV.

  • @SlimD716V2 0:10 is also from tenchi muyo

  • @Cadef21 Yeah, commercials like this were in the day when G4 and Toonami had solid line-ups. I used to watch it was a kid....they got all mainstream and crappy. Adult Swim became the new Toonami but better line-ups because it aired latter, still, don't think that's as good now either. Maybe these great times will be bestowed upon us once more in the future! If we are not successful, we have no future. :D

  • some one please give me link so I can DL this :)

  • Ahh my sweet childhood memories:D !! I luv all the toonami music vids :D !! I could never really pick a fav one because all of them were my favs :D !! I miss Toonami D !! I also luv "space is the place" and "broken promises - dreams" :D !! I luv ho the vid ended with the "stop transmission !!" and "be very careful" Toonami was the best lol :D !!

  • Would it be possible for someone to list all the shows that are in this promo besides DBZ and Outlaw Star..only 2 i recognize off hand..thanks for the help

  • @teamramrod27 its in the top of the comments buddy

  • @JRockTheOneAndOnly I dont see it

  • @teamramrod27 its blue submariine number 6 dbz outlaw star

  • @teamramrod27 and gundamwing

  • "Nothing good can ever come from staying with normal people!"

  • Its simply incredible

  • 2:09-2:11 EPIC!!!! 0_o

  • What a masterpiece. This is definitely my favorite Toonami music video after "Space Is the Place". The grimy, fast-paced instrumental, action-packed scenes and poignant quotes. Toonami was more than an action-cartoon block, it was an experience.

  • This was almost like a subliminal advertisement for us as kids to remember shit like this so that we don't get lost in what's going on today i mean as a kid i never thought that i'd think about cartoons like these so much listen to the overall message of the video with the quotes they pick to show it's probably nothing but honestly i think those producers knew this was going to be significant once their series died off.

  • I used to watch this commercial as a kid all the time. I used to tape shows I didn't even like, just so I could watch this over and over again. amazing job to whoever put this all together at Toonami

  • FIRE!!! = big explosion in DBZ. epic :D

  • Thanks for uploading this in HD, looks great. Bringing back awesome childhood memories. This shit got me hyped up back in the day. Hell it still does, i actually downloaded this song and worked out to it. Is that weird? lol

  • This is not meaningless!

  • Heero: Commence Destruction

  • I am happy that I had the chance to grow up with a great program like this! Also If this program never came on I don't think I would of found out about anime and grew up to love it! Toonami you will be missed! <3

  • Damn, this got my adrenaline racing when this came on before a new episode of DBZ or whatever in 2001. Still badass. >8)
