  • Lol my tiel also gets agressive, he screams at himself its funny

  • My tiel gets aggressive in front of mirrors. But it definitely depends on the bird. Some tiels do fine with mirrors, others get crazy. Hers is fine. Mine goes crazy. lol But there is nothing wrong with letting a tiel play in front of a mirror!

  • Mirror mirror on the wall.. John Claude Van DAMNNN IM FINE!!!

  • @nizarbushcar nice fresh prince reference

  • זה קורה באמבטיה, נכון?

  • OMG!!! that is a LONG tail!!! My tiel looks like a chicken, he is molting now... very cute

  • Such a purdy bird!! He sings so purdy!!

  • 0:4 when he notices the other bird also having it's head up, 0:17, ok i've had enough, you can stop copying me now! lol

  • bad move putting them in front of mirrors, they go crazy and become obsessed with it if you keep putting them there like that, trust me I know.

  • @mjwible27 He's not at all obsessed, he usually doesn't care much for mirrors - depends on his mood but most certainly doesn't go crazy over it or anything.

  • @bildiko well, you're lucky. My one bird is crazy for the mirror, he gets all mean and nasty. Tried breaking him of it, but no luck.

Just be careful how much you put him in front of it.

  • @mjwible27

I work in an avian veterinary clinic. Basically, so long as the bird won't hurt itself or you as a result of the mirror, it's OK for them to have them.

  • @Mockingbirdsflying I've owned 4 different cockatiels in 20 year time span, if you research online you'll see MANY stories of cockatiels getting obsessed with mirrors.

  • @mjwible27

    Everything in moderation, sir.

  • @mjwible27 That happend to my bird,my dad gives him a mirror to shut him up and I tell him not to but he wont listen.

  • @ktr2001 Yeah, once they get obsessed with the mirror, it's normally no turning back from there, sucks doesn't it.

  • @mjwible27 Now if we take it away he gets in attack mode.

  • AWWWW THATS SO CUTE

  • i have the same bird :D

  • My 12 year old cockatiel loves to talk to himself in the mirror. I really think he thinks there is another bird in there lol

  • Cute, we have one very similar to yours.

  • My budgie also wolf-whistlis when i whistle to him.

  • Ummm, cockatiels and mirrors do the opposite of good things, it harms there brain cells, but mirrors are ONLY recommended for parakeets i believe...................

  • @blackstripezbam Where's that info from? Just curious because every petshop I've ever been to had bigger mirrors with tiels and parrots on the label/packaging and smaller ones for budgies.

  • my bird, when it sees a mirror, starts going gorilla shit on it, where it continously tries to pick a fight with its reflection

  • wow he makes amazing sounds! its very nice. thumb up for the bird lol

  • this isnt good for birds

  • what do you feed him? his colour is beautiful!

  • :-)

  • my coctatiel has a special song for the bathroom mirror bird only

  • @mcip123 lol, mine looks like that but its female and its tail is messed up because the store bird plucked all the feathers out but she so pretty and loves kisses, cheese, and chocolate

  • @161202scar

Chocolate is highly toxic to birds. NEVER allow your bird to have it or it could result in death.

  • Very cute!

  • What a lovely cockatiel!

He's adorable.. and seems to be very happy! =)

    -TW

  • Check out a vid of Papito my talking, whistling and dancing cockatiel on my profile!!!!

  • So cute! One of my tiels (Pee-Wee) sees his reflection and tells it, "Hi, Pee-Wee!" (it's what I always say to him so he also tells me Hi, Pee-Wee). My other (Rocky) waves at hs mirror. Love tiels <3

  • what a siwwy burd....

  • LOL my bird gets scared and just stares at herself cautiously.

  • she'll get used to it if you keep showing her the mirror :)

  • LOL, hmm maybe i will -evil grin-

  • @bildiko when I brought mine home, for the first time, she RAN twoards the mirror like a buffalo!

  • My bird kisses his reflection. :) I'm going to put up a video of him!

  • thanks!!

  • What's the name of that birds race??

  • Cockatiel. There are lots of species, look it up! ^__^

idiots he cant fly nice life

  • is your bird a male or a female ?

  • a male :)

  • @SicKLem8 male and it really retarted =)

  • What a beautiful bright face

    He is gorgeous

  • I use to have a bird just like that one.

  • thanks! I love him

  • when i put mine next to the mirror he hisses

  • very cute bird :o)

  • nice birdy you have ^^

  • thx:)

  • He's done extremely well for a Tiel that wasn't tame when you got him. The sound of running water doesn't seem to bother him, so in time he might just take the plunge. Cheers

  • When birds, like Zsoli and also my cockatiel Joey, talk to themselves in the mirror, it leaves me wondering whether they actually realise it's just a reflection or if they think it's another bird :S

The latter seems likely in Joey's case at least, as he tends to snuggle up against his mirrors when he goes to sleep - as if the comfort and affection of the 'other bird' is soothing to him :)

  • I was wondering about that, too :) Lately I started to believe Zsoli realizes that it's his reflection he sees in the mirror because whenever he sees one, he starts saying "Zsoli". Sort of like he recognizes himself... but maybe that's a little bit too much to ask from a bird:)

Does Joey talk? I guess Joey and Zsoli (pronounced: Jolly) sound pretty much the same:)

  • adly Joey doesn't talk. We got him at a pretty late age from an old neighbour and it was too late to teach him anything. But he wolf whistle and imitates the telephone, as well as his own little tunes that he sings to his plastic bird as though he's sereading it XD

  • ^ ^ ^gah...stupid typos...i hope that message still makes sense, lol

  • sure, i understand it perfectly. My Zsoli was not tame when i got him and was a couple of months old, his name is the only thing he can say (it took him almost a year to learn), but i'm still hoping :) Otherwise he whistles and sings and gives kisses but that's all

  • thanks :)

  • Cute parrot :)
