I hope that this celebrated handsome Renaissance-man, Konrad Junghanels new opera production could revolutionalise the high-end music video market with his quality well above Nicholas Koks Fairy Queen. I can already hear & see the difference. I want to hear distortion-free transparent sound of Konrads lute embellishing every voice with masterfully chosen timber and resonance that are hallmark of his virtuosity.
Ive been keenly aware of Konrad Junghanels uncompromised devotion to the art of misick along with his noble attitude and leadership in every performance he made to this date. It is a long awaited welcomed expansion of his repertoire into Handels opera production. I knew he was more than capable to interpreting Handel, Purcell, Scarlatti and the like. I want to see his opera DVD in every libraries & colleges. One thing I am already assured is the quality whatever he does.
I often see some soprano singer runs out of breath during Aria Let bright serhaphim in act 1 of Samson. Then, singers face suddenly turn to be of a skull. Elizabeth Wiles has enough dynamic reserve in her vocal capability hence I consider her of a blissful asset for Handels work. I do not like excessive use of harpsichord for Handels work, 2-choired disposition in particular. Its timber crossover with Trumpet, Oboe & Organ are not harmonically smooth & transparent as Konrads Theorbo.
It's a joy to see and hear such a talented singer with a superb voice and technique!
