  • Haha wow! I can't wait till I start going for my private this summer at

Hooks, hopefully I don't encounter anything like this!

  • what did you do when you got back on the ground ?!

  • I would have honked the horn!!!

  • Where's the parallel runway? I only see one....

  • @SuzukiOnda If you stop the vid at 0:13 you will see the other runway 35R. Its much shorter and less wider than 35L.

  • @Airbusftw Oh now I see it. It's so small I thought it was a taxiway.

  • @Airbusftw He then was too high for it. This is when you swallow your pride, accept the mistake and call/execute a missed approach. Classic case of 'getthereitis"..

  • seems like you bailed out way to late

  • dont you talk on the radio?

  • I mean... is there an atc!?!?!?

  • @willyz777 yeah Hooks had a tower. Dunno how you can confuse right and left though...

  • i bet you wish you have "HORN" beep beeppp :)

  • shoulda landed in formation with his dumbass.... that wouldve freaked him out.

  • i could take the shot right here

  • Come off high right, Ice. I'm in. . .

  • This would be an excellent video to demonstrate to a student why they're called VISUAL Flight Rules

  • where is the coordenation?

  • Awesome dude! What's the story on this thought? DWH has a tower some I'm wondering what ATC had to say :)

  • Whoops!

  • Go go around Captain

  • That pilot takes see and avoid to a new level lol...

Going through his mind - "Fuck it, were VFR while were at it lets fuck approachs sequence up"

  • hahahaha

  • that student needs some side mirrors and sign that say's caution :student flyer

  • I hope this wasn't his check flight.

  • @117nathanmyers I'd be more worried about the CFI's license that was with him. It will be on him.

  • @Tressiensia very true. I didn't think of that... That instructor needs his license taken away. The student obviously needs some instruction under a different instructor and a refund of his money. Lets just hope they lost all communication or something like that and were forced to land on that runway... It still shouldn't happen though.

  • yeah sure help yourself, no problem.

  • I wanna see some air rage now. Ride his ass and flip him off. then go around honking then cut him off.

  • Very good advise!

  • You were high anyways

  • Why did that aircraft do that? didn't he cleared the area to see other traffic? Did he knew you were flying parallel?

  • Faster way i guess :P

  • KDWH - class D towered 35 L is ok 35 R is in bad shape - all busted up - they also have water landings. Several schools on the field, with a lot of students that are not from here...... Really a communication challenge with some of them.

  • That's some pretty sketchy advice he gave you.

  • towered or non?

  • @RealPilotFSX

    my guess would be non...

  • or CFI?

  • @AlanPepsiiForLife certified flight instructor

  • @SR71pilot2007 Thanks!

  • What does CFL means?

  • R5H4D0W The airport is KDWH David Wayne Hooks Memorial airport Spring Texas and things like this usually don't happen taking into consideration that 4 schools and more than 150 general aviation hangers are in the airport as well as military training and refueling so yeah give the poor guy a break he was probably soloing and if you screw up right here everyone takes a jab at you xD in a good way

  • wtf is that guy doing!

  • omg.... he is trying to commit suicide

  • Jeez, wtf.

Notice how it took almost seven seconds for the pilot flying to react? Typical human behavior.

  • @AVIATIO hehe, rubbernecking applies for pilots too apparently.

Anyone know is there a tower at this community airport or is it a towerless one? If its the latter pilots had better speak up because there won't be anyone to tell you whose behind, on top, or below you. Whew, close call.

  • @R5H4D0W

I will hazard a guess and say that there isn't one. I find it hard to believe that any controller worth his salt would have let those two aircraft come so close without informing one of them of an imminent collision.

  • give him tha fingaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

  • as the pilot in front flips him off.

  • Shoulda sped up right behind him and flashed your brights

  • Dooffffff!!!!!

  • Dude stole your landing!

  • How strong was the temptation to stay on the runway heading and give him a buzz cut?

Back in the day I might have tried that.

  • The title of this video can probably be changed now.

    It should read:

    "Ex-CFI and student pilot...."

If the instructor kept his cert after that I would be very surprised.

  • Brown Shorts Final!

  • that person jus cost u 50 bucks to turn around an land again

  • _Your aircraft / My aircraft. ` My runway / No damn it. It's MY runway. Uh...umm...ok...let's uh...land together and see what happens. _*l.o.l.* ☺_

  • what airport is this and where is the tower???? I am sure he had to call if there was.

  • Wow, that guy is a flying menace.

The system is dead simple, 35 R and 35 L, R is right L is left, if you dont know the diff between right and left, then what the hell are you doing wanting to command a plane.

  • You had to engage TA/RA on your TCAS :)

  • I would have definitely had a word with the guys on the other plane as soon as I got back on the ground.

  • keep eyes open all the time......surprises happen!!!!

  • Right, I didn't see a control tower, either. Soooo, you "scan for other traffic"! They saw the other aircraft and took evasive action - that's correct! I'm fairly sure the other pilot didn't say to himself, or his passenger: "Oh, gee, let's cut in front of that other plane - that should be exciting". One of the commenters was absolutely right: Mistakes will be made; keep your eyes open. Sometimes the "other guy" isn't on the radio. N-6395T

  • to me that sounds like it could be a control tower error why would they not radio the student pilot plane and indacate that they are landing on the wrong runway that doesnt make sense....

  • @midnightneonmatt It's a single runway airport. I seriously doubt it has ATC. And not even all planes have radios (Even though I'm sure these planes do). That's why you fly the pattern and scan for other aircraft...

  • @Trypanosomacruzii Single runway dosent have much to do with it. It has to do with the class of airspace the airport is located in. For example, Minden, NV has 3 runways plus a dirt strip, and yet it is an uncontrolled airport because it is in Class D airspace. Generally, all powered aircraft carry radio equipment. But mistakes do happen. This is just another reason you need to be on the lookout at all times.

  • @Trypanosomacruzii Look closely @ 0:15 you would notice that, what seems to be a taxiway is marked as "35 R"

  • Should have been paying attention. Honestly, the minute I saw that guy heading in my direction, I would have gotten the fuck out

  • Bip the horn.

  • that dick just cut me off!

  • @CJFrasher Same thing happened during my solo! i almost S**t my pants!

  • "people make mistakes. But this type of mistake can get someone killed."

Like the five billion other tasks that could potentially kill someone.

  • Yeah I agree, people make mistakes. But this type of mistake can get someone killed. Flying is something we should take seriously, it's not a basketball game, there are some mistakes we can't even afford to make once. It takes years to build up experience, but it only takes one single shot to destroy totally. Please fly safe and sharp.

  • Would love to know why if going around u put full power then decreased it and increased it again.yes good thing u did a go around but looked indecisive with throttle

  • Just drop in anytime :)

  • Did you give him the finger?

  • @HawkABillySwan Thanks for asking Schwan, but the answer to your question is no!! What I like to do is flash my lights and blow my horn as I fly past them:D

  • he probably had to pee...

  • beautiful tower

  • I would have kicked his ass

  • Wow man! Good scan! I'm always and constantly scanning the horizon for traffic specially when landing!

  • whoa. That looks like David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport (KDWH).

  • how can u land on a wrong runway lol. bad airmanship

  • That's why they call it VFR.

  • It seems like this is a BLUE ANGEL SMALL CESSNA Team :-) Landing on the same runway.. Good for students.. They think that they are pros. I think this is all ATC Fault. They should not let parallel landing for students at the same time.....

  • planes need horns beeeeeepppppp!!!! lol

  • @mark675 And with a loud engine and wind noise, who's gonna hear it? Any pilot or CFI will tell you to turn your head all the time when you fly. There is no substitute.

  • @SenorSpode are you serious??! i was obviously joking! wtf?? lol

  • @mark675 Maybe you should take things a teeny bit more seriously? Your childhood is over.

  • @SenorSpode maybe u should get ur head out ur arse u boring little prick

  • @SenorSpode how long did that take to think of? pathetic hahaha

  • @SenorSpode Well your full of integrity aren't you with ridiculous responses like that.....

  • @jpilot101 LOL, look at "Mr. Integrity" jpilot101, people. Don't start what ya can't finish, loser. Have A Nice Day.

  • @mark675 They use radios. Instead of beeping you can actually say something like "You've flown to the wrong runway, get your eyes tested"

  • HAHAHA What morons!

  • you could do a go-around if you feel like you landed in a wrong runway or you are too high.

  • Not a problem. I mighta pulled the throttle and squeezed in behind him. Plenty of room.... :-)

  • wtf

  • What? how did this happen?

  • Good recovery. Reject the landing, fly parallel to the CL, scan for traffic and climb. If they do a crash and dash, you'll be well out of their way.

Was on short final at San Carlos CA when the tower controller cleared waiting traffic to take MY runway for takeoff. I called out "Cessna Seven Papa Lima short final three-zero, going around". The tower guy called back "7 papa lima, uh, ok, good idea"

DOH! Learned later that they put greenies and trainees there. Even the tower guys can blowit

  • Thanks for sharing Sir, I hope you never encounter such incidents again. Safe flying.

  • I am comenting as a CPL holder and i have to say shit happens but thats not the worse ive seen. Once i was on short final for the runway and next thing i know bam there is a student pilot that comes over the top of my aircraft and lands on the runway so i have to do a go around but there are some real idiots out there and if you don't know what your talking about shut up and if there is 2 runways a plane can land on each at the same time the tower alerts you that there is a plane landing on it.

  • @MAF152SEB i'm a ppl holder as well. Shit happens and that's what we train for.

  • I am comenting as a CPL holder and i have to say shit happens but thats not the worse ive seen. Once i was on short final for the runway and next thing i know bam there is a student pilot that comes over the top of my aircraft and lands on the runway so i have to do a go around but there are some real idiots out there.

  • maybe it was you who had the wrong runway...

  • @LittleDrummer55 haha, always a smart ass comment from a child.

  • @LittleDrummer55 the vid shows the uploader approaching 35L, and the moron was flying on his right? the moron was supposed to land on 35 R instead.

  • basically have a little explaining to do, probably at most. Unless he already has some previous experience with the faa.

  • It doesn't matter if this was a towered field, see and avoid principle is always in effect. The correct action was seen here, the plane that was cut off, in interest of safety, went around. Nothing dramatic, and no one would lose a license over this.

People saying they should lose their licenses are obviously not pilots. This happens more often than people realize this low to the ground because people fixate on the runway. I can garantee that the CFI in the other bird didn't see you.

  • @mh53eflyguy absolutely happens, thats what we try and train for. The people that are commenting are not pilots.

little do they know while they are sitting in the back of passenger jets there lots of well we wont call them close calls but thing that we have to stay on our toes for.

if what ever pilot was in the wrong he'd probably be reminded by tower that when he lands come up and visit them or call this number, or get a call in a fews weeks

  • I disagree. This kind of mistake can cause lives (on air & ground) and properties. Thus, mistake like this should not even happen. And if it does, license should be revoked.

    Oh yea, I saw 2 runways, 35L & 35R (much smaller runway)

  • Only see 1 runway. Sombody cut the line

  • good that they saw each other in Time

  • 35 R

  • I think that's 2 on final for one runway. I don't see a parallel runway.

  • @avangel1 dude at 13 seconds there a much smaller runway , which i suppose mite of been mistaken for a txiway

  • @darkhunterz ah, 35 i see it now.

  • @avangel1 35 R specifically ;)

  • @avangel1 then I really hope you're not a pilot

  • @flyingpertyhigh are you serious dummy? I'm looking at a 4 inch screen, not hard to mistake for a taxiway plus the number are mm's high. Not hard to make a mistake.

if i was flying into that airport i'd be sure of what runways it had by checking your flight supplement. I didn't examine the video, it was just a once over.

Yes I am a pilot with a high performance aircraft. How about you big Bigmouth?

  • Comment removed

  • I think that's 2 on final for one runway. I don't see a parallel runway.

  • what a moron lol that guy shouldn't be flying if he want even land on right runway

  • Try flying around KDAB Ridiots out there, even with approach control it's still a nightmare, VFR, see and avoid! What airport was this at anyway?

  • He's just cutting you off... happens all the time on the road... gotta overtake... cut him off and rage :)

  • whoa...i know that guy got a call from the twr when he landed... :P "N***** call twr aftrer shutdown"...haha

  • Technically, the pilot in the video should have gone to the right.

  • @BigJonBone Since the other plane was off to the right....he would have turned TOWARDS it if he followed your logic. Sometimes common sense is required.

  • @quinnjim It's not my logic, it's the FAA's. Besides, they were both pretty much strait on final by the time the pilot in the video went to the left. That comment was my way of saying that nobody's perfect. However, that of course was a big mistake by the other plane.

  • @BigJonBone It's better that the pilot deviated left around the aircraft in front of him. This ensured he did not overfly the parallel runway. Good that you're familiar with 91.113, but they displayed airmanship by not overflying a runway, which could have other traffic. Perhaps not a big deal at this airport, MAYBE... point is to have awareness wherever you are.

  • i can imagine someone got a good bollocking after that, i don't think i've ever flown without the instructor shouting "LOOK BEFORE YOU TURN!" at me at least 3 times and now i can see why

  • I wish they recorded the video longer so we could hear the pilots exchange words over the radio after the incident haha

  • Wtf move the effing cam down D=

  • I would have just held my hand on the horn!...Air rage!

  • CFI fault the second they went off course the CFI should take over

  • Why all the hateful comments? Sure, somebody screwed up badly, but if you are a pilot and have never once done something stupid, you probably are not a very experienced pilot at all. Most of us just aren't videoed when it happens. Hopefully everybody in both aircraft (and ATC for that matter) learned from this. Nobody was hurt, nothing was damaged, there was no harm done. Now if this was not an anomaly, and the instructor did it multiple times, then it's time to start asking questions.

  • I was cleared for a head on landing one day and we landed a cessna and midget mustang short on head on approaches, it was tower error but thrilling none the less

  • they should take his fucking license away for life and ground that idiot

  • Certified Fucking Idiot

  • Use the Horn......!

  • what an idiot

  • Cessna N762JU once u taxi and park..call 555-1234.......fool.

  • I entered the pattern on a straight down wind approach. I had just throttled back to 2500 when an pilot announced they were on a down wind. So, I imeadiately asked the pilot where they were. The pilot said "I am abreast the end if the runway. Damn, that is right where I was. I looked everwhere and no plane! I announced I was leaving the pattern to the north. The plane was directly under me by only a few feet. I mean 6 to 8 feet!

  • @Engineer245 woah D:

  • Is this Hooks airport near Houston, Tx??

  • However, that was a horrible traffic pattern. I hope he was simulating engine outs.

  • Just go around and let it go. Shit happens. People make mistakes. That's why you scan for others.

  • @MaroonCamaro I agree with your comment. It is what training is for :) But at the same time, a near-enough is good enough attitude cant be had...all you need is this to happen once, as it did here..and you have a disaster and deaths. Well said though that people make mistakes..its how we learn!

  • I disagree. This kind of mistake can cause lives (on air & ground) and properties. Thus, mistake like this should not even happen. And if it does, license should be revoked.

But I can't help wondering, why did ATC gave 2 planes clearance for final approach??? I'm sure pilots would need to get clearance from tower for final approach right?

  • Big deal. I have had people move in on me before as well. It's only a big deal it you let it be, or panic. I jusually just fly up beside them real close wave my wing at them and smile. They then know what they did and that;s enough.

  • Was the DPE filming? lol

  • the fuck is he doing flying that close to him, asshole

  • there are senior pilots who are shit and shouldn t get their lience

  • I would have found that pilot and fcked him up as soon as I landed....after I changed my shorts of course!

  • @gatorflight i'm sure someone got a number to call..

  • LOL!!!!!! XD

  • You can be in the right and still end up dead. Defensive flying.

  • I hope you gave a ear full to this guy! This is because of morons like that that accident happens and GA gets a bad rep!

  • I have seen that happen a lot of times. I fly about 30 Hours a week, You can't immagine some of the things I have seen

  • Help plzz I heard you need some medical certificat to become a pilot I heard there are 3 classes witch is for private pilot liscense and what is a medical certificate do u have to pass a test To write? Or does the doctor or who ever check ur helth if it's in good shape please tell me please abd thank you

  • you can either get 1st, 2nd or 3rd class. For private pilot it doesn't really matter at this point, just as long as you get one. It's pretty much like a routine physical at your doctors. Its pretty simple and fast if you get your 3rd class. you will need to find a (AME) or Aviation Medical Examiner...

  • @JuMpEnSwiPeZ If you are in reasonable health you will have no problem with the 3rd class (private pilot) physical. The eye test is the most severe. There's more to it than the test for a driver's liscense. If your vision needs correction (i.e. glasses, contacts, etc.) make sure you have them with you when you take the medical. Also, don't go if yu have a cold or such. I made that mistake with my first physical.

  • @Rikki0 Hey did you do the medical exam for class 2?...also are you in australia?, I think each country has the same yet slightly different tests in aviation medical exams. Just wanting to know do they make you do depth perception tests?, like wear 3d glasses and look at some 3d book thing?...or make you stare at a picture of dots and see a "cat, star and car" thing?.

  • @MetalJaXtA666 I'm in Texas, Metal. My physical was only for the Class III. They didn't do a depth perception test as I recall. They did the standard eye test where you identify the letters, but they also make you do it while holding your head straight and reading the letters by looking down with your eyes. They also test peripheral vision, and yes you have to see the images in the colored dots to check for color blindness.

  • @JuMpEnSwiPeZ Hey, class 2 is for PPL...class 1 is for CPL, class 3 is for ATC, ground personnel etc.

Where do you live?, here in Australia, all you need is Class 2 medical for PPL. I hear Its just a routine physical check up, at least 20/40 vision each eye separate (with correction or without), and 20/20 both eyes together, ECG test, urine test, colour blindness test, basic hearing test and some spatial memory testing etc. Im doing my first medical exam real soon too for my PPL!

  • that cfi must be from Boston, cutting in front of you like that :)

  • Great heads up and piloting!

  • ATC didn't do anything

  • @TheCapton96 Yes they did, read the video discription

  • Great job of heads up flying. Cool you caught it on video too for all to see and learn. Crazy students and CFI's! Jk.

  • Jesus! Good heads up.
